  • This is a remix from the song on the original '63 album, but I've been unable to locate it. It's not a pronounced change, but some instrumentation & backing vocals were added. Where can you find this version?

  • Xmaasss!!! Sleigh Ride - The Ronettes

  • I don't think Bumpits could manage that hair.

  • @lilacpenguins Lol!! No, I think you are probably right. That's a job for Aqua Net!

  • @lilacpenguins Nope! Super backcombing and a product that looks like a wire wide mesh basket -so it's easy for the pins to nestle in- , look them up on google or even on ebay if you want to see authentic ones

  • @Trund27 me too

  • they've got great voices! i like 1:25 through 2:04

  • 11 people didn't go on a sleigh ride

  • I luv the way they sing this song.

  • Awful. Sorry.

  • Love this song

  • Best version, so good! I just posted my own version of Sleigh Ride on my channel if anyone's interested!

  • This is the one time of the year I can look forward to hearing the Ronettes which happen to be my first cousins... RIP Estelle...

  • @rpmobili I was born in the 1980's, but I had a thing for this ladies....rest in peace to your cousin...

  • This is what Italian gangsters listen to on Christmas

  • @nholt Really? Wicked!

  • @Trund27 ur a kewl kid :)

  • @bakedpootetoo You are too :o)

  • It is interesting that at Christmas we open "presents", becuase the present moment is the greatest gift that life gives us. It is the only thing we have at all times, the only real thing that never ends. We eventually end up throwing out most christmas presents, because they cannot last forever. But the present moment does.

Type in Truth Contest in google, click on the first result, and read "The Present", to understand the nature of the present moment.

  • marry christmas

  • Nice microphones

  • These ladies are so classy and talented.....they will never be duplicated....thanks for posting this....it's beautiful

  • BEST VERSION EVER!!!! love it :) Thanks so much for posting!

  • im doing this song in chorus

  • Yes indeed. But it is magic in the month of December. You figure that after several Christmas seasons we will all get better at it!

  • Thumbs up if your listening in Spring/Summer!

  • best christmas CD ,ever

  • Buy the CD "A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector"! This is not only the GREATEST Christmas album ever, it is one of the greatest of all albums, period. I listen to these songs year-round.

  • i already miss christmass :( i miss you and your smile ,happiness and joy of the christmas time

  • Why don't chicks wear their hair like that anymore?

  • my daughter is 17 and cant stop playing it

  • PEOPLES WAR - YES absolutely. The Spirit and the Hustle and Bustle that tends to be in the air magically. I am not sure how many of you have noticed it when out in your city or town. People are more gentler, more understanding, more united and more smiling than any other holiday. This song definitely captures the Christmas Spirit. Merry Christmas and enjoy your day today.

  • @mjpphhim always thought we should treat every day like it s Christmas...for those same reasons. imagine how awesome the world could be.

  • @vetb882 I agree xoxo

  • I love this version for the Ringa linga linga ding dong ding part. It makes this my favorite Christmas song and coincidentally the only one I can still tolerate.

And the Ronettes are pretty too

  • this is the best version ever!!!!

  • Still shit hot true class what a group i laugh when I hear Idiots like Madona who is not fit to clean Ronnies shoes

  • Almost christmas day again aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah :D:D:D:D

  • The reason for this version always being in the movies, is because it's the best!

  • This song, for me, signals Christmas TIME! I love all the religious songs and for me that is the #1 reason for the season. BUT, the Ronette's and this song together, makes Christmas for me!

  • @mjpphhim It captures the spirit of Christmas better than any other song out there.

  • i heard a remix of this. it was good :D

but still gotta love this christmas song, by FAR the best one!

  • Agreed! Best Christmas song ever! 2nd in place is "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas."

  • What happened to "giddy-up giddy-up lets go" and "the Christmas party at the home of farmer gray?"

  • @jackviolet21 thats in the original one. this is the best version! :) its the more upbeat one. :) they just added music instead of singing about a home of farmer gray or whatever. lol i like this one much much better.

  • Ok, Jimpsterz. Thanks. I just was just curios. I happen to be interested in accents anyway. No doubt some clever person could even pin-point from which part of New York City! Anyway, I appreciate your response to my question. I just love the sound of The Ronettes! For me, NOTHING beats the sounds of the sixties! As you Americans say; GROOVY! ;-) Or is that word a little 'square' these days?! ;-)

  • Ok, Jimpsterz. Thanks. I just wanted to be sure Ronnie (and the girls) had a New York City accent and it wasn't aquired from somewhere else or whatever. Anyway, I appreciate your response to my question. I just love the sound of The Ronettes! For me, NOTHING beats the sounds of the sixties! As you Americans say; GROOVY! ;-) Or is that word a little 'square' these days?! ;-)

  • Can any of you Americans on here tell me, what accent does Ronnie have please? Is it New York City, maybe?

  • @APRIL141958model The Ronettes were a 1960s girl group from New York City,

  • was it phil spector or the ronettes or someone else who came up with the idea of punctuating each verse with "ring-a-ling-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding"?

  • One of the best songs ever, only the Ronettes could sing this. Ronnie Spector is awesome. I'm 60 years old and remember when the Ronettes were popular.

  • @saca1951 The ronettes are dtill popular, im in France im 28 and i love some of their songs!

  • @Sublimation99 Hay thanks for the reply, This music will live on for decades. We will never see a decade like the 50's & 60's ever again. I glad you enjoy the music.

Check out the Beach Boys and the Crystals...Ray

  • I still remember one of the first times I heard this song...I was sitting in my living room and my dad had the radio on and it was snowing outside. And this song came on....and I have loved it ever since. And it always takes me back to that day.

  • Now THIS puts me in the mood to hear Christmas music.

  • Love this version!!

  • I also had a Ronnettes Sleigh Ride video but it got taken down because of WMG copyright claim. But, I kept it in My Videos and filled out the form just a few days ago and now it's back

  • aww i love this song it always makes me think of christmas

  • I always get a kick out of the backup vocals. Whose idea was the "ring-a-ling-a-ling-a-ding-dong-ding"? Was it the Ronettes or Phil Spector who first thought of integrating that into the arrangement? Or someone else?
