Oh please, how many teams have repeated in the zone era? Zone was legalized before the 2001-2002 season and we've had some great teams such as Lakers, Spurs, Pistons...but none of them could repeat. Today's defense > MJ's defense.
@peterdabest94 Lets not forget Jordan ave 20 in this era as a 38-40 year old..And had some great scoring game moron...Jordan scored 51 in this era age 38 think about what he would do in his prime...Learn the game moron...Jordan would dominate this weak era...No d in this era at all..
We started booing jordan after the famous shot in the 89 playoffs, he was definetly a cavs killer and we never forgave him for that.. I think we just pissed him of more cuz he always scored a ton on cleveland.. He was one of the best thats for sure, i guess it aint too bad to get beat by the best
peterdabest94, if you know the game and watch close its not that it was easy to get to the rim, Jordan is just a genious, if you watch close he always attcked the rim when you double came and went the opposite way of the doulbe team and they was sending the centers out to double therefore leaving no one in the lane, he attacked the double instead of running from it. And the Bulls kept 3 point shooter on the floor so if you look when he couldnt shoot he kicked the ball out, watch when pip hits
They might have played terrible defense in this series but it was far harder to get to the rim back then. Then they could double off the ball, now thats illegal and back then they had no 3 second rule for centers, so centers could just stand in the lane and contest now centers cant wait. Go to Michael Jordan vs real defenses and youll see todays defense is bullshit and if you dont believe that google Joe Dumars/ Tex Winter death of defense, i think theyre both the most qualified
NOT...He's that good. I can get to the rim easier against today's ballers because it's pathetic how they altered the rules so today's players can score more. Mike would feast on the soft league we watch now.
I agree. It is BS. It's BS that players today get to be bailed out by zone D instead of playing a man straight up. What's the point of DPOY these days? Harder to get to the rim? Maybe you're right. Easier to get to the free throw line these days? Hell yea.
@peterdabest94 Are you out of your mind child??? People would crowd the lane in that era moron...Today defensive 3 seconds leaves the lane wide open..Plus with no hand checking it is much easier today to get to the rim moron...Your too busy riding kobes dick faggot.
@peterdabest94 you are and idiot he would dominate today. the defense was tougher then it was back in the 80s and early 90s. more physical and hand checking... moron.. he gets to the rim so easy because he is the Greatest...
I love game 3 of this series because MJ had one of his worst games in game 2 on Thursday in Chicago (a rare home loss blowout). I believe he had 17 or 19 first qtr points and it was evident the Bulls would run away with the game in the opening minutes.
I agree, that any year he was in a bull uniform, he simply dominated the competition. I personally like the years between 1991-1993, he had both the explosive moves, the jump shot and tenacious defense, and he played with a certain bervado.
Those were the glory days, what a joy to watch. I would say the move at 2:45 is my favorite, just beating nance. I would say he was at his absolute best in 92 or 93.
After all, "hang time" is merely misperception - there is no such thing. Even Michael Jordan, who can jump as high as anybody who has ever played in the NBA, cannot defy gravity. Instead, he could easily be called one of the strongest guards/players the league has ever seen, considering that he simply shoots the ball on the way down, whilst avoiding countless defenders - a feat that requires a lot of upper body strength.
I forget how Jordan killed them this series. I mean what do you want? Footwork, beat the double team, either hand, elbow jumper, take the contact, move without the ball, ball fake, head fake. All of this is basic stuff but he makes it look so special. And NOBODY else can do it like him. Look at 7:08-7:11 and the replay. DAM
Peep the footwork on the move starting at the 4:23 mark.. you just don't see footwork combined with that kind of quickness in a 6'6 guard like that anymore..
How I wish Michael Jordan never sustained long injury in early 1986, how i wish he hadn't retired in 1993...what greatness he could have been...had he been that, there would only be very few individual records left unbroken. Yet with all those wishes, he still the best player in my mind.
Hind sight is always 20/20 my friend. dont forget. How you wish MJ didn't retire in 1993 he would have retired by '94 for sure. 10 yrs of pro NBA would have finished him forever. Just say thanks to MJ that he only played 3 yrs at UNC & won the NBA rookie honors in '85his supposedly 4th & final UNC year. If MJ came out in '86, he would have been injured as a rookie & lost rookie honors to Ewing. Be thankful that Pistons pushed MJ's 1st championship to his 7th pro year.
Had MJ won his 1st championship in his 5th or 6th yr by 1990 defeating Portland in '90s finals, he would have retired forever by '91 itself. 1st time MJ ever spoke of retiring early & pursuing baseball was in '91 to his dad. Like I said, hindsight is 20/20. MJ the amount of energy he spent both offensively & defensively was at best 7 yrs pro in NBA when it was at its toughest offensively & defensively. Impossible to play 12 NBA seasons at this level of playing CONTINUOUSLY. Its impossible...
MJ's '86 career threatening injury gave him an insight into expanding his game & playing less recklessly. as rookie, MJ played as a free safety, floating around wildly, jumping crazily, could have destroyed his knees long time ago. From '87 onwards, he became smarter, efficient & much much more lethal player both offensively & defensively. '86 injury gave MJ & bulls coaches time to reflect on MJ's abilities & protection. Helped him out till '93. A virtual injury free career from '87-'98.
I like your comments. I think about that quite a bit as well. MJ had considered retirement after '91 season because he had accomplished what he wanted to do as an NBA player - win a champ. But that drive and love for the game made him stay for two more years. You could tell how tired he was in 93 season after Olympics...he willed himself into playing that year to three-peat! Thankfully the love for the game brought him back in 95 and 2001!!!!
Great footage. Keep up the great work. You and I are keeping MJ's games fresh beyond just the famous highlights. Your compliation style shows how many incredible moves MJ did on a game-by-game basis. This array of moves and insane athleticism and skill will never be matched. Enough hilights in one game for most players for the entire year. MJ's hands and hops can't be bought.
Nice video. Jordan athleticism is insane. Everything her does is so smooth. Lol @ Danny Ferry..I always remember everyone wanting to kick his ass. Jordan was about to blast him.
I have seen better quality and close up of this action at NBAPremium(.)tk you should go there to see this action

What is often forgotten is how strong Michael must be to be able to make moves similar to the one around the 7:10 mark.
