I often cheer for the underdog but I have a level of respect for all the opponents of El Fuerte in this vid. My highest regards go to the Sagat player though because he didn't rely on fireballs compared to other Sagat fighters out there. Bravo.
also, on the argument that giefs normals have a disadvantage may be true, but u can sit there and mash jabs without any kind of timing and link them all where as elf has to time each and every one of his jabs to get them to link. i think its 1 frame between each jab. you cant expect a normal thats ez to mash and combo to also be non punishable! i hate jab jab jab jab green hand! sooo ez to land and so ez to hit confirm.
What buffs? He's got two combo options(This was a high ranking video, and yen was only able to pull off one of two) and he's a low tier character. You could stand in one part of the stage, never move, just blocking and doing Blanka's Electric attack and Fuerte would still lose half his energy.
against fuete on wake up u just have to guess like the fuete player is.If he propellers back dash, jump back or srk.Against splash (body slam) focus it or if u know its gna cross up get ready to block or srk the other way, its v hard to tell and perform the counter quick enough. He does minimal damage and takes maximum, so take some risks and dont get flustered when hes got u in the wake up situation.Hes weakest close up and they will want to block so mix it up with pokes, throws and overheads. GL
I just think that I can compare it to Seth, my point being strength doesn't matter as much as all the attacks landing. Pretty much saying its better to have attacks that are weak and connect constantly eventually beating them than having slow strong attacks that will not land.
I checked the frame data on event hubs and all of Zangief's standing normals have a frame disadvantage. All of El Fuerte's Standing normals have advantages.
Crouching attacks are about even. So yeah there's your evidence.
My point being that Zangief has a lot more frames in his attacks and they are at a disadvantage. El Fuerte has more of an advantage on his frame data. So I'm just pointing out that I do know what I'm talking about.
My point is not that he has slow jabs, but little recovery frames on his attacks on mixup. You see, many characters have attacks you can punish and I am kind of used to seeing players get punished for attacks that they throw out and hope for the best (a guessing game), but El Fuerte's attacks rarely get punished. Since he has so little recovery frames on his attacks, the attacks are considered safe and you can go ahead and throw it out and you won't lose doing so.
wow you dont know much about elf if u really think that his attacks have a short recovery time! if u block a splash u can ultra him EZ during his recovery frames! a back dash out of his splash equals DPs to the face! elf has to take a TON of risks to put out small amounts of damage and if he messes up, hes done! hes a momentum character with really low health and crap damage output and horrible stun. please read up on elf before u go and make more inaccurate comments plz.
cmon man, even after i say im done arguing, you guys still want to argue. some characters have little start up on their ultras and his splash does the block recovery on you (you still have frames to recover from the block). Only SOME characters can reverse ultra, as you may know I use Chun-li and her ultra has 7 startup frames. I'm done arguing man, you people just want to be right so bad that you keep replying.
I think he needs more recovery on his attacks and more damage for them, that way its more fair, which actually happen in SSF4. Anyway I'm done arguing since I learned some more ways to help my match up against El Fuerte, sorry if I offended anyone with my ignorance even though I did have some evidence.
Elf needs more range on his moves. He needs either a stun upgrade or a power upgrade. I just beat a guy in 16 seconds with elf and he did not get dizzy! His ultra 1 needs to hit if they jump near him and it needs a quicker startup. People can poke and I do it and it misses because they jump. My ultra GOES THROUGH THEM! Change the Q Bomb to a BF charge
C'mon, his ultra does a crap load of damage if it lands, and it lands in just some BS times. Like if you miss a jump in front of him, or if you back dash or just forward dash. My point being, if he is going to land it ridiculously or easily, the damage should be nerfed. It does too much damage as soon as he gets it too. Not even full ultra and it does almost 400. Any attack should be buffed inversely, more damage, harder to land. Easier to land, lower damage.
You need to think about the other characters too man, its selfish if El Fuerte gets so much stronger while other characters get nothing. Inverse buffs are is the easiest way to balance. Some characters that just have a ridiculous damaging attack that is easy to land should just be nerfed in damage, like Sagat and Zangief.
Im not saying stronger for traditional means. Just more range. And priority because of his shorter limbs. Vega and Guile's Ultra 1 needs to be INSTANT. There difficulty for use in battle is off the page!
5:58 50 Yen does habanero dash and cancels run, baiting Sagat to jump back. At this point 50 is crouching. EX dash starts up instantly and it takes 3 recovery frames Ultra start up in 5. Sagat's jump takes 4 to start and he is airborne for 36 frames. So I think you can do it. However 50 yen did a a back dash maybe anticipating a tiger knee instead of a jump. So he couldn't do it anyway.
Due to the fact that most of the player can't perdict the futur unlike 50 Yen, no he doesn't need a nerf, maybe removing his infinite but other then that Fuerte is an Ok caracter that could use a boost
El Fuerte is too good

now can you exlpain why Zangief has fast jabs and elf does not?
sngoku 2 years ago
El fuerte has 2 active frames on his close jab
Zangief has 6 active frames on his close jab
That is the only difference
I checked the frame data on event hubs and all of Zangief's standing normals have a frame disadvantage. All of El Fuerte's Standing normals have advantages.
