7080 it sounds like a MARTIN? Cmon, your losing your hearing dude! :-) Taylor is nice, but I agree with your comment of too bright. Martin's can get too mellow and round at times I must admit, but this Taylor sounds pretty bright like the others. I just think your losing your hearing a bit if you say it sounds like a Martin :-)

Nice guitar man! I just got the same one (gs8). I'm a martin loyalist and dont usualy like taylors (too bright) but this one has a nice low end, better than any other taylor I'v played. Dare I say, it even sounds like a martin. Really well built too. The nicest spruce top I'v ever seen, not to mention the rosewood back and sides, soooooooo nice! Even the case is the nicest I'v ever seen! I dont regret buying this ax at all, infact, my martins are getting lonely

Yes sir! I also got a Grand Symphony (GS8) with expression system. AAAAA Very nice guitar! The recommended string guage is a surprizing 13-58 range. It is a cannon with 13's. 12's are great but about 15 pct less powerful. Great intonation, balance and quality workmanship. It took a few hours to feel 'broken in' The volume in the last year has actually INCREASED. The sound is distinctively Taylor but sort of between Martin and a Gibson. The 1 3/4" nut was a big factor for a 14 fret guitar.

Was looking at some Breedloves and this guy was gushing on about how his guitar is better than Taylors twice the price and Taylors have cosmetic production flaws!!I like Breedloves but this guy was deluding himself big style!I think he was seeing what he wanted to see!Muso`s are a funny lot arent we?

Breedlove doesnt have some pretty good guitars but no chance are they better than Taylors. The only reason they'd have flaws would be if if they got beat up either in shipping or by someone playing them. Taylor owns Breedlove in terms of tone especially.

I played a Taylor GS8e at Guitar Center on Thursday and it was the best guitar I've ever played. I am saving up for one this summer cuz its like $2400 but its totally worth the money, keep up the guitar playing man, God Bless, Tyler Emond

i've got a GS big leaf maple with spruce top. I've had it for a year now, and i STILL can't find anything that beats the sound...

Believe me, i've tried EVERY model and maker. A breedlove came close, but it was 5,800 dollars. Mine was 2,000. My taylor still beat the breedlove, and thats my favorite guitar company.... :)

Yes I tried the maple version and it was stunning, problem was three days before I had just bought a very nice Gibson, and tho I had an approval period I decided to keep it.

Yes the maple version is exceptional.
