I really want to punch the nose of that that whiny little bitch at the end. Then he won't be able to go to a hospital without looking like a self-absorbed hypocrite.
My nephew is on the extreme of the autistic range - 9 years old, does not speak, constant meltdowns, wears diapers, etc. He showed signs of it immediately - before he was vaccinated - screaming fits that far exceeded anything any of us had ever done as babies, the tendency to look away from his mother's face rather than at her like most infants, etc. It had diddly shit to do with vaccines and everything to do with chance and genetics.
i am fucking pissed off because these idiots think that autism is a fucking problem. it's not, these people who think so are the fucking problem. autism is brilliant, because we end up with these people who are incredibly smart.
and for the record, i AM autistic, i'm HAPPY to be autistic, and if anyone think my opinion doesn't count BECAUSE i'm autistic, then they can go and die in a fucking hole
@FOX74647 I think autistic people are awesome. I also like people, like myself, who are bipolar, or people who have ADHD. We are all different, and everybody has some difficulties in life. Autism can be hard for parents to deal with and hard on autistic people, but there are advantages, too (just as there are in BP or ADHD). There's nothing wrong with you being who you are. Your opinion about autism is more valid than mine I'd say, certainly more informed.
@FOX74647 The problem is more so that people have only recently begun to hear about it, and now are trying to use it as an excuse for everything- people who are just stupid often try to get special treatment for being "autistic" at my college, when they dont even UNDERSTAND it. Autism is anything but a learning disability, is what they dont realize. My nephew is severely autistic to the point of non-speaking and wearing diapers at 9. He has no trouble learning, though-just expressing himself.
Holy christ, where the fuck did they find this "doctors make us sick to make money" moron? I mean, I've seen a fair amount of outright lunacy in my time, but this asshole makes creationists (almost) look rational.
Why so many AIDS cases in Africa? Lack of contraceptives and proper sex education (plus the Catholic Church telling them condoms INCREASE the chance of AIDS)
man i hate those people like that that say well my kid never got vaccinated and he ok its all bullshit well your kid dint get sick cuz all the other parent got there kid the shot and thank god they did or we still be at the same level as in 1800 were people were diying by the hundred of the flu .... they should work on an vaccin to cure ingnorance man whould this planet be a better place.......
Allright, asshole. The reason being their is more AIDS in Africa is not because of vaccines. its because most nations of Africa have far inferior healthcare systems than we in the States take for granted.
Why is AIDS prevalent in Africa? It has quite alot to do with the policies of the catholic Church, which is the only source of information for the majority of Africans on this issue. It also has something to do with the traditions like having sex with infants - which many believe is actually a cure for such afflictions.
I just graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. This is EXACTLY what I wrote my Thesis on, though not with nearly enough profanity. Thanks Penn and Teller for making science understandable, haha :D
@Point1875 well, that IS a true statement. You honestly believe they would do the job for free? I don't even agree with the guy but this statement is 100% true as it is for just about any profession.
@TheLastBrainLeft Their being 'stupid' is not what bothers me. What bothers me is the mindset that their movement evokes in parents - That it's worth putting your child at risk of polio, or diphtheria, or rubella, if it means that they don't develop Autism. They seem to think that having Autism wrecks the life of a child, and, more importantly it seems, wrecks the lives of their parents, because they have to bring up a child who isn't 'normal'.
My paternal grandmother was one of 9 children. Of her 8 brothers and sisters, one was crippled for life by polio and died in his 30's. One died shortly after birth of influenza and one died as a teenager due to diphtheria, one of the nastiest scourges the pre-vaccine world lived in abject fear of. So to all the anti-vaccine assholes out there, I have only one thing to say to you. FUCK YOU!
all these anti-vaccination people are the biggest fucking idiots i've ever seen in my life. Human stupidity in the face of facts goes being just pure ignorance, it's down right insanity. I think these people need to be checked for neurological disorders
When it comes to science, this show is usually full of shit. This is one of the few , iwhere they are right. That said, has anyone considered the possibility that the human genepool is evolving towards more a more autistic population? How many asperger like people are there that are actually married and have kids. Im pretty sure there's a lot of them.
Hmm, what is the greater risk: a vaccinated child being at risk (if it were true) for autism, or a number of unprotected children in a vulnerable community dying of or being debilitated by a preventable disease?
None of these anti-vaccine people actually seem to understand what Autism is! It's a neurological disorder (and I hesitate to even use the word 'disorder', as I know people with Autism, and they are barely different from anyone else,) NOT a disease! Therefore, you cannot infect someone with it (through a vaccine,) and you cannot cure it (SHUT UP JENNY MCCARTHY!) All this is just born of parents' fears of bringing up a 'flawed' child. Your children, autistic or not, are PERFECT the way they are!
@PassTheMarmalade1957 They aren't stupid. What they did is that they leaped on board a movement with a legitimate belief that it was real, made a massive emotional investment in the controversy and are now trapped in it. Using facts and reason will never dissuade them because doing so would make their lives less meaningful, and would also require an admission that they were wrong. We see the same thing vis-a-vis global warming.
The redefining of the "autism disorder" is probably the reason why the number increased. I knew this guy for most of my life that no one would suspect had any mental issues; we just thought that he was a bit strange.. but he was social. I don't think that he would've been called autistic before the redefinition.
Life is one big risk. You COULD get autism from a shot, but then again you could get hit by a car the next day. And if you didn't have the shot you risk catching some other disease. Really, it's just one big gamble and people need to accept that these things happen.
HOLY SHIT some doctors are doctors for money, FUCK ME NO WAY. It would be crazy to if I said the kid at McDonalds actually does not make you your burger because he personally wants to feed people. WOULDN'T IT?
9:30, so this guy has no Diploma, Bachelors, or any sort of of tertiary education - and he is criticizing something he know nothing about because he has not studied it, or even looked into it, other than the bullshit he finds on the internet??
if doctors were all involved in a big conspiracy to cover up vaccine's alleged effects so they could make more money, then would they vaccinate their own children? because the vast majority do.
@MunkyDrag0n As a matter of fact, the reason there are more diseases like that in Africa because of REJECTION of these vaccines due to religious reasons!
I may have this wrong, and it may be different in America, but don't doctors make an absolute pittence when starting off, and only make a decent amount of money after quite a few years. Then you've also got Uni/College fees.
@Pyro25892 100% right, the same is true for high paying athletes, coaches, musicians, comedians. they have to go thru years of not making enough and be patient to follow their dream of making a decent living doing what they love. not possible without a proper support system. i don't have that so i am going the other way after quicker money lol
my sister is going to be a doctor to help people u dummy! she would love to do doctors with out borders. Yes, she wants a better life for he self and family but also for others!
3:14 "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?" , the "ce soir" part, was rather pretty well said (no accent, if we compare with french canadian french..., but no for every french canadian accents)
I think these people need to go ask their grandparents what life was like before vaccines were available, when it was a game of 'which infectious disease will you die of before you turn 10?'
@Lollipops2334 I did that, with my grand-grand mother (95 yo), a long time ago, the story was very sad, she is the only survivor.. her brothers, all died in early infancy of illness like polio, measles... pretty scary if you ask me.
okay i have autism i am high functioning and i must say this Jenny is a dumb ass for saying her son "had" autism you cant get over it it is not a sickness it is a disorder it is genetic and how your mind works if you eliminated it you would basically kill that person because their personality is built around that trait no one can cure it you just have to learn to try and cope with it and if i ever see someone selling something that "cures autism" i am gonna walk up and yell "BULLSHIT"
I have a friend who's studying for cardiology/heart surgery. It's both helping and making a healthy living. Quite a few doctors actually move into less cushy environments so they can make more use of their expertise, like Doctor's Without Borders.
Indeed, Just because someone can make a living off of something doesn't mean it's a giant fucking conspiracy around their livelihood. Just stupid.
So lemme get this straight, I have a child, the doctor says to get her vaccinated and instead I listen to...JENNY FREAKIN' MACARTHY?! She is NOT a scientist or a doctor! She's a bimbo with big fake tits. Why would you not give your kids vaccinations because a dumb playboy model who knows nothing about the subject said they were bad?
If you done your research you would've seen that a huge % of people who get the vaccinated against diseases/viruses are the people vaccinated. Also small pox were not erradicated by vaccines they were already out the door 15yrs before it was vaccinated against. Did you know pharmaceutical companies make a billion a yr on vaccines but 10's of billions on medications for vaccine injuries. If they finally admitted they did harm they'd be paying all that to the families of vaccine injured children.
@DonnaR31 Smallpox vaccination has been available for about 200 years and inoculation (riskier) was available prior to that. A major reason that small pox was "on its way out" by the 70s was due to the effectiveness of earlier inoculation and vaccination campaigns (perhaps most famously by Washington in 1777). As scientists freely admit, no vaccine is 100% effective, so yes, some people still get sick. Herd immunity is what protects them. Your denial kills them, but hay, you do that for free.
The hospital closed in 1962, due to the antibiotic drug streptomycin that lowered the need for such a hospital.
Its funny how one little drug nearly wiped out "the white plague" and saved hundreds of thousands of lives possibly millions. 63,000 people died in this hospital alone. There were hundreds of these types of hospitals in the US. Thank god for vaccines and responsible doctors. Without them real people you know would have never been a memory.
I had an MMR jab years ago. Immediately after I had it, I had autism. It was bad, but I then caught AIDS which cured my autism. I then developed cancer which cured my aids, which in turn was cured by the common cold. I died from the cold but at least I am now disease free. Except for herpes. Even dying didn't get rid of that shit. Bastard.
Vaccines cause disease and other harm to people, they don't prevent disease and harm. Immunity to disease is created by proper nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, not injections of disease agents and toxins. Vaccines are used to chemically lobotomize people and cripple them, so we have to waste even more of our resources taking care of them instead of getting rid of the feudal lords ruling us.
@fertilizerspike why do people think that doctors ar evil for getting paid? Do you have a job that you're paid for? Do you still do an honest job?
Sanitation does nothing for our immune systems. It takes being introduced to a germ before you are immune to it.
Chemically lobotomize???? Do you read the shit you're typing? That makes no fucking sense at all. Quit typing fucking cunt dumb cospiracy shit and get your facts straight.
@Unlockablebox said: "why do people think that doctors ar evil for getting paid" I didn't make that claim. "Sanitation does nothing for our immune systems." Sanitation prevents the spread of disease. "It takes being introduced to a germ before you are immune to it." Not being exposed to a germ also makes you "immune" to it. "Chemically lobotomize?" Yes. "Do you read the shit you're typing?" Yes. "get your facts straight" Done.
So it's ok to get info from dumb & dumber, oops Penn & Teller? I don't look up opinions asshole I look up facts, do you think the truth is going to be at the library? You honestly believe your pharmaceutical company paid dr is going to give you the truth? God forbid none of your grandchildren are vaccine injured before you open your narrow eyes to facts. Have you ever asked for the vaccine inserts? I have & they say right in them that they can cause neurological damage and SIDS, explain that?
Did you know small pox were gone 15 yrs before it was vaccinated against? Did you know that formaldehyde is a carcinogen? Did you know that there IS still mercury in vaccines? Did you know there is aborted fetuses in vaccines? Do you think it's healthy to put mouse, pig, dog and monkey dna into your child? Did you most children who get all the vaccinated against viruses are the children who were vaccinated? Yes Sheeple I googled my info but where else can I get the truth, def not from my doctor.
Well Dr Gordon I am glad you take full responsibility. Then when their children get measles or pertussis, they can know who to tar and feather then sue, but they probally won't since anyone who listens to a snake oil salesman's advice is already a moron in the first place.
its obvious that people with autistic children are grasping at straws, they want to blame somebody, its easier than just accepting that they were dealt a shitty hand of cards. maybe they can even sue and get some money out of their tragedy. Its pathetic how gullible people are.
It's the medical industry that's "grasping at straws" and engaging in massive denial. They know vaccines harm people, and provide no benefits of any kind, but they're dug in like ticks they've been doing it so long. To reverse themselves now would be to admit they've been harming people for literally centuries.
of the 360+ mental illnesses in the DSM about 1% have medical causes measured by scientific evidence, 100% earn 1/3 trillion a year and kill a mother f*cking sh*t load of people
Research to these delusional fucks is browsing the internet? These are the kind of people that read Wikipedia and believe it word for word.... These fucking morons don't deserve to procreate.
Maybe its best they don't vaccinate. Maybe were better off not having another idiot in the world. From learning from these parents u know the kids will be too.
fucking morons... STOP TRYING TO "TREAT" AUTISM! the only thing that works is a change of environment, in my experience. THAT fucking works every fucking time not hyperfuckingbaric oxygen treatment... FUCK!
A big fat screw you to the anti-vaccine people. We almost had to cancel a trip to California for Christmas due to a pertussis outbreak last year. My wife and I weren't worried about ourselves, we were concerned about our 3-month-old! If all the damned idiot hippies would vaccinate their messed up kids we wouldn't be having resurgences of diseases that haven't been seen in the developed world in decades!
@DavidAndrus Don't blame hippies. Blame the unbalanced fear loving media who won't dare take the time to put this kind of info on public TV. The one thing they never address about the merucry is how it affects a brand new child and how it affects adults. Although reduced it's still in vaccines. I guess the sure way is the best way. Get a vasectomy! They're great!
@HeavyMechNS I think your getting model mixed up with porn star. None the less I do agree...that blonde doesn't have brain cell when it comes to science.
9:36 are you shitting me??? yes. doctors just sacrificed about 7-10 years of their lives and well constantly researching and learning about new drugs and diseases, just so they don't what they are talking about. Your analogy implies you can't drive either jackass ..grrr
In that case don't hire a contractor, don't go to a lawyer, don't take the bus, don't even f**** sending your kids to school, these people just have a degree, they aren't professionals.. dickwad.. shit.. sorry if i offend anyone
............ -.- ......... and they believe everything they get off the internet..... yes this really supports your arguments... oiiiii... never heard such thickheaded stupidity.. people are entitled to their own view... but have proper evidence before taking a stance on an issue... jeez
Says the med student to the worried dad: "That hurts a little bit. I like to think that it is because I have a passion and talent for science and I want to use it to help people. I understand your concern but c'mon... don't be a dick."
That guy who thinks he's so damn smart because he reads conspiracy theories on the internet... he looks like Glenn Beck. I want to punch his face in. Nothing but Appeals to Emotion.
It may be Aspergers in my case but the point stands, I have it and so my parents sent me to a psychiatrist, two years later, I'm completely fine, a buddy with full on Autisim took a fair bit longer but now he's fine. Yet parents insist psychiatrist's are evil and give their money to crap like ionic foot massages?
oh my god, as a potential doctor i want to knock that guy out. yes, doctors have licenses to practice, but they somehow aren't experts in what they do? sure, the guy might have his drivers license but he DID NOT go to school for over a decade for it! like fuck, man.
Carl is correct on some points, but he takes it and blows it up into bullshit (zing!) proportions. Yes, I believe we are being somewhat distracted from a truth. Yes, maybe vaccinations can be a bit dangerous sometimes (depends on which ones), but that doesn't mean TV is the devil and vaccinations are horrible.
What I don't get is that it seems that even anti-vaccine parents only want what's best for their children (like almost every other parent). I assume that they want their children to go to college, travel/save the world. But do they realize that many colleges require that you take certain vaccinations before you even start your classes? Also, if you're crazy enough to go to developing country without the proper vaccinations...I was gonna say something rather mean but I'll hold back.
Why didn't you vaccinate me against hepatitis, daddy? Why didn't you read the REAL scientific research? Were you too busy jacking off to conspiracy theories on national television? Fucking Carl, man...
@cyanmanta Some people really are allergic to vaccines. It is a fact. The problem with this documentary is that it looks at Autism as the only possible side effect of vaccines. Obviously there is no peer reviewed scientific research confirming vaccines cause Autism however there IS research showing vaccines cause other side effects. Yes it is rare but when you add it up into a population of 310 million like the USA has you find more people suffer from side effects than would from the disease.
@LifeLibertyLove How are you getting the number for people who would be getting the disease without treatment? The number of people affected before vaccines were commonly introduced within the ages for entering public school at that time?
You're saying the side effects would affect more people than the people in a world without vaccines, or even a world where we had them and suddenly stopped using them today. We don't have access to that information. How rare is rare, exactly?
@scionicspectre I actually did a little study on the vaccines but I lost my copy, but luckily I can reproduce the results of my data because I got it all from the CDC. Just take the known moderate to serious side effects of the vaccines and take how many get these side effects in proportion to a population of 310 million. Then take the amount of people that get infected a year. Yes, certain vaccines are good but most are unnecessary and pragmatically unbeneficial.
@scionicspectre I think the invention of the vaccine was a wonderful thing and so beneficial to humankind but what I am trying to say is if you look at all the vaccines as a whole we are given we don't even need most of them in America. We don't even look at statistical chances of contracting diseases look at the vaccines they were giving to little girls for STD's I mean really it is so unnecessary
You did ask a good question however, how am I getting the number for the people who would be getting the disease without treatment. Well you can take the amount of people who contract the disease in the USA find out how many of them were not vaccinated and divide them into the population who were not vaccinated. So lets say you have 200 million who got vaccinated and 100 million did not but 100 cases of the disease broke out on people unvaccinated that is 1 out of 1 million chance.
@scionicspectre A perfect example of perfectly functioning scientifically proven vaccines ARE the polio vaccine and the smallpox vaccine and ESPECIALLY the rabbis vaccine. These are all good vaccines that have helped mankind but we don't give Polio vaccine anymore because it is eradicated. But likewise we give certain vaccines that are unnecessary for the average person. I can give you some examples if you would like to support my point, I am not anti-vaccine I just believe that we have ...
I am not anti-vaccine I am just saying that we have lost our common sense when it comes to cost benefit analysis meaning taking the risk and outweighing it doctors have lost that ability lately just look at how they perscribe pain killers. They do it the same way with a vaccine if they get it they will give it. Sure it benefits some, I believe high risk people should obviously get vaccines for what they are at high risk for but why should everyone get it for something not even deadly?
@LifeLibertyLove There's actually a few very important problems with what you've written here.
Firstly vaccines actually contain very little inherent risk. Most of risks from vaccines are very minor. The main dangerous one is anaphylaxis but this is extremely rare, and, of course not just something that can occur with vaccinations. If one were to use the risk of anaphylaxis as an argument for not universally immunising then we should also restrict our diets severely.
@LifeLibertyLove Secondly, is a part of the importance or vaccines lies in the fact that we do immunize everyone. This forms what is termed as 'herd immunity', the crux of which is that if a whole community is immunised then an infectious disease (which must pass form one host to another) cannot take hold on that community. This can protect people who for some reason cannot take that vaccine e.g. the ones that are allergic that I mentioned earlier.
@missgobs89 I sent a larger message to scionicspectre actually going into detail about that, herd immunity is BS. There is so many diseases in the USA we do NOT need to be herd immuned for. Why the hell do I need Hep B vaccine? I am not going to have sex with multiple people and I am not going to be sharing needles with anyone soon, nor do I plan on playing in the blood or bodily fluid of a random person in any way shape or form.
@missgobs89 Also when it comes to Flu Vaccines there is really no evidence herd immunity even works we are guini pigs when you blanket vaccinate everyone that is stupid. People should be vaccinated on a high risk basis not to treat humans like guini pigs. For example the flu vaccine is for only one strand of flu and the strand changes every year so when we find some years the vaccines is semi-effective and other years it's practically useless. Not to mention the millions that actually get
@missgobs89 Not to mention the millions that actually get Flu-Like symptoms for taking the Flu-Vaccine so what he hell is that? Take a vaccine to prevent something which is going to give you the symptoms of that something? I wash my hands and I stay clean and stay away from sick people that is my flu-vaccine. I was around several people in my family with a cold and I did not get sick because I will not share drinks with them stick my fingers in my mouth etc.
@missgobs89 One of the main reasons for many correlations showing vaccines work have nothing to do with the vaccines but with awareness of the diseases and good hygene.
Great googly moogly. People are fucking idiots.

So to all the anti-vaccine assholes out there, I have only one thing to say to you. FUCK YOU!

When it comes to science, this show is usually full of shit. This is one of the few , iwhere they are right. That said, has anyone considered the possibility that the human genepool is evolving towards more a more autistic population? How many asperger like people are there that are actually married and have kids. Im pretty sure there's a lot of them.
darfunkelidas 2 months ago
Hmm, what is the greater risk: a vaccinated child being at risk (if it were true) for autism, or a number of unprotected children in a vulnerable community dying of or being debilitated by a preventable disease?
P0weredByPie 2 months ago
Man fuck that guy at 9:20 who was equating a medical license to a drivers license.
XReflection 2 months ago
None of these anti-vaccine people actually seem to understand what Autism is! It's a neurological disorder (and I hesitate to even use the word 'disorder', as I know people with Autism, and they are barely different from anyone else,) NOT a disease! Therefore, you cannot infect someone with it (through a vaccine,) and you cannot cure it (SHUT UP JENNY MCCARTHY!) All this is just born of parents' fears of bringing up a 'flawed' child. Your children, autistic or not, are PERFECT the way they are!
PassTheMarmalade1957 2 months ago
@PassTheMarmalade1957 They aren't stupid. What they did is that they leaped on board a movement with a legitimate belief that it was real, made a massive emotional investment in the controversy and are now trapped in it. Using facts and reason will never dissuade them because doing so would make their lives less meaningful, and would also require an admission that they were wrong. We see the same thing vis-a-vis global warming.
TheLastBrainLeft 2 months ago
The redefining of the "autism disorder" is probably the reason why the number increased. I knew this guy for most of my life that no one would suspect had any mental issues; we just thought that he was a bit strange.. but he was social. I don't think that he would've been called autistic before the redefinition.

Life is one big risk. You COULD get autism from a shot, but then again you could get hit by a car the next day. And if you didn't have the shot you risk catching some other disease. Really, it's just one big gamble and people need to accept that these things happen.

DonnaR31 5 months ago
@DonnaR31 Smallpox vaccination has been available for about 200 years and inoculation (riskier) was available prior to that. A major reason that small pox was "on its way out" by the 70s was due to the effectiveness of earlier inoculation and vaccination campaigns (perhaps most famously by Washington in 1777). As scientists freely admit, no vaccine is 100% effective, so yes, some people still get sick. Herd immunity is what protects them. Your denial kills them, but hay, you do that for free.

There were hundreds of these types of hospitals in the US. Thank god for vaccines and responsible doctors. Without them real people you know would have never been a memory.

Vaccines cause disease and other harm to people, they don't prevent disease and harm. Immunity to disease is created by proper nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, not injections of disease agents and toxins. Vaccines are used to chemically lobotomize people and cripple them, so we have to waste even more of our resources taking care of them instead of getting rid of the feudal lords ruling us.
fertilizerspike 5 months ago
@fertilizerspike why do people think that doctors ar evil for getting paid? Do you have a job that you're paid for? Do you still do an honest job?

It's the medical industry that's "grasping at straws" and engaging in massive denial. What I don't get is that it seems that even anti-vaccine parents only want what's best for their children (like almost every other parent). I assume that they want their children to go to college, travel/save the world. But do they realize that many colleges require that you take certain vaccinations before you even start your classes? DanzAzzie 7 months ago
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@LifeLibertyLove How are you getting the number for people who would be getting the disease without treatment? The number of people affected before vaccines were commonly introduced within the ages for entering public school at that time?
You're saying the side effects would affect more people than the people in a world without vaccines, or even a world where we had them and suddenly stopped using them today. We don't have access to that information. How rare is rare, exactly?
scionicspectre 4 months ago
@scionicspectre I actually did a little study on the vaccines but I lost my copy, but luckily I can reproduce the results of my data because I got it all from the CDC. Just take the known moderate to serious side effects of the vaccines and take how many get these side effects in proportion to a population of 310 million. Then take the amount of people that get infected a year. Yes, certain vaccines are good but most are unnecessary and pragmatically unbeneficial.
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@scionicspectre I think the invention of the vaccine was a wonderful thing and so beneficial to humankind but what I am trying to say is if you look at all the vaccines as a whole we are given we don't even need most of them in America. We don't even look at statistical chances of contracting diseases look at the vaccines they were giving to little girls for STD's I mean really it is so unnecessary
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
and to think the governer of Texas tried to sign an executive order to force people to give their female children this vaccine..
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
You did ask a good question however, how am I getting the number for the people who would be getting the disease without treatment. Well you can take the amount of people who contract the disease in the USA find out how many of them were not vaccinated and divide them into the population who were not vaccinated. So lets say you have 200 million who got vaccinated and 100 million did not but 100 cases of the disease broke out on people unvaccinated that is 1 out of 1 million chance.
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@scionicspectre A perfect example of perfectly functioning scientifically proven vaccines ARE the polio vaccine and the smallpox vaccine and ESPECIALLY the rabbis vaccine. These are all good vaccines that have helped mankind but we don't give Polio vaccine anymore because it is eradicated. But likewise we give certain vaccines that are unnecessary for the average person. I can give you some examples if you would like to support my point, I am not anti-vaccine I just believe that we have ...
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
I am not anti-vaccine I am just saying that we have lost our common sense when it comes to cost benefit analysis meaning taking the risk and outweighing it doctors have lost that ability lately just look at how they perscribe pain killers. They do it the same way with a vaccine if they get it they will give it. Sure it benefits some, I believe high risk people should obviously get vaccines for what they are at high risk for but why should everyone get it for something not even deadly?
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@LifeLibertyLove There's actually a few very important problems with what you've written here.
Firstly vaccines actually contain very little inherent risk. Most of risks from vaccines are very minor. The main dangerous one is anaphylaxis but this is extremely rare, and, of course not just something that can occur with vaccinations. If one were to use the risk of anaphylaxis as an argument for not universally immunising then we should also restrict our diets severely.
missgobs89 4 months ago
@LifeLibertyLove Secondly, is a part of the importance or vaccines lies in the fact that we do immunize everyone. This forms what is termed as 'herd immunity', the crux of which is that if a whole community is immunised then an infectious disease (which must pass form one host to another) cannot take hold on that community. This can protect people who for some reason cannot take that vaccine e.g. the ones that are allergic that I mentioned earlier.
missgobs89 4 months ago
@missgobs89 I sent a larger message to scionicspectre actually going into detail about that, herd immunity is BS. There is so many diseases in the USA we do NOT need to be herd immuned for. Why the hell do I need Hep B vaccine? I am not going to have sex with multiple people and I am not going to be sharing needles with anyone soon, nor do I plan on playing in the blood or bodily fluid of a random person in any way shape or form.
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@missgobs89 Also when it comes to Flu Vaccines there is really no evidence herd immunity even works we are guini pigs when you blanket vaccinate everyone that is stupid. People should be vaccinated on a high risk basis not to treat humans like guini pigs. For example the flu vaccine is for only one strand of flu and the strand changes every year so when we find some years the vaccines is semi-effective and other years it's practically useless. Not to mention the millions that actually get
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@missgobs89 Not to mention the millions that actually get Flu-Like symptoms for taking the Flu-Vaccine so what he hell is that? Take a vaccine to prevent something which is going to give you the symptoms of that something? I wash my hands and I stay clean and stay away from sick people that is my flu-vaccine. I was around several people in my family with a cold and I did not get sick because I will not share drinks with them stick my fingers in my mouth etc.
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
@missgobs89 One of the main reasons for many correlations showing vaccines work have nothing to do with the vaccines but with awareness of the diseases and good hygene.
LifeLibertyLove 4 months ago
