HAHA does mortally wounded on this cartoon mean geting blasted by a thousand bullets to the chest and legs, losing your arm, getting your hand blasted by a shotgun, getting laughed at by the saying "WELL GIVE THE MAN A HAND" then shot in the head?
I wonder if the animated version of Clarence Boddicker shoves factories up poeples' stupid whoop asses, so hard they shit snow fopr a year... just wonderin'
By the way the secuel for this 12 episodes series was good as well ,its called : robocop alpha comando and tells the story of the terminator(sorry i meant ''robocop'')five years after this series...you should take a look to the opening...
Well... It was the '80s. If this series would had been made in this time and age, probably all those hipocrates that say "save the childre" would probably march in order to ban this tv seres. Damn. It was awesome, tv series. Brings back good old memories. Not long ago, I found the Robocop helmet I used to have as a kid, based on this tv series.
@thrashmetalfiend EVERYTHING got a cartoon or tie-in, regardless of the original content. And it's not like the base idea is unsuitable for TV-as Robocop the Series proved again much later.
Now things like Rambo the Cartoon, where they change the premise so completely it's something different entirely...
i loved this cartoon when i was a kid but it was on really early. i remember i had to wake up super early if i wanted to see it. but one morning i woke up and it wasnt on they cancelled it :(
wounded? did the cartoon not mention he got his hand blew off and tortured for the Police used his body to create a robot cop without his families permission?
I watched for first time when I was 4 or 5 years.. Murphy´s death marked me.Why they have to kill him like that... god it´s worst than a horror movie.
I don't know if you guys agree but, when I was a kid and watched this show, I thought that RED STRIPE on his helmet EXTEMELY RIDICULOUS and always made RoboCop look like an idiot! Do you agree? Now why they did that?
When I was a child, without knowing much the about the series (practically, I did not know the story), I thought that Robocop was a very strong common man wearing a suit that protected him against bullets or any other attack.
The original movie was unrated in the USA due many cuts (same happened in most countries). However, the cartoon and even the 1994 spin-off TV series were heavily toned down to apply for broader audiences.
I heard that there would be a remake of the original RoboCop film. When that comes out, I'll definately see that. And, I'll bet that the actor that would play the villain, Clarence Boddicker, would wear glasses like Kurtwood Smith did in the original. Who all agrees?
R rated movie turned into a cartoon lmao...also if you listen to commentary of part 1 dvd he was a visionary
i.e peter weller was like jesus when he got pelted full of bullets you suppose to feel sorrow and aadness.....after part1 or minimum part 2 EVERTHING assocated with the movie stunk
"hanzo138", agreed 80s were better, but still don't wanna see my childhood fave movie turned into a lame cartoon cartoon. Its like gi-joe cartoon, so pointless, just created to market their merchandise more.
however with millions of dollars i could guarantee you i'd make the best 'terminator vs robocop' movie EVER
"Mans last hope thinks like a man and thinks like a machine, because his part man part machine...he is ROBOCOP"
WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?! I was born the year robocop was produced and saw the movies later when i was old enough, but I NEVER remember there being a cartoon.

Right. The rest of the faults in Robocop 2 were excusable. The whole
Goodguy/Badguy thing made the movie unlikable. Like the writers betrayed us. The change gave the comic book writers a real headache. Oldman is Robocops ally in all pre R2 comics and cartoons, and against him , for no logical reason, in comics post R2. In the live action TV show Oldman was greedy but basically on Murphys side.
Right .Old Man was a goodguy in the first movie. The film ends with Robocop saving him. Then he asks him the same thing Lewis got in trouble with Morton for. The only villain at OCP is Dick Jones whos tied to the mafia. The execs like Jones & Morton dont like the old man because they are greedy and think he is old fashioned & will bankrupt the company with his dream of a crime free city.
Jones is getting payolla from Clarence to establish his gang in Delta City.
Im not knocking it. It was pretty true to original, more so than the sequels. The reason Marvel made it was as a cross promotion with their Robocop comic book. Notice that, like in the first film, The Old Man is clearly still a good guy. Same in the Marvel Comic. The change from generous to villainous is the one factor that many fans of the first film find inexcusable about the sequel and likely the reason Dan O'Herlihy walked after his contract was over.
This cartoon show was considered crap at the time. But considering what came after (Robocop 2, Robocop: the series, the Alpha Commando cartoon and the no budget Prime Directives miniseries) it was actually very faithful to the first movie.

True story is that this cartoon was originally too violent for kids. So they changed the real guns into red-pink laser weapons.

@MiniMackeroni I find it funny that switching them from ballistic projectiles to flesh-searing energy weapons somehow makes it o.k.
