All you get are billion extra lives, just so you can get instakilled by all the cheap crap everywhere over and over. Every stage has thousand spots where you can't avoid being hit. 80% of the enemies are same shit that just hovers through everything to ram into you, laziest most tedious bullshit imaginable. And yes, did beat it.
If you think any of the X games are worse than this game, from a technical stanpoint, you're wrong. Bad and random level design, bad and random boss design, cheap difficulty, bad upgrade placement, and an impossible achievement (it would be possible to get the black zero armor without cheat coding, but it's impossible to do this (I think it's getting a certain nightmare level or something like that)). X game with more than a year of developent>X game with barely a year of development.

I don't think the game is bad, but some of the stages are just bullshit. The "Jumper" ability he mentioned can be only obtained by going into the alternate path as Shadow Armor X. The beginning part is hard without an air dash, and my first 4 tries there was a wall (random) in the alternate path room.

As for rewriting? Well, first of all, Zero would have been brought back by Proto Man, who built himself an upgraded back-up body to keep X and Zero's dumb butts out of trouble. Proto joins the team. And, instead of Sigma being behind everything...yet again... Gate would officially become the new "Big-Bad" of the X series.

I don't really get how you guys hate this game, this is probably the best challenging X series and the most easiest game I ever played. Getting the shadow armor and using it is bad ass considering that the ultimate armor is black as well with multiple upgrades you can combine with your character as long your ranking fast. I couldn't hate the series even though if its bad or not I still play it.

Let's see a quick rundown...we have a stage with a half-assed miniboss recycled FIVE TIMES, 2 stages in which a simple capsule is a Nightmare (pun intended) to get to even if you know where it is, the most bullshit crusher obstacle ever and the godawful spike whoring that is Gate's stages. If you get very little enjoyment out of a stage due to sheer frustration, you have the right to say it sucks. :3

This video shows every possible example of why X6 sucks. The stages have huge design flaws, the bosses (and I only mean the first 8), despite being OK, are unable to be that much of a shining quality, and it's so bad, they couldn't get the STORY right, which takes little effort in the first place being Mega Man. No other MM game has been more poorly made than X6...okay, maybe MMBN4. XD

I still don't see why so much hatred for X7. I think X6 is way, way, way worse. X7 was slow and such, but I still have to find a major bug as to dislike it as X6.
Mega Man X6 is an example of a big time fail because like Spyro 4 it was delivered ahead of time and, thus, incomplete. There is a big bad bug in the Gate stage after you defeat High Max if you use the Shadow Armor. It would glad Clement that you show it, maybe I can do it later. This game has many bugs and the Nightmare System Effect in Turtloid and Yammark stages is the most annoying thing I've seen in any videogame.
So you're definitely right about the nightmare system being random. Out of sheer boredom i played x6 today, and EVERY time i went to rainy turtaloids level it was DARK, i switched in and out of levels for over an hour and a half, and it was STILL dark, red space or not.
Somehow, i got through the level, but seriously, fuck the nightmare system.
@Vereava rainy turtloids and commander yammarks stage's are only dark if you chose infinity mijinion before them if you want the darkness in turtloids to go away you have to choose shield sheldons stage so that the x and zero bodys appear instead. some of the nightmare effects can actually be destroyed by the mavericks weapon in which that effect came from for example the iron blocks can be destroyed by metal shark players weapon and they only appear if you went to his stage before hand
Now that I have seen this abridged Let's Play, Clement, let's now make Megaman X 06/Rockman X 06 (in 05 seconds.) and Let's Play Megaman X 06! (in 05 seconds.) :)

actually, a lot of that stuff isn't random at all. The nightmare effects change depend on what level you completed last. And the Museum warp thing changes depending on how fast you beat the totem pole thing (if I recall correctly.)

I don't really get how you guys hate this game, this is probably the best challenging X series and the most easiest game I ever played. Getting the shadow armor and using it is bad ass considering that the ultimate armor is black as well with multiple upgrades you can combine with your character as long your ranking fast. I couldn't hate the series even though if its bad or not I still play it.

calll me a nerd but if you've played enough of the other megaman games, and I have played all of the original megaman games and megaman x1-7, as well as a couple of megaman zero games, you'd realize how they shit on the development team who was forced to come up with this game. it really is that bad in comparison, if it WAS the first megaman game ever made? not bad i guess

- the game had awesome music the battles where challenging and opponents like nightmare zero or virus X where fun to fight against. the extra armor power ups looked awesome besides just because the grammar sucks doesnt mean the game does and that pretty much was the only big problem the game had. i would also pick japanese voices over english ones everyday considering japanese voices are simple better for games/animes etc. need proof? listen to naruto say ´Believe it´ for 10min straight.........

@ZioIsPwnzor first off this is the only game i played from Capcom you dumb ass. second i played this game was i was 9 or something or 10 and unlike all you 40 year old virgins playing this game i liked it as a kid because i saw it for wat is was. a video game where you kill enemies fight bosses and find hidden armor upgrades while listening to the awesome music that plays throughout the levels. sure it had some minor errors like grammar issues but as a kid why the fuck would you care?

@lagorbian Bad level design, grammar errors up the ass (which a 5 year old can spot), and once again, bad level design. I played this when I was that young and I rage just as much as I do today. Oh, and that's not from a tough challenge. It's from, you guessed it, bad level/boss design. How is it bad? Well, the video above shows how. It shows every possible example I have.
By the way, I'm 19 and I see this game for what it is and how I saw it back then: How NOT to make a Mega Man game. =P

@lagorbian Yep, I've beaten the game and the last boss with both X and Zero, I totally suck. XD
Let's see a quick rundown...we have a stage with a half-assed miniboss recycled FIVE TIMES, 2 stages in which a simple capsule is a Nightmare (pun intended) to get to even if you know where it is, the most bullshit crusher obstacle ever and the godawful spike whoring that is Gate's stages. If you get very little enjoyment out of a stage due to sheer frustration, you have the right to say it sucks. :3

@UltimaKeyMaster yes you totally suck considering there where points where u started raging cause you couldnt win. also its not like the mini boss reycle gig was on every stage it was on only 1. and all of them where under different circumstances like raising fire or 2 at a time etc. its not like you fought the boss over and over again in the same room. also while the story may be weird this was a game for KIDS not adults. why the hell would a 9 year old care about story.

This video shows every possible example of why X6 sucks. The stages have huge design flaws, the bosses (and I only mean the first 8), despite being OK, are unable to be that much of a shining quality, and it's so bad, they couldn't get the STORY right, which takes little effort in the first place being Mega Man. No other MM game has been more poorly made than X6...okay, maybe MMBN4. XD

But yeah, I fucking hate those offscreen spikes in Commander Yanmark's stage. This is the first stage in the fucking boss weakness chain and you're fucked in that particular part unless you have Zero's double jump or you're extremely lucky/good at the game. Fuck X6.

Mega Man X6 is an example of a big time fail because like Spyro 4 it was delivered ahead of time and, thus, incomplete. There is a big bad bug in the Gate stage after you defeat High Max if you use the Shadow Armor. It would glad Clement that you show it, maybe I can do it later. This game has many bugs and the Nightmare System Effect in Turtloid and Yammark stages is the most annoying thing I've seen in any videogame.

So you're definitely right about the nightmare system being random. Out of sheer boredom i played x6 today, and EVERY time i went to rainy turtaloids level it was DARK, i switched in and out of levels for over an hour and a half, and it was STILL dark, red space or not.
Somehow, i got through the level, but seriously, fuck the nightmare system.

@Vereava rainy turtloids and commander yammarks stage's are only dark if you chose infinity mijinion before them if you want the darkness in turtloids to go away you have to choose shield sheldons stage so that the x and zero bodys appear instead. some of the nightmare effects can actually be destroyed by the mavericks weapon in which that effect came from for example the iron blocks can be destroyed by metal shark players weapon and they only appear if you went to his stage before hand
