  • You say your a beginner but you throw like a fucking pro!!!!!!!

  • like if you want to learn how to throw knives like Lee Christmas from the expendables

  • He clowned all you fools out there

  • I'm

  • This guys cherry

  • This guys awsome

  • I have to agree this guy is quite a goof but funny. I love the nervous mannerisms. When he talks it sounds as if he is embarrassed about what he is doing and doesn't want his mom to know what he is doing in the basement. Secondly am I hearing the sound if water tricking in the background? Sounds like he is running a hydroponic garden down there. Not that id know what that sounds like!?!? ;)

  • Should put some cheap carpet or some sort of cloth around to catch stray knives that ricochet off of the board... or else they'll bend / chip fast if they keep hitting the concrete like that.

  • this guy is absolutely hilarious

  • he totally said that they have really good wood hahahahah

  • Your funny

  • This man got good wood

  • wow... imma try that now

  • Dude u r awesome!

  • He seems unprepaired lol.......

  • lol this guy is awesome!

  • hahahhaaaa, you better puts some armor on buddy before you kill yourself, lol

  • pinoy ka ba

  • He look's and sound's like a Pedafile! lol

  • are you filipino?

  • DING! ping ping CLASH CRASH PING

  • that was your first try EVER?!?!?! You got two of them to stick already! must be easy:D

  • at the beginning he seriously sounds like a creeper...

  • Hey Joe, i tried this technique you came up with. I don't know why, but i realize the knives are doing whole spin rotations when up this close. And i can tell your like less than 10 ft to the wood. This is a good option for using Maxam Kunais. (:

  • @knifethrowing42510 Maxam Kunais look cool and I wouldn't mind trying them, same with throwing darts. I think both would be simpler, more effective, and consistent. Lately though I have taken a fancy to kali/arnis/escrima sticks and have purchased what I feel are a great set of sticks. ;)

  • @joefileman Yo joe. Can i throw these knives using the thorn technique or the no spin throw?

  • @LaddieGalicia Maybe but I sure couldn't. Closest I had to a no spin, and it's in the video, was a half spin at close range.

  • @knifethrowing42510 Thumbs up

  • you don't throw it right. you are saposed to hold it by the back of the blade and then aim your elbow facing the target then throw it

  • No range no change hahaha

  • those knives are small like ure chinese dick

  • I never got tired of watching this video. (:

Still using the same small knives Joe?

  • That's your problem, you shopped at Home Depot. Buy your wood from Lowe's and you'll be the next Gil Hibben.

  • tell me why he brought up home depot?! =]

  • Cold steel true flight throwers are awesome

  • thats fricken awesome im gonna buy some now

  • how much practice did it take u to get to a satisfactory throw&aim?

    i have the same knives

  • at 2:16 acually fell out of my chair laughing. THIS GUY IS HILARIOUS!!

  • get some carpet to lay on the floor so you don't ruin the blade of the knives

  • FAIL

  • Okay, this is total bs. The guy throws the knife perfect so its perpendicular to the wood! That means practice!

  • for me it is easier to throw knifes by the blade. you should try too

  • What size are those knives? Inches? Nice video!

  • hahaha, you have a great sense of humor!

  • hi good job on the throwing i started about 7 months ago and ive gotten pretty good at in if you pratice you will become very good at it. keep it up

  • i fuckin hate you

  • "never tried the big ones" thats what she said

  • a "No-Spin" is much better

  • try the true flight throwers from coldsteel. but buy it from 888knivesrus since it sells the same product except 33% cheaper

  • who cares if you can throw theme or not thay make you look badass

  • i can throw bo shuriken, they are like a 5 in. metal spike

  • This is just redonkulous!!! LOL funny :)

  • Talks too much..

  • haha this guy is funny...

  • i tried this behind my house theres like a wood wall and i tried it with normal kitchen knifes and the knife bounced back and almost killed me o.o

  • Excellent Job! A+ for effort.

  • "what what in the butt ?! "

  • Your pretty good see I like no spin throwing you should check it out

  • try a no sip, its simpler

  • im gonna throw that at a cop.

  • it would of been funny as he pulls back for the throw he follows through but cuting his ear look how close he is from him own ear

  • hahaha funny shit

  • "Ive heard the smaller ones are harder but ive never tried the big one ha" THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!

  • HAHAHHAHAHA!

  • hey man, you need to follow through with your arm . dont stop the motion

  • who wants to know about the wood

  • Hibben cord grip throwers; look great, and

are balanced so nicely that I can stick 'em up to

2" deep in an elm log (no spin) from 17 feet. Unfortunately that penetration is enabled by

tips that are PAPER THIN. I've broken all 3

    of mine...

  • so, the steel used in hibben is low quality? i just bought the axe, but no way im throwing it

  • is this a joke...i just ordered the same gil hibben knives but i think they are smaller than the ones in the video...im a newbie...CRAP

  • haha ... funny ass vid ...ninjia style. without the mask...and yes i spelled ninjia wrong twice ; )

  • I killed that person tere oh and i killed another OOOHH HEADSHOT!!!

  • I have a set of Hibben Generation 2 throwers and am still trying to learn how to throw. I have occasionally done the little "jump back" dance seen in this video. FYI: Never throw at a tree. I have some friends who like to "throw" and their preferred target is a tree. NEVER throw at anything round as it increases the liklihood of either losing your knife or possibly only partly deflecting off the side and snapping the tip. Good advice above: get some decent training material first.

  • pinoy knife expert

  • for different distances, adjustment should be done by moving your grip. If you're further away, grab more towards center of gravity -point (less spin), when closer, grab further away from the center (more spin). That way by altering the spin, your throw is always the same, your wrist always stays in same position, only your grip changes when distance changes.

Trust me, this pays off, especially when you throw different kinds of knifes or heavyer ones where you can't use the wrist flip.

  • A good tip that I'm grateful of, is that when you throw a knife, imagine the arm movement as if you are standing behind a fence and are trying to chop down a tree branch on the other side of the fence, at your eye level, so that you have to reach out a bit to chop the thick branch.

After that image in your mind, comes the follow through. Your hand shouldn't stop when you release the knife and your wrist should be straight the whole time. Adjustment should be done by where your...

  • What a lovely hobby :D

But I gotta say, you might regret of the style you're throwing the knifes later. It's MUCH harder to unlearn something if done wrong.

I'd suggest that first, buy a couple of books on throwing techniques. It's possible to throw with flicking your wrist, as you seem to do it but it's MUCH MUCH harder and doesn't work with heavy knifes. Also don't forget the follow through. (to be continued)

  • wth

  • this dude is a fucking riot the way he edits lol hes cool as hell

  • Knife throwing = flight velocity + rotation frequency + precision.

Try to increase the flight velocity and to lower the rotation frequency at the same time.

You'll obtain the same result at a higher distance, believe it or not.

  • You're pretty accurate , but try throw with more force. and try thorn style throwing.

    keep going :)

  • Why do all these guys always talk shit before doing anything? Skip the bullshit and get on it!

  • you are doing this all wrong - release it like a hot potato, btw im 10

  • First of all ur holding them wrong if u hold them right then that would help u right

  • I don't throw knives, but I don't think you're supposed to let it spin that much. Only 180degree, but I could imagine how that would be difficult with the smaller knife.

  • If you ever get into throwing knives a bayonet is awesome! It throws like a spear with no spin. The smaller knives are more of a ninja skill - less mass taking advantage of rotation.

  • Interesting.

Very interesting because I have a WW2 bayonet. Im also going to get a set of large Hibbens.

  • The underhand throw is the easiest way to throw the bayonet. ;)

  • @joefileman small ones are bad, but the larger ones, with cord grip are really good, those knives are nice but the cord just get broken after some throws.

  • I have NEVER posted a comment on youtube once, in the million videos I have seen but I just had to on this one. I just have to say, this guy is a freaking moron and he cracks me up. NINJA STYLE!

  • @moses1818

I have NEVER posted a comment on youtube once, in the million videos I have seen but I just had to on this one. I just have to say, this guy is a freaking moron and he cracks me up. NINJA STYLE!

  • чё это ёпть за дурак

  • haha omg dude i donno if its because im high but thats siome funny shit

  • Its not because your high, im only a bit drunk at that is some funny shit

  • dang, I cant do it that good but that might be because I've only been doing it for 2 days myself and am using a hunting knife at a makeshift tarket lol. But you did excellent for a first time.

  • ive tried knives that looked similar, they were somewhat difficult but i tried throwing them sideways, works easiest 4 me

and is quicker to just whip out and fling at someone ehh... somthing, unlike most ppl ive used throwing knives instead of a gun, obviously not as effective, but more fun, and there is always a shocked bystander wen u fling these things, ha, shuriken r also very fun to use

  • who ever made the vid u going cut ur leg off standing that close

  • slow your spin down and the blade side is easier

  • its pretty dangerous throwing knives indoors.

  • watch?v=knScAfrFOmA

    watch?v=7iis3QebjxU

  • Deifferent between knives and stars are.when knives fly and hit the board with the bottom it wont get stock , but stars have none buttom so they just grab the board

  • watch out with tese things man ok?

  • Did you ever get anymore throwing knives besides the ones you're using? Have you had interest in moving to the bigger knives?

  • For now these are my only set of throwing knives but I've been planning to get a heavier set the next time I visit my favorite knife store if they have something nice.

  • I've been getting my knives from Ebay and Amazon. The Gil Hibbens knives i have on their way to my house are Jack Rippers. I have a set of three 6".

I can see this video was posted a year and a half ago. I learned how knives are when they take a beating. What condition are they in now? Did you ever have to sharpen the blades?

  • I never had to but I experimented and sharpened only one because I was curious as to how sharp an edge I can make without ruining my other (non throwing) knives. Gil Hibbens knows how to cook the right kind of stainless steel and apply good geometry/design for a throwing knife.

  • If their balanced you should hold them at the blade

  • it actualyy looks like its fake right when you hit the piece of wood 0.o

  • DUDE!!!! u creep me out.........BUT i like it

  • you should put down a large rag under the target so if and when you miss and the knifes land on the ground, the don't get damaged=)

  • Thanks for the idea. I have some cardboard underneath and it helps most of the time (when the knives don't bounce somewhere far).

  • this is a very funny vid

  • you found them with your butter knifs?

  • "u suck a throwing knives im only a beginner and im better than u"

way to be a douche, wheres your vid?

  • Only little kids say stuff like that.

  • how the hell are you sticken them with all that rotation?... are you magic? O_O lol jk nice knives

  • I'm gonna take up throwing again, its a fun hobby. I look forward to the dodging, er, um I mean the fun.

  • haha when u threw the knife and it came flying back that was funny, anyways nice vid

  • throwing knifes are easy you just need practice

  • I got the Fusion throwing knives by SOG the other day. They fit very well in your hand for many different throwing styles, and have a very satisfying weight to the them. I personally throw them no-spin style, but they are very comfortable in a hammer grip as well. Bottom line, they are very sturdy beginners knives, and you can get three of them for like $40

  • Great. I've been thinking of getting another set of throwing knives or maybe stars.

  • I personly like throwing them in the two finger and thumb on the blade/handel depending on the distance...thats the way i was tought by my dad and never saw a point to any other styles

  • Man. hold your knife by the blade and use your entire body in order to throw. It's gonna give you more controll. Especially when you are throwing such small knives. geed luck!

  • I'm not a huge fan of full rotational throws. At most I try to keep it to a half spin from about 10 feet away with my 6 inch knife/darts. Its all about finding the fulcrum of the knife and keeping your main/top grip there when you throw. I have a couple of sets of 8 inch blades that I throw no spin/combat style but my range is only about 10 feet max with those. But I've only been throwing since December and hopefully I'll start getting some more improvement and learning new techniques.

  • A nicely balanced bayonet would be cool to throw.

  • how well are the gil hibben knives? im debating on either getting the gil hibben or these other knives that are 9.99 dollers

  • The knives are fun to throw but light. I think their appeal in martial arts has to do with the fact that they are easy to conceal. Weightier throwing implements definitely have more power and distance simply because of the relationship of mass and momentum such as an ax if you can throw it with the same velocity you could potentially drop a moose if you're into that kind of stuff.

  • uh thanks ill stick to the other knives then

  • umm ahaha funny video and i just started its fun.

  • 2:15 lol

  • wow for a begginer ur really good im not tht great but i just go these black throwings knives tht im makeing a video about soon

  • Theres a website called budk and they have really cheap and cool throwing knives

  • I'm very interested in the art of throwing knives, I'm looking for a decent set of throwers. does any one know if these Gil Hibben knives are any good?

I can only guess that they are short distance because of their size but that's it.

  • I can't throw no spins yet but I have been able to stick throws with these knives from farther off by calculating spin. From what I've gathered from the study of knife throwing is that a no spin throw is the best and heavier knives have more oomph in them because of momentum.

  • ushould throw it a bit faster and maybe get a new set... jus mysuggestian... good video

  • Thanks! I've actually sped up my throw since then and was contemplating making another video but I sharpened one of the knives to amazing sharpness and am now hesitant about throwing it. I have another knife to sharpen now so I may start throwing again soon. I'm also tempted to make a video about how sharp the throwing knife is. It is ridiculously sharp.

  • wat kind of knive are these... and by that i mean where u buy them..

  • I bought them from a really cool specialty store not far away that sells purely blades and knives.

  • like wat wedsite

  • riversedgecutlery

  • thx man

  • you strike me as a very strange man...

  • I don't know about that but just to share I busted the blades of my throwing knives so much from throwing and just sharpened them (a skill I am now interested in) and now they are razor sharp! Yeah!

  • Lol, "strange man" my girlfriend says I'm strange for throwing. Yeah, I broke a whole set of the larger Gil Hibben knives a couple years ago in December. That was my first lesson of "Do Nots" in knife throwing: DO NOT THROW WITH A COLD KNIFE.

  • on a side note, I'm still very much a beginner myself and I've been throwing for a couple of years. Since I pretty much taught myself, lessons were long and hard.

  • i would have to say you have more experience than you say, but if not, than nice job for a beginner!!!

  • ha who dosent want to learn how to throw knives?

  • haha you got wood from a department store =P

  • not bad man very good for a beginner i would take that wood out side and practice throwing harder i use what ever knife i am wearing at the time dont evan own a throwing knife i have a short video if you want you can check it out i only learned to throw knives in case i run out of ammo lol.but i will give you 5 stars very good video

  • Thanks for the comment and the excellent rating. I'll watch you knife throwing video.

  • actually if you throw one to me, i think i can catch it

  • lol 2:16 made me laugh =D

  • Man i have to say... for someone who is below beginner, as you put it, you sure hit that piece of wood WAAAAAAAAAAAY many more times than i did. Hahah goo job! =D

If anything its misleading, cause you made it look easy =P

  • I practiced a while before making this video just to get the rhythm. It's like that, majority of the first throws are misses. It's the hits that motivate because they give a really cool feeling. After a while the hit ratio increases. Fun stuff but make no mistake, it is tough - it is an exercise.

  • haha this guys hilarious

  • dude yes the small knives are way harder to throw and actually get your target i'm actually practicing on my shurikenjutsu right now.And i've only landed 1. hit out of 20

  • haha, i know how yer feel, i love throwing knife even if i dont own one... i used my pocket knife instead XD haha

  • lol.

  • loooooool!!!

  • the guy is realy funny

  • Great video! I was thinking about getting the book, I might. But for my birthday I'm getting some cool throwing knives. I'm gonna try to throw them, don't know how well it will work XD. Maybe I'll take a video, but trust me, your much better than I will be anytime soon! 5/5

  • Thanks and have fun! Knife throwing is like the supercharged version of bowling. :)

  • Pretty nice video.=) I just got my first throwing knife today. It's pretty well balanced. One tip for you though. I see that you throw the knife from the handle. It is pretty recommended that you throw from the blade. Just a little tip.=)

  • I tried that and a book I read also stated that the blade grip is the more popular way to start. It just freaks me out a bit holding the sharp pointy part. Everyday with knives it's cut with the sharp part and hold the handle then all of a sudden it gets switched. :D Rotation has a lot to do with the choice as well.

  • This is awesome I have a piece set of these knives, now I'm in the process of throwing them. I was going to buy the book now I'm just going to watch videos instead.

  • Thanks! I bought a book and I can't say it helped a whole lot with my throwing but it was an interesting read. :) The author who became a master thrower explained how his favorite knife ever was his mom's kitchen knife because of the balance. He'd sneak it out and throw it then wash it and place it back. His mom never found out. xD

  • that was so damn funny at 2:16 hahaha looks like me

  • u sound like a realy nice man

  • by far the funniest video on knife throwing i've seen yet.

  • Thats so Tight i just got the same kind of knives and i was looking up how to throw them so i have't even got to try them yet but they look so fun

  • It's an adrenaline rush sticking throws but after throwing about 420 times if you know what I mean it would probably be better to stare at the knives and contemplate the best way to throw them.

  • Im 13 and i started knife throwing 2 weeks ago, and i found out the way to throw it no spin from up to 15ft away...i will be posting a video soon.

  • Go for it. Let me know so I can watch your video.

  • there these icepicks but it has the same handle as a screwdriver but only with a sharp point those are perfect for throwing better than knives

  • I've heard of someone making perfectly balanced spikes for throwing - made so that even first-timers can throw nice sticks. I can't find it anymore.

  • thers a screwdriver with a sharp point like an icepick u can find it any store,

those are 10 times better than any spike or knife, cuz of the handle you get twice the damage, and they are common and not seen as a weapon, perfect for beginners, for throwing spikes n stuff you need to learn like no spin throws like a ninja =)

  • at low distance like 10 feet just throw it straight above your head as hard as u can, always throw it as hard as possible,

    practice with screwdrivers first,

  • Hahaha! That's funny. I tried that before and the knife bounced back pretty scarily. For me it works to stick it first then gradually add power. I found it to be like race car driving - speed is the result of control. Lately I've been able to add more power - significantly more than that in this video.

  • thats y u should practice with screwdrivers first,i can kill a guy with a screwdriver from 10 feet with the power i throw, u want maximum damage,

  • im ok a throwing knives just a little tip dont use as much wrist and youll stick em into the wood more

    nice vid btw

    5/5
