  • I bought one too ~ from Walmart, but had them assemble it for FREE, because I'm still recovering from reconstructive foot & ankle surgery; I love it! And I have pimped mine out as well... mine is Black Cherry colored so I call it my Chariot ~"Cherry-it~" to be cute. I also have that exact same toolbox, but I'm going to put my matching boom box in the back basket instead. I have side mirrors. Are you still riding yours?

  • I just got one it's silver and I love it

  • now if they made a mans version....

  • @trx1961 They do it's called the Schwinn® Adults' Meridian 26" Tricycle Cherry that's right cherry red don't get anymore manlier.

  • I heard these can fold. Does yours?

  • mines kinda clanging :(

  • After bought the my trike, I had to leave my old bike at the store bike rack for a couple of days. When I returned to retrieve the old bike, I tethered the bike to the basket with bungie cords. Once I was all set, I rode back home. It was kind of tricky because the cargo was wide and the sidewalks were narrow. It was a good thing that the basket didn't bend out of shape from the weight of the old bike.

  • The store that I bought my trike from had two trikes for sale for a couple of years and nobody ever bought them. So this past August, I said to myself "I wounder how things will be if I bought a trike from the store. When I took it out of the store, I wanted to try it out. When I did, the trike wanted to go it's own way and it was hard to steer. Maybe because I wasn't used to that kind of bike. But now, I can steer it just right. I bought the bike at K-Mart for a total of $330.00

  • How long did it take you to build the bike?

  • I have the same kind of bike. It's all pimped out now with the right accessories: 2 head lights, 2 mirrors, spedometer, horn, bell, handle bar grips, 2 tail lights, air pumper, etc. When I get off and onto a sidewalk, I have to be careful because the bike will tip to one side, depending on the angle of the ramp. It is not that bad when I ride the bike up a hill. The best way to do this is to grab the middle if the handle bar and slowly push it. Gosh I love it so much!!!!!

  • Why getting a tricycle? Why not a bicycle?

  • @sz1a ......multiple reasons might apply, bad knees, BAD BACK!!!, inner ear balance problems!!!, ligs and or tendon problems, muscular problems, a person who cannot ride a bike that must be balanced & that requires you also reach out to the ground with your foot when stopped, & you must hold your body & back upright, can often succeed instead using a TRIKE like this, that balances itself & your body does not sway when riding it, you remain steady & spine straight --- $250 at WALMART

  • ...and i bet by now that "tool kit" doesnt ever get used

  • omg i want one

  • Are these trikes easy to tip over?

  • @silliegirl50 No, they're pretty stable. I bought one coz I had balance issues after completely tearing a knee ligament while playing sports. The only problem I have with a Schwinn Meridian is it only has one speed, so when we moved to a house a bit farther from school and with hilly terrain in between, I had to leave my trike parked in the garage.

  • awsome got mine about more than a month now and its awsome. I never did learn to ride a bike so yeah had to adjust and ride a three wheeler. LOL. Got mine not so cheap and still have some accidents here and there.

  • Walmart for $248. Instructions are horrid! Ugh! Bought cherry red.

  • got min for 199!

  • now all u need is some tunes...

  • nice ride...where can i get one at??

  • What do these cost?

  • I bought mine at Walmart for $248

  • Yup I just got mine 3 days ago from Walmart. DON'T buy them on ebay they are ALOT MORE! The only thing I did not like was that it is only one speed. I am currently looking at a 3 speed conversion process, wish me luck lol. You can also get a 2yr warranty for $20.00 from walmart it pays to do so! Any questions just message me on here. I think they are better then the 20" and 24" other trikes. I'll post a vid soon but for now I love mine!

  • @buslaura

Hi , do u think its safe? my mom never learn to ride a bike , she is an almost 60 y/o very fit woman but she is so scared of falling dowm

    thanks

  • Worksman (American made) makes a folding adult trike with three speeds, drum and coaster brakes. I put 2000 miles of errands and dog exercise on it last year.

  • Excellent suggestion! Kudos to you for all those miles triking!

  • Hi, buslaura... I have really bad balance but want to be more active... I also have a large dog that needs more excercise..lol.:) My question is, is this thing good at going up hill or is it really tough...? Also do you think i could tie my dog to the back so she could run with me? Also sorry to be so long but, does it fit on the sidewalk?

  • Dear Number1WuFan,

You've got really good ideas...the trike is a perfect solution for getting more active with bad balance, and tying your dog's leash to the back of the trike should work fine. The trike fits fine on standard size sidewalk. My trike has only 1 gear, so hills can be difficult. I hope it works out for you! Good luck!

  • i`ve just falen in love with this bike

  • I like your video. I want one of these.

  • i agree adult trikes are not just for old folks no more..i just ordered mine...and im 15

now i got me a 80s volvo station wagon AND an adult tricycle...i am officially the definition of cool.

  • ahhaaaaaaaa

    nice

  • hows the ride (smooth guessing?) im pretty big bike person (owning 3 bikes myself) and i would love to have one of these..

guessing since everyone else is saying their age... im 26...

  • Dear NightlightFilms09,

It's a smooth rider most of the time...can be a little clanky when I'm going over rough terrain, but still comfortable. I LOVE IT!

  • did you buy this at canadian or american walmart- i want one! real bad im 27 years old and just want it for my small business of being a small town messenger and possibly expand for pizza deliverly.

  • Dear mybevy,

It from an american walmart. I ordered it online and took advantage of the free shipping option by having it shipped to my local Walmart store. Good luck with your business!

  • i'm a 22-year-old college student who drives a gas-guzzling suv and i've wanted one of these bikes for nearly a year now. i love them! too bad we college students can't afford much of anything! heh. i think it would be perfect for days where i can just toss my books in the basket and just go. i never once thought they were just for senior citizens! i just thought they seemed convenient!

and i love how you admit that you keep a tampon and maxi pad with you just in case! that made me laugh.

  • Dear otimram,

Thanks for your comment. I carry my supplies in a waterproof backpack now instead of the toolbox. The backpack is much more convenient to carry around with you once you've reached your destination. Another critical item in my supplies is a dollar store rain poncho.

I bought the trike from Walmart for $248. I hope you can find the money to buy one too cause it's great fun and extremely practical. Good luck!

  • Cool trike! I'm a 48 year old guy in good shape who is perfectly capable of riding "regular" bikes, but I have owned a couple of adult trikes in the past. They are just so much fun to ride, and very practical for "errand running". I do agree that adult tricycles are not just for "senior citizens" any longer. This may just be my very next purchase. Enjoy your trike!

  • Dear edwong3,

Thanks for your comment. I think we'll see a lot more of younger people buying trikes. Trikes are the SUVs of pedal-power! People like you and me can be the trend setters! Trike on!

  • Dear buslara,

Thanks for responding to my post:-) One particular three wheeled trike I owned years ago, was a Desoto Classic from Trailmate. While it was a good trike, sometimes when going around a corner, the rear axles would make a "popping" sound. That's the best way I can describe it. It seems that it is a common problem with some adult trikes. Is your Schwinn quiet while turning? Like I said, it didn't do it all the time, but when it did, I felt it was a little annoying, but not too much.

  • Hi edwong3,

Sometimes my trike has made some odd sounds / felt funny on fast sharp turns. I had to get the chain replaced last week...broke it in about four places...I suspect the wear and tear may have been related to those turns, but I may be wrong. The trike is back in action now with the new chain, and feels great...no complaints.

  • Thanks again for your reply! As I stated, the funny noises coming from the axles on the DeSoto Classic, were only during turns. And the thing is that is didn't happen all the time. I took it to the bike shop where I had bought it, and they couldn't figure it out. However I never had an issue with breaking the chain. However, I have also owned two Miami Sun trikes before, and neither had any issues with axle noises. Now that I think about it, the Miami Sun also performed better than the DeSoto.

  • My son just sent me this video because he thought it was totally hilarious that I just got the exact same tricycle 1 week ago and I was saying all of the things she was saying in the video. My kids think that I will look like a big nerd but I told them that with the present gas prices, I will look like one of the smartest people around. Besides, I too have been thinking about how to "pimp my tricycle". I am stealing the idea for the supply kit! Thanks so much for this video. It made my day!

  • Dear Ash4741,

Thanks for the comment...you made my day! My kids also think I look like a big nerd on my trike, but they secretly love riding it too! When laughed at, that's okay...let 'em laugh...we know we've got a good thing going!

  • Dear SCLady41,

I'm LOVING my trike!!! I've been riding it to the grocery store, the bank, the library, and to my Weight Watcher meetings. Biking is so much fun, and it is so rewarding knowing that while I'm doing it I'm getting exercise, saving gas, and getting errands done!

  • Okay, I have been checking these out online for like a month now. I am 42 with a 13 year old son and need to lose about 80-100 pounds. I know I cannot ride a regular bike but I am thinking of getting one of these for grocery store runs ect. Can you let me know how you like yours? Also, y'all rock...what wonderful parents you are!!!! I love your husband commentating too!!! What an awesome family :)

  • Good comment on the packing stuff. Those pieces threw me for a loop, too. And, yes, I've joined the gas protestors, too.

  • Thanks! You go girl!

  • NICE SUPPLY KIT. LOL.....

  • I'm ready (prepared)!
