  • Nice video. All humans have a God given right to self defense and although alot of governments would have the people believe otherwise, NO ONE can take that away. Guns are simply the most effective practical tools for that job. Dave Grossman wrote a great article that you can easily find online. Its called "On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs". I would highly recommend everyone reads it.

  • a-human-right on the web.....

  • In my personal opinion, every adult is at least partially responsible for their own self defense as a vast and overwhelming military or police force defending our rights is quite impractical. Adults should, then, have a right to self defense. Because a handgun is a concealable weapon that allows for the weak to protect themselves against assault from stronger individuals, it should be a right in first world societies (given that you are a law abiding citizen of legal age).

  • American citizens will always have the right to bear arms. Always. America is unique in the fact that the country is run by the people, the government is run by the people, and with the small resources avaliable, and the restrictions applied, we have come out on top of the rest of the world. Now, government is trying to tip the balance, and you are noticing America is slumping down. People run the country, the country does not run the people. That is why America has the 2nd Ammend.

  • LEGALIZE WEAPONS IN HOLLAND! (EUROPE)

Its insane that im forbidden to protect my kids from criminals, what am i gonna do when 4 armed men are raping my kids while i cant have and guns? If guns were legal i would shoot them.

  • The right to defend oneself extends beyond borders. We as a people (human race) should never give up this right. It's great to see younger people (especially women) exercising this right. Don't let anyone bring you down.

You made the choice to defend yourself, and your loved one's, and you chose to use whatever tool of your preference. Haters are gonna hate. Go girl!

  • To argue whether or not citizens should carry firearms, I'd need to know why Americans are allowed to do so. I have never heard an acceptable reason for this.

  • @exoskeletonsz If you were to ban guns, guns would still make their way into the hands of criminals. Consider the "war on drugs". There are entire organizations dedicated to removing all drugs from our country. They have all FAILED! It's important for citizens to own guns for this very reason. The reason we should carry them is because the police will never make it to a gun fight before it's already over. Just search for Kwik Stop Armed Robbery. The man was in and out in less than 1:30.

  • @exoskeletonsz Where are you from? I'm curious because my opinion of merely having gun control is unpopular with other folks here in the US, but even i would never dream of having them banned.

  • ban pools, they cause more deaths than guns

    the silent killer

  • I know its inapropriate to say, but i'm surprised that I don't see a lot of posts about how adorable you are. Your cute, you seem very open, and you are smart enough to defend yourself. There aren't many women out there like you. I'm also a CCW holder and plan to instruct fairly soon out here in Utah. Keep safe and I hope your message makes it out to more women.

  • Other countries made their decision, either through apathy or active forfeiture of their rights to their government for perceived protection.

It pisses me off when they try to impinge OUR liberties

  • The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand arms, like laws, discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside … Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."

    Thomas Paine

  • "Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."

    George Washington

  • You have the correct ideas. Just learn more about the fire arm laws and crime rates in other countries . Also remember that you live in the last free country in the world. If not then why does the UN want to take away our fire arm rights? (retorical) What business is it of theirs anyway?

    You go girl!

  • I don't know if you are aware that in many other countries it is very risky to use force to protect yourself. Often there are laws allowing equal force and it is not as clear cut as it is here. Protect yourself or family and you may end up in prison. Even pepper spray is illegal in many areas. It's crazy. I can't imagine living somewhere where I am not fully allowed to protect myself. I had to do it once, luckily I didn't have to shoot the guy. lol I just took his pants.(Insert evil laugh here)

  • I think you are spot on with this vid. I also think that lots of people in other countries believe the gov is responsable to take care of them to a much greater degree than in the US. I have heard many times the police are there to protect you, the gov looks out for us ect. In general, the US does not have that attitude. We take care of ourselves and a gun is an important tool to help us do that.

  • 6/28/10 US SC rules on 2d Amend. Justice Thomas pointed out the 14th recognized the 2d "privilege" to protect citizens from the tyranny of state governments. 9th guarantees that the "natural right" to life/liberty was not narrowed by the 2d. Thomas nailed this one, he showed how gun control was oppression of blacks and abolitionist following Civil War, 14th was to stop it. Google Big Government Breitbart, then search: Judges, Guns and Money: Part II

  • why are Australians beginning to change their minds

  • When I was younger and more naive I too believed that the US was full of guntotin' idiots who still had some kind of wild west thing going on. The reason for this is that in Europe, the anti-gunners use the US often as an example for why guns should be banned: statistics show that there's a lot of guns in your country and also a lot of crime and they simply link them and consider that a good reason for restriction of gunownership. BS, I know now, but most people who don't know guns believe it.

  • Who cares!

  • The constitution give me the right to bear arms and I was also a soldier. Have you ever served your country or are you just an armchair liberal?

  • each year 3,600,000 homes are invaded in the us and 60% of those end in rape if that's not enough of a reason to own a gun than i don't know what is.

  • You are absolutely right. The police are not even required to 'save' you (though of course they typically do try to, IF they get there in time). People should understand that the police usually take the report and try to catch the bad guy - they can't stop the crime. That's the "victim's" job.

    Favorite tag line:

Why do I carry a gun? Because a COP is too heavy.

  • so far you have 1 thumbs down,i'm proud to cancel that 1 out,i'm also proud of this girl, who like so many of us believe that the rights given to us by our founding fathers are for our own protection, against criminals and tyrants.

  • ok, it is not a percieved right. it IS a right. it is written very speciffically in the 2nd ammendment, not the right to self defense. It goes beyond that, without the 2nd, none of the others can be protected. just like your right to say what you want about whatever you want. like on videos like this. just like the RIGHT of people to not be slaves. just look at the first ammendment zones in nyc. why is this allowed? because the government has disarmed the people, and is not afraid of them

  • kmon now, you cant fight the guberment with forks and spoons

  • You're wrong about the Canadian gun laws, saying they are very strict. In Canada, we just can't have fully automatic firearms. Canadians actually have a very similar amount of small arms per-capita as americans. :P

  • @davidyee

I am Canadian and we are quite restricted here..And even though we technically have CCW, it is never issued.I wish things here would change. We need more freedom.

  • @davidyee

Gun laws in Canada ARE strict compared to the U.S.

I.E. in most states, we don't need to pass safety courses before purchasing rifles. We don't need to pass another safety course before purchasing hand-guns.

We don't need to register them(in most states) and we can get carry permits in the states. We also do not have silly limitations on barrel size for handguns...

  • I carry a gun because i'm too old to take an asswhooping, too young to die, & a cop don't fit in my holster very well =)

  • More deaths in America are caused in CAR accidents each year than the amount of deaths by gun in 7 years!!

Deaths by guns are almost ALL done by criminals. Law abiding citizens are responsible folks for the most part.

My family and friends all have guns and field training to know the laws and how to use their weapons.

Make sure to get your concealment permit in your state if you are able and take a couple of other classes like Defensive Handgun and Night Defense. Most attacks are at night!

  • @Pinstripedtie Interesting but lets look at a country with a similar culture but tighter gun control: Austrialia.

Based on the latest stats I could find 65 Australians died from gun gun fire, 11,127 in the USA. Suicides not included. This is just not right!!

Compared to any other developed country the USA has shocking statistics when it comes to protecting its citizens from guns and the people who use them.

  • People in other Countries are SO SMART!! NOT!!

Why did the people in the UK have their rights taken away?? And WHY did crime go up by 45% and on the rise??

    How about Australia?

Us law abiding Americans NEED to carry to keep crime low and to protect ourselves from our government!!

Without guns, the next would be freedom of speech and so on... then the government would rule over us completely.

We the people are suppose to rule over the government tho many have forgotten this fact!!

  • @Pinstripedtie i agree.

  • @HARTSYSTEMS What the hell are you referring to regarding MY comments?? I think you need to read things with more patients and understanding before ASSUMING WRONG speculations!!

  • @ssssroryssss2 OMG!! What a moron!! This response deserves NO reply. Bye Bye!!

  • @Pinstripedtie @Pinstripedtie It's not moronic, it is the truth. We just don't view guns with the same eyes as Americans. Infact, if you pull out a gun in a fight, your more likely to be called a "pussy" for not using your fists or a knife. I'm not saying that there aren't any illegal guns here, they're just extremely rare even in the poorest neighbourhoods. The big problem here is knifes. Most Police patrol with stab vests not bullet vests.

  • @ssssroryssss2 If you live in that Country, then in this regard, YOU too are a moron as all of your fellow citizens there!! Guns are needed and I am not going into it here as you can do your own research if you so choose to. I'm done with this thread.

  • @Pinstripedtie The bit I said about the Priminister not being above the law was proved when ex priminister Blair during the "cash for honors" scandle came to light as he was called into questioning by the police. You have to remember that British culture is still very different to America, one example of this is it is not uncommon here for complete strangers to start talking to eachother even in the strangest of places. From what I hear (I'm aware I maybe wrong) that rarely happens in America.

  • @Pinstripedtie After talking was my Americans friends, I apologise, the bit about talking to strangers was wrong, sorry.

  • @ssssroryssss2 You are correct, gun crime has not gone up in the UK however index crime in general has been going up at 3-4% a yr. Does it really make a diff if you are shot & killed vs beat to death, or killed with a knife? Being female, what stands out to me is the drastic increase in index crime against women in the UK. It was lower than the US but 15 yrs later it is just shy of 2 1/2 x higher than the US.

  • @shananagans5 I'm not sure about judging a place purely by analysing crime statistics as they are impossible to prove 100% correct. Personally Judge a place by word of mouth and atmosphere. I live in York which is a relatively safe and friendly place but in the 80s/90s when the North generally suffered depression under the last Tory government, crimes like vandalism and car crime were quite high, I remember once seeing a burnt out ambulance. The City of Hull was a dump but is now regenerating.

  • @ssssroryssss2 I am not judging, I really like most of the people I know in the UK. I would love to visit. I am a criminologist / forensic psych and the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US are my main intrists. I was actually just graduating in 97 and was scheduled to go to the UK with a group to do a crime study but it was cancled because the UK banned outside verification of their crime stats when they passed strict gun control. They did give up on that but I had already missed my chance to go.

  • @shananagans5 That is very strange, I'm not exactly certain why they did that. Well most of the politicians here don't even know how to open the door of 10 Downing Street and are sooo affraid of public opinion they have a nurse in their entourage in the event of a "code 2" emergency, rapid bowel movement. I'm in the same boat as you, I do have online Amerian friends who aren't gun totting cowboys from TX and I do wish to visit all of the USA, maybe go and meet the aliens in NV :D

  • @ssssroryssss2 It was shocking when our trip was cancled. We had about 20 people set to go. Our intent was to document crime levels at the time of the ban so there would be a reference for future studies. We were going to be there over a yr. That is how I want to see the UK. I want to have enough time somewhere to see what its like to live there, not just do the toursty stuff

Aliens? lol I live in New Mexico. Seeing lots of funny things in the sky. Oh Wait, we are having balloon fiesta now. lol

  • @Pinstripedtie America is unique in the sense as we have the constitution. we are a sovereign nation unlike the UK which is still a kingdom. the people there are subjects not citizens like us. our fore fathers won their freedom from the barrel of a gun, and they were wise to put the 2nd amendment in constitution.

  • @Pinstripedtie We've already lost various liberties, though people fail to notice. Luckily, those who wish to disarm us (possibly the most dangerous move our politicians could make) have had a lot of trouble getting it to stick. However, they'll keep trying... so it's important to keep in mind what is at stake and what might happen to a disarmed society.

  • Forget about rights, constituional laws, etc. because we already inherit them. Here is the reason why everyone with a sound mind should have a gun.

PROTECTION! You don't need laws for that..it is SELF PRESERVATION JUST LIKE DRINKING WATER AND EATING ARE. It is a God Given Right. Who is above God?absolutely nothing. If you have ever been the victim of a crime or know someone who has and if you had to do it all over again.guess what.? Someone with sound mind would be packing the next around.

  • silentrunThe1st ...great comment,thumbs way up....

  • @silentrunThe1st very true brother.

  • The United States is UNIQUE and we don't follow everyone else and we do stand up for what we want and believe.

The bottom line is that gun control only hurts the people who play by the rules! There's a very good chance that the murderer didn't just get his handgun permit an hour before killing someone. If a country or state takes away guns from all its law abiding citizens they become easy prey to any nut with a gun!

It IS chiched but ... guns don't kill people; PEOPLE kill people!!!

  • @mag2b YOU ARE CORRECT!! Guns are simply a tool, just like a hammer. Now for those against guns, should we outlaw hammers or how about cars?? Geez... I could go on and on... it is sad to say that this world harbors a lot of ignorant people!!

  • Self-preservation is a basic human function. Machines used as force equalizers are a natural extension of this function in an industrialized society. Thank god for these simple machines and their role as force equalizers in defense of person, property, liberty, autonomy, castle, family, the list goes on.

Guns should ALWAYS be a right.

Even if you don't agree with the NRA, you should join (this goes for anyone reading). They are our most important lobby in Washington. Support them!

  • We must remember that American liberty is based on the idea of self-policing. Americans expect each other to obey the law. We have 700,000 +/- law enforcement officers to watch over 300,000,000 people. American law enforcement is very reactionary. The right to bear arms allows us to care for ourselves in the event of a deadly threat without the need to make police officers of half the population. The use of the firearm itself keeps a level field regardless of physical fitness.

  • So when you reach in your bag to get the brick, the badie robbing you will just laugh, shoot you, and continue robbing your now dead, corpse.

  • so your calling the u.s army pussies?

  • No, people kill people, a firearm is an inanimate object that can do nothing without a person manipulating it, guns don't go off by themselves!

  • grate vid hun

  • Defiance to and rebellion from tyranny is a virtue not a vice and the people of Europe have suffered greatly for failing to appreciate this. You are correct in considered self defense a fundamentally human right, and not simply a privilege of US citizenship. The right to self defense implies the acquisition of the means of self defense and this implies personal gun ownership. Concerns about the consequences of personal gun ownership are based on ignorance and rooted in hoplophobia.

  • People often speak as if the US is the only nation with gun rights, but practically speaking this is far less the case than most people think. Usually when people say things like the west of the world they are really talking about the UK, France, Germany and a few other Western European nations. Scandinavian and Eastern European Nations (especially the Czec Republic and Finland) have fairly permissive gun laws and Switzerland has a comparable gun culture.

  • Brazil is another country with a gun culture similar to ours.

  • Very well thought out. To further agree: America has gone through a multitude of changes, since it was a "young" nation. It won its independence based of the fact that people HAD guns, not because they had a constitution "protecting" that right. The constitution, as a document, did not include the right to bear arms. that right and many others were "included" in the BIll of Rights, where our unalienable rights were stated. Without arms-bearing militia our country would neve have been "founded."

  • I could see certain types of guns being illegal or looked upon as bad (For instance, a sniper rifle isn't going to be a self defence weapon) but all in all you should have the right to defend yourself.

Even the simple act of pulling a gun on someone can be enough to scare them away, and if not you can simply pull the trigger and it eliminates the threat.

Guns are extreamly efficient modern tools that everyone should have ready access to in case of emergencies with few or no exceptions.

  • Any decent Deer Rifle in the hands of a competent shooter could be considered a Sniper Rifle

  • 5 stars!

Grandma in Canada could stop a mugger...if only she could legally own a handgun.

    But...

    1) there's so much red tape to get it legally, most don't go there.

    2) public perception in Canada is very much "guns are dangerous", not so much "ILLEGAL guns are dangerous".

    3) The Brady bill failed, British gun bans failed, Australian gun bans failed. None have significanly reduced violent crimes.

    4) Dirty Harry is dangerous...to the hoods. I can respect that. Clint rules.

    Cheers.

  • "I am Alive. I have the right to Life. I Have the right to protect & keep that Life. The Constitution gives me the Right to have the means to Protect that Life."

  • You get a lil too philosophical about it. It really boils down to a few simple things

"God made all men, Sam Colt made them Equal"

Which means the scrawniest tiniest little woman with a gun in her hand is equal to the biggest badass guy with a gun in his hand. Without the guns involved its no contest. He could beat, rape, or do whatever he wanted to her. A gun is an Equalizer without peer.
