I'm not sure which is the more colossal failure: the Apple TV or assmch's attempts positioning the Xbox 360 (of all devices) as a legitimate PVR.

Steve Jobs doesn't "brainwash" me. I actually used to be against the Apple TV and say "OMG, SLINGBOX IS DA BEST YO!!!". But when I actually took the time to realize that the Apple TV has a serious advantage over most rental services. You download it and have 1 month to watch the video and 24 hours to finish it before it self destructs. I'm not a "Mac worshipper". I like Linux as well and if Windows was halfway descent, I'd like it too. So I'll go and spend $0.99 on a movie while you go rent it.

This is actually alot cheaper than most rental services such as Netflix, Blockbuster, and Blockbuster Online. You download it instantly and watch it instantly without leaving home and you can watch it instantly on a Mac, PC, iPod, or Apple TV. I'd rather pay $2.50 for a movie rental rather than spend more on another rental service just so I can have a physical copy of the disc that I won't be keeping anyway.
