This episode isn't about waiting until you're married. It's about waiting until BOTH people in a relationship are ready to make a physical commitment, respecting the choices of your partner, and not going elsewhere for something just because you're impatient and the opportunity is there.
Don't try to make it a marriage thing. Cor and Topanga may have waited, and that may be Topanga's choice to wait until marriage, but the lesson here goes beyond that. There's no shame in doing it beforehand.
I love that Eric gives advice that is sound, but not sugar coated or too absolute. He tells Cory to wait, but for reasons beyond "it would be a sin" or "otherwise you are morally bankrupt" or "you HAVE to wait til marriage". He gives reasons that are wise, but also reasonable, because many people do not wait that long., and as long as they are prepared for the responsibilities, that isn't unforgivable.
Those who say to wait to have sex really need to think about the effect that abstinence only education causes. It has increases risk of STI and teen pregnancy because after 6 months, people begin fornicating except this time, without condoms
If you want to wait for marriage, that's great. But don't pass judgment on those who don't. Instead of waiting for the special person, enjoy safe sex with other special people so when that special person does come along, you can make sure they keep cumming

Not all people will wait until marriage for sex. There is nothing wrong with that...Life is too short. Do what makes you happy. No one should be judged for whether they wait or not. The reason I choose to wait now I am 26, is because I promised myself this, I can give anything in this world to another person and it can mean nothing. But the only thing someone can truly give is who you are. Sex is giving your very soul to another, think about how cheap that becomes when it's being misused.
One day I can look into the eyes of the woman I love and give her my whole self. Even if you think it means nothing.

What you just said absolutely epitomizes just how overblown sex is. By all means, wait until you're comfortable.
