Thanks. These owls are real regulars. I usually visit when I know they'll be most hungry - such as a sunny evening at the end of a wet day. I was just lucky in that they decided to hunt close enough to me for me to able to get some decent film.
When they're close, try 'squeaking' them. Make a long, soft kissing sound with your lips - they often come to investigate, honest! If you crouch down or stand against bushes while you do it, they'll sometimes come right overhead. Short-eared Owls too.
