  • Monkey see monkey do!! it is a very truthful video because this is how children are

  • Both my parents smoked and drank, and I do neither. This video is exceptionally true, however I would stress that above and beyond setting a good behavioural example, it is important to establish a mutual rapport of understanding and respect with children. Relate to them as human beings and explain things thoroughly - the world... yourself... and furthermore, listen to what they say, too. It's a shame, because I believe being a good parent is -very- difficult, and so many take the easy way out.

  • Brillant.

  • every parent should watch this, once a day, everyday from the moment they learn they are going to be a parent till the day the child is grown up. Thus ending most wars, some greed, and perhaps the prison system might experience a decline in its populace for once in its entire existance.

  • the part between 1.10-1.17 is so true. when boys see their fathers treating women like objects they do the same, children from Domestic Violent backgrounds are hurt so much, they don't know right from wrong. they think its ok to hit and yell. they (boys) think its ok not to respect women, or treat them right. and girls grow up believing that this is what a relationship is like, and then when they are older they put up with bast*rds like that.

  • this isnt sad. the reality is people are horrible and parents are horrible ppl. nobodys perfect. in fact this video shows that parents are acting like children in the way that they dont know how to control their anger/emotions

  • This is advert is amazing and yeah I agree it should be on in the UK, the video is so true. Like i'm studying childcare with the "monkey see monkey do" And how it can have an impact from parents behaviour can influence childre. It also goes to show that it's not the child's fault that they are either agressive or "horrible" it's the parents fault. Although parents will disagree this actually shows proof.

  • poor asian guy

  • @FeelAloneInc yeah they should have a monkey in his place that would be more realistic.

  • Very very very good! Now if only we could influence Katey Perry and Lady Ga Ga to watch this...

...oh wait, they already know their influencual powers, that's why they do what they do.

  • Children See, Children Do it 10x cuter

  • why cant this be an advert on the tely in the UK??? Show up a few people for a start!

  • Kids pick up anything that seems new at a young age. With out them having a clear understanding they continue to do it because of the ppl and surroundings.Adults are to blame, kids just dont know any better

  • Damn It I could have used this video for my presentation I wish I would have found it earlier lol

  • I am so glad I was raised by like, five different people when I was a kid. I didn't become like any of them, because they all did things differently. As a kid I realized I had to find my own way of doing things, and just because an adult is doing it, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. I wish all kids knew this. Most of my classmates just follow their parents words and actions without thought. They say they're Christian or Republican without knowing what those words even mean.

  • @dragonofthedarknight you probably have many behaviours that have been modelled on things you have seen and grown up with without even realising it.

  • @tonimajic2008 Yes, but I wasn't raised by just one culture or person. Moving from a continent to a different one, being raised by up to five different people, it all made it so that I came up with mostly my own way of thinking about things. Most of my classmates think they're a religion or subscribe to a political idea because their family and neighbors are part of it. I don't do that. And if I ever join a way of thinking, I actually think about it first, which most people don't.

  • @dragonofthedarknight I get it but that does not mean others don't think about their choices. I was brought up by a family and when I was a teenager I chose my way despite being disowned. I did a lot of thinking and soul searching and decided that the religion we belonged to was not founded on true principles. I was young, alone and it was very difficult to go against the grain but I did it and suffered the consequences but I was resolute in my decision.

  • Love the cocept, hate that it's true...

  • Very strong video, a clear view of Bandura's social cognitive theory.

  • Just because your parent smokes pot means you'll smoke pot, and just because your parent dosn't do shrooms means your child will do shrooms, you think the first person that discovered the middle fingure learned that from his parent, no he had a choice weather to continue doing it or not. I curse like hell and my parents don't even curse.

  • @giovannimartinezm5

While perhaps implied, it never directly says that the adults are parents. Just that children mimic adult behavior. Chances are you learned to be a pot smoking shroom addict that curses from adults, or from children who learned it from adults.

  • @SmilingLiips hmm good point lol but im not a pot smoking shroom addict that curses lol well the curseing part it right :P

  • @giovannimartinezm5 you learned it from someone else. It is not just parents that are models and we learn things as adults too, not just as children. I never swore until I was in my 30's. I became desensatised to it because of surroundings.

  • hahah...des video is voll witzig xD

  • This is soo sad -- watching children imitate the anti-social behaviour of the same people that brought them into this world. Such an effective video!

  • Wow... poignant. I cried. This is obviously the case, sadly.

  • Sorry mr levi

  • Retarded vvvvvvvvvvv

  • Thanks, just showed my students the Bobo doll experiment in Psych class and this video added nicely to that.

  • @mattvt00 you're tight

  • @mattvt00 you're awesome

  • @mattvt00 ur a teacher?

  • goosebumps.

  • just... wow.... it's said pretty often, but how many people really take things like this seriously unless they see it for themselves? Very powerful...

  • very sad :(

  • Sad

  • This made my stomach sink.

  • When I used to see "naughty" children I used tho think "why haven't the parent done anything about this behaviour?", but now that I'm a parent myself and seeing this clip, really reinforces that we make our kids who they are by our behaviour because they model themselves on us - I know is stops me in my tracks and makes me think - I hope it does the same to anyone else that watches this

  • The habits of this generation become the standards of the next.

  • awww that advert is fantastic I think they should put it on telly in the UK :D

  • HAHAHA GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM

  • This is a major reason why I stopped smoking, and why I never drink around kids.

  • not new theory how much kids follow their parents in everything specially on the first years from their growth .

  • poor dog D=

but its true, disfunctional parents means fucked up kids

  • Yeah deffo quite creepy watching this, but it actually happens.

  • its true

  • hmm, interesting video, this is social cognitive learning theory by albert bandura. this video is illustrating that learning is through observation and that imitation shows how effective learning is.... from the video i realize that learning can be affected by awareness of punishment ot reinforcement. in the video it is quite evident that, the behaviour is reinforced because the child models the parent

  • You may not care what another child does until that child grows up and becomes a criminal. Then he could commit crimes that may very well affect you or others you know. Look at the affect that one person had on society. Ted Bundy, the Boston strangler, the uni-bomber, etc. As a society we should all try to provide positive role models for children. Those children will grow up one day to be adults that could a part of government or your child's teacher at a day care or school, etc.

  • Extremely powerful indeed. It's scary how much children can learn just by observing what older people do. Sad, but true.

  • love this

  • Very powerful message. It's sad to think that it is very true though.

  • This is VERY well made. it's a big eye opener!

  • And that is why I'm not going to be like everyone else & actually be a positive role model and make a change.

  • further proves that we should be positive role models for our kids. very powerful.

  • this is a wonderful video. thank you for opening up my eyes.

  • Portrayed a beautiful message

  • No it wasnt. Your comment sucks.

  • Great video, I saw this on TV a while ago, very impacting ad!

  • Great Video!

  • I've got tears...wow..that is powerful.

  • man.this struck me.

    it made me cry.

    its amazing

  • What a fantastic ad!

  • I cried too! Its so sad to think of all the children out there who are following the pattern of their parents because they believe its "normal" behaviour. This video does such an amazing job at highlighting the importance of being a positive role model to our children!

  • that made me cry it was so good

  • This video is excellent and totally conveys the truth. I hope to see this on T.V.

  • Poxa vídeo muito legal, criativi... me ajudou muito no trabalho da faculdade!!!! Adorei

  • This is a message that needs to be heard more often.

  • wow the child and dad beating up the mother , OMFG!

  • Wow! Very powerful. It is amazing how watching the adult's behavior gets little reaction, but watching the child imitate the behavior is so shocking... Thank you for this!

  • very nice i am going to Download it!

  • thank you for this video

i am going to use it for a presentation on role models. I'm hoping people will find it as effective as i do!
