  • 68 people hate cameras

  • look at he's hand at 02:00, no gips. now look at 02:37 "be careful not to cut your fingers"

  • thumbs up if you hate the themesong

  • I want an asshole camera!

  • Can you explain to me how you exactly take the pictures?

  • how do you take the film out of it if you glued it ?

  • Anyone know what westonband said?

  • I AM NOT SURE THAT YOU TELL THE HISTORY RIGHT. Alhazen (Ibn Al-Haytham), a great authority on optics in the Middle Ages who lived around 1000AD, invented the first pinhole camera, (also called the Camera Obscura} and was able to explain why the images were upside down. SO HE WAS THE INVENTOR OF FIRST EVER PIN WHOLE CAMERA. YOU CAN GOOGLE IT.

  • @pyasahaina Define camera. Yes, he did create the first "camera" in the sense that it was able to project an image into the back of a dark room, but it didn't capture the picture. Photo paper and film wasn't invented until 800 more years passed, in 1800. Camera Obscura is latin for "dark box". In this sense, yes it was a camera. But could people take pictures in 1000 AD? No, they couldn't.

  • You can make much more simpler ones that just use a coke can.

  • @routnex or a paint can with light sensitive photo paper creates exact same thing a panoramic view

  • muito bom

  • another useless video by kipkrap

  • Comment removed

  • @amiramoussa12 I have the rights to dislike anyone I would like to. Even you bitch.

  • thats all great but the question is... will it blend?

  • if kipkays looks shady theres no way on earth we can do it

  • it works??

  • greeks !

  • I made one in 3rd.

  • It surprises me that KipKay didn't use a spring-loaded drill bit marker at 1:31.

  • This is a very complex project. Just use a beer can!

  • i know what te picture looked like every man has one

  • get some metal snips already lol

  • @makemagazine

    Really?

  • you should hack a fiber optic light into something cooler

  • How do u take the pic?

  • He Hammerd The Nut In The Wood D: OWwie

  • ahh why would you hammer your nut into your wood!!!

  • wanna buy the film from me? my uncle owns fuji film, a camera store i could ask him to lend some to me...

  • it seems that kipkay has cut his finger...look at 2:39

  • Nice pictures

  • You must have so much shit around your house !

  • OR just use a match box?

  • haha nut and butter at 1:50

  • you rock kipkay and make magazine

  • There are much easier ways to do this! You can build the same thing with black foam board and you can use standard 35mm film..

  • i bet he never took a picture with that camera.

  • Holes...

  • @hbk621 no fuck you

  • peace of shit metal? xD

  • you can also by film at walgreens

  • he was probably an old science teacher!

  • excuse me kip, i like all of ur videos, and ur skills. but, this is definitely the most stupid and useless thing you ever made.

there r aways the first time... lol

  • hi...um....i am pretty dumb at this kind of stuf...and i was wondering how do i take a picture..?do i need to hold the shutter button for a few second or just press and let go?

  • Nice work!

  • We learned about this in my photography class and had a project where we made these pinhole cameras out of oatmeal cans.

  • 120 film is used for this because it requires little light to capture. for christ sake you guys are retarded!!!!

  • best man best

  • how does this big hunk of wood take pictures???

  • you can simply use photo paper and develop

no need for a film negative.

old polaroid camera replace the lens with a pinhole.use the exisiting shutter release etc is easy and very nice camera. use neg paper or polaroid film

film canisters make nice mini pinhole cameras and the images are very short exposures with fim neg could stop motion simialr to 1/60th of a second

  • It doesn't have to be that complicated.

Just make sure you've got a little box with a very very small hole in it and then just always cover your hole.

We were able to make one of these, but simpeler in an hour inclusive taking a picture and to develop them ourselfs (I do art)

  • This is the 2nd most asenine video I've ever seen on YouTube.

I'm keeping the #1 slot open cuz I haven't seen all your vids yet...

  • 1 como se toma la foto

2 como se que funciona donde estan las pruebas ?

    3 XD te cortaste sonso

  • WTF?

  • nice

  • Nice Project

  • 1- you can make a pinhole with a shoebox that'll work just as good as the one in the video

2- any film developing place in whatever city you live in will develop that film for you, assuming it's not a place like CVS or your grocery store

  • Dang, I noticed you said be careful not to cut your fingers with the sheet metal and you had a band aid on your thumb.

  • how do you take pictures with it?

  • wow, that's not very practical at all. they suggest we use 120 film when no one develops it....tisk tisk.

  • very

  • How the fuck does it take a picture? It's a wooden box with film in it.

  • you open the shutter lets light in and the light takes the picture sorta complicated i made one in my photo 1 class but it was out of cardboard just a box

  • LOL. did you say that 3:47. hahahhahah. you can't hardly take picture

  • LOL i made the same shit in high school with cardboard boxes. only took us 2 days with black duck tape to warp it around. and delveopling the flim only took like 10 mins. he just making some thing so simple into something so hard and long

  • piss of shit

  • wow, no picture results?

  • He's dont that several times before, it's ridiculous.

  • The guy who plays the Picard-style-hairdo boss has never played a lovable role. LOL & :(

  • ..way too much work...

  • cool

  • cant you develop the film yourself?

    try googleing it

  • @dumle29 Are you thinking of paper? Paper is a little different from film. Film must be developed in COMPLETE DARKNESS. No safe light, nothing. In order to do this, the film is put into a light-tight bag, along with a special container which has a reel and a top that allows liquids in, but not light. You have to wind the film onto the reel without looking at it, and doing this correctly takes many years of practice.

  • this is good stufffff...

  • you can do the same thing with just a can.

  • how the fuck do you take a picture with it? ...

  • Alot of people don't know this, but witih pinhole cameras, the "depth of field" is practically 0 to infinity so everything will be in focus, unlike most cameras. So that is one big plus for pinhole cameras....plus those photos are very artistic looking if your into that sort of thing..

  • how do you take a picture though?

  • @ 1:47 epic fail in design. I didn't know you could use wood glue on metal. That nut wedged into half thickness of the board is all that's keeping your expensive equipment from hitting the pavement? I gotta credit you I got the biggest laugh of the day watching you pound glue all over and mop with a q-tip. Oh man yer killin' me. Are you household hacker?

  • Wood glue expands slightly as it dries. I've seen a lot of projects call for using it in this type of scenario exactly for that reason. It's just holding the nut in place through pressure.

I can't imagine it coming lose unless you deliberately pull it out.

  • what we dont get to see a picture from it? lol, it probably didnt work :)

  • Nice project!

  • camara oscura :)

  • you mean obscura?

  • @PorsukToros oh yes, it's obscura.

  • This is a very cool project but the information regarding the first photographic cameras is in error.

The first photographs were actually taken by a Frenchman named Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1822. The oldest surviving photo was taken by him in 1826.

The first known photographic portrait was taken in November of 1839 and was a self-portrait of Robert Cornelius.

  • I thought Kipkay meant the very first pin hole camera, not camera in general..? :s

  • @felixonthemac That may be the case. Nicéphore Niépce's camera was a camera obscura adapted with a lens.

  • you thought is was ok to post this vid without showing any photos from this or similar camera. awesome decision.

  • kipkay

when you cut sheetmetal you too need gloves because you cut in arm at 2:40

  • ***** :)

  • but how do you use it

  • Excellent video!!

  • too hard :D

  • thats what she said

  • Hey KipKay!

Why not develop the film yourself?! You don't need a darkroom. And if the chemicals are too expensive you can even develop the film using coffee and vitamin C. Look up the recipe online!

  • cool!!

  • Really, take a look at the author's Flickr album, compared to other type of lomography, the quality of these pictures is awesome!

  • I for some reason find it hilarious as he says be careful don' tget cut by the sheet metal, a bandaid appears on his thumb.

  • u can just make one out of a tin can and use photo paper instead of film, and use a soft fridge magnet as the shutter

  • no.

  • I remember making one of these for the Science fair in like 5ht grade.... Good times, of course mine was a lot cheaper, made of a Cheetos Cardboard Cylinder container, Can you even find those anymore? Lol.

  • at my local 99 cents store they have some shady products including tins of cheetos and expired canadian toothpaste (in french) cheers from san diego

  • yay ur back =]

  • Becky @Craft make something similar a few months ago, but Craft is Craft and Make is Make

  • 111 lol post..... jj

    Cant see links to click...

  • you should of just waited till the pic came back boo hoo.....

  • lol another billy mais :D

  • ive made one a lot simpler

  • I bet Costco would still develop the pictures for you.

  • For future reference, could you please put the links to the flickr pages in the description or as an annotation (instead of just showing it briefly in the video). It's just a pain to pause the video and type in the URLs in 2 new windows..

  • @westonband - Thanks for the suggestion. Done!

  • @makemagazine can you provide links for parts thanks

  • i made this, but all pictures were white..

  • neat. if only I had a workbench!

  • YAY! KIPKAY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • seriously, change the intro

  • You should add those links in the sidebar so people can just click on them.

  • i made one of these in my photo class.

  • why do the links in the sidebar never work?

  • 51 seconds of history "snore"

  • pin hole camera was invented by a Muslim scientist ib-nul-haitham.

  • please show picks.

  • How does it take a picture?

  • This is awesome, all i have is a digital camera... lol

  • @ziberteck How awesome would you look as a tourist with that hanging around your neck, people would be like" hey look the flinstones are on holiday"

  • seriously kip kay i cant believe you were not offered to to host your own tv show yet, anyway nice video keep it up

  • Geez, don't they do this stuff in Cubscouts with coffee cans? That seems a lot more practical than this thing.

  • there is an easier way of doing this with a can and shoebox.

  • its a weekend project not a 30 minute thing

  • @PAMAROSHOUSE no it takes more than 30 mins. just because it is a shoebox and can doesnt mean it takes 30 mins. u need to make sure it is dark on the inside, no light gets in. pluss u dont need film for this one. u use photo paper. but u need to develop it in a dark room.

  • Oh man - low tech. Cool idea though, should be used for a science project.

  • does it work? thats the question

  • We made those in middle school, but we used oatmeal containers.

  • if I was the first guy that came up with the pinhole camera, i'd have scammed people for years convincing them I was just an amazing artist ;D

  • hey kip

the weekend is just 2 days

so do more easy projects :S

  • I think your weekends need to be shorter because your grammar is horrible....

  • Dude... I do all the projects in 1-3 days soo... Yea..

  • you can start them on friday's afternoons lol

  • All the ones that I actually do that is...

  • Awesome!!! I'm gonna have to try that! How does it exactly work? It would make a cool science project if it works like I think it does...

  • FINALLY I ENJOYED PART 1,PART 2 DEVOLOPING FILM FROM HOMEMADE CAMERA HOMEMADE.Marlo

  • running out of cool ideas ?

  • hammer in your nut...

  • 4:16

    pauseXD

  • black mesa we test and success

  • Kip Kay... Your Awsome

  • aperture science...we do what we must because we can

  • i remember making this in photo class, but a lot easier way. but works really well too haha

  • lol ,page not found, ,

  • Y do you have such a long username?

  • His full name is Kip Kedersha

  • u didnt show how it works nor did u explain how to change the film....

  • Holy crap, kipkay isn't advertising Kodak here! What a surprise! (irony smile)

  • You had better put them photos on your channel or somthing. I wanna see them.

  • hmm, youve done way to many camera things.

  • can it make photos no..

  • I made one a few years ago. Let me tell you, the hole needs to be small, less than one millimeter, and closer to 1/4 of a millimeter (use a metric ruler to see how big a milimeter is). When you use a pin to put the hole in (I used aluminum foil) do not push it in all the way since the diameter of that pin is about 1 mm. I used a Nikon camera and removed the lens and taped on the aluminum foil "lens" inplace of the glass lens.If the hole is too big, you get blurry photos. Expose about 1 or 2 min.

  • can we get some easy projects please!

  • lol

  • 2:35 no plaster, 2:39 plaster. Good one Kip :D

  • Awsome, KipKay you have done it again!!

  • 2:15 Used the same scrap block in Bike light project?

  • hoooooraaaay for kipkaaaaaay!!!!

  • its ok if u cut ur finger though...cuz u have like 10

    (or 8 plus 2 thumbs)

    lol

  • KipKay always cuts himself with the sheet metal, watch for the magical spontaneous band-aids!

  • there is one easy way to mimic the effect.

take the endcap to the camera (digital system camera) and drill a hole in it take a as thin papper or aluminal thingy and make a hole, secure on the inside of the cameraendcap thingy. now its just use as a normal camera but longer shuter speed.

  • Pretty cool Project. If I'd find anybody to develope the film, i would build one.

  • eagles cup in background

  • lol vury

  • I did something like that in photo 1

  • cool

  • Don't leave the camera house OPEN! GOD DAMMIT!! >_>

  • Developing B&W film is easy. You need some gear obviously but it's simple. I learned how to do it when I was a kid.

It's basically developer, water, fixer, water done for negatives and prints.

  • you mean developer, stop bath, fixer, water.

but your right, it's not very hard after you've done it a few times.
