Helmand was recently curved out of Arachosia/Kandahar & was part of Khorasan. Nimruz & Farah is Sistan both being in Khorasan. Paktians were tributing to the kingdom of Kabul until 11th century & fought to the last against Arabs up until their elders decided to convert to Islam. It was not part of Khorasan.  Historically Peshawar is the second most important city after Kabul valley (not part of Khorasan) & can't be ignored just because of your bias.

I bet people of Peshawar cherish the name Afghan more than you & I do. Afghan is in their blood & regard themselves so. I lived in both Iran (three months) & Pashtunkhwa (5 years) before heading to Canada. I was humbled by the hospitality & kindness of local Pashtuns towards all Afghans regardless of the ethnicity as opposed to Iran.

U are wrong my friend, herati accent is similiar to the local village accents of eastern and south eastern Iran such as Sistan, Khorasan area and the language which is spoken in Hormozgan. I'am myself from southern Iran and speak bastaki accent of farsi, and I tested a lot of afghans in different afghani voice chatrooms and spoke in my own accent and many or almoust all of them thought it was herati in different rooms and times. LOL

Many businessmen live in Herat and Herat's location serves as a good edge for being the center of trading and stock market. Bordered with Iran and Turkmenistan. Plenty of Import and Export. Heratis have always been heavily involved in rebuilding Herat as well.

I can't believe how much it has grown and changed since I was there in 1973. I remember getting off the bus after a long HOT dusty trip from Istanbul. Stepping off into the dirt street & we were greeted with a man selling colored drinks in tall glasses with ICE. we all went for them immediately! Afghanistan touched me & it pains me to know what is happening to the lovely people there. May Peace Be Restored to Afghanistan.
