I just put these things on a few days ago. My red pad came off because of a bubble that had formed, so I needed a replacement. This does reduce noise, and I noticed it is easier to do rolls. Really good for $20. These things are thick, but I haven't noticed any decrease in drum head sensitivity whatsoever, which was a concern for me. Good product for the price, and they look good, too.

i find my problem is the force travels throgh the drumset into the floow, hence the loud noises and annoyed neighbours along with people downstairs.... i cant these would help that.... would they?

they look the part but doesnt look as though the same pressure is applied during the test, anyway the experts approve good enough for me

Yeah I got the Ion's for Christmas; I love the pads they have GREAT rebound and respond fantastic; HOWEVER; The Roadie (Stock) Pedal it comes with is not very responsive. Overhits on occasion, and does not feel comfortable to the foot when hitting it. I recommend the Destroyer or the RockPedal...

They basically quiet the pads every time you hit, and have a better bouncy-ness for drum rolls. In some ways they might help pick up pad misses. So in a way it does improve performance of your drum kit.

To my understanding... These are just pads and wont fix problems with double hits or over hits. They will just make it quieter and have better rebound.

They don't exactly make your drum pads any quieter.....they just make them produce a different noise which is practically just as loud as if they weren't on.
