Good job on the playing. I'm currently trying to learn this piece, but I have trouble with the runs at 3:25 , so if you have any tips for me, I'd really appreciate it.
For those of you who were wondering---
Go to the website free-scores . com, and under Search choose Piano from the instruments list. Then type in Nocturne C Sharp Minor. In the results, the fourth link should be the right one.
You don't have to use finger 1 and 3. Use fingers that you feel comfortable (you can use finger 2 and 3). One more tip, practice makes perfect. I made lots of mistakes when recording this video...
And yes, Chopin took out the right hand for the middle, that's exactly how it should be and there is no mistake in the sheet music you found. It's an amazing styling technique to really show the dynamics of the piece and showcase his genius.
If you want to here an amazing recording, look up a track by Evelyn Douburg on this piece. it's the most amazing version of this song I've ever heard! It's so light and delicate. Pretty crazy cool!
That's weird you can't find the evelyne dubourg version. It's in one of those Time Life collections. The album I have it on is called "Masters Of Classical Music, Vol. 8 - Chopin" There are like 10 volumes in the collection with several composers devoted to one album. My guess is you can find it dirt cheap on amazon new/used or at your local library even. Check your library's website if it has one.
I love this song and can't seem to find the sheet music online for free at all, where did you happen to find it? It's my favorite song and I'm dying to get it.
There are at least THREE different manuscripts for this piece. One has the RH part, one doesn't. One has D sharp in the LH near the beginning, one has F sharp like the analagous places later in the piece. I suggest that you search for Rami Bar-Niv's performance on YouTube to find something that approaches a definitive version.
beautifully played. you got the right stuff in the piece and I think your piano sounds rather nice! my score doesn't have right hand in the middle part too.
in the pianist he played op.23 that saved his life (just so you know ;-) )

0:29-0.30 That C# is supposed to be tied
You should also try to play the piece a bit softer and widen your dynamic range
