La Laurentide IS a Molson Beer. It was never a stand-alone company bought by Molson, it is simply the branding used for the Molson Canadian beer in Québec. It's the same exact beer under different names, both brewed by Molson.

What I feel is truly awesome in this story is that in Québec (read where you live), Molson knew the "Molson Canadian" branding wouldn't work and instead opted to name the beer "La Laurentide".

I suppose not all of them share your enthousiasm about this country.

Well that is wrong.

Molson Export is a different beer. La Laurentide is however truly the same beer as the Molson Canadian, which is sold everywhere else in Canada. You simply don't see it here because it doesn't exist under that brand.... although I've seen some bars offer it.

I dont think it gets exported all that much save in a few border states just south.
