3 DIMM's is enough for 12GB and I'd prefer to run 3x4GB sticks than 6x2GB stick as it puts less stress on the CPU's IMC which will mean less voltage and a cooler CPU.
If you need more than 12GB then yes, it's not the board for you.
They man manufacture some of the other boards but they don't design them. One company's design might be better, and they may used higher quality, albeit higher cost, parts to make the boards as well.
Very well. It's very stable and you'll be limited by your heatsink temperature before the motherboard. It can do 200-210th bclk, i.e. 4.2-4.4Ghz with ease.
Come over to BenchTec if you want some help with overclocking. :)
Yeah we want to take 3rd place and make it ours before the end of the year!
We need more support from companies like Foxconn, and being the 3rd ranked team with purely UK overclockers instead of these global forums with overclockers from around the world would be a huge achievement.
wow thanks for this video. I ordered one and was wondering if the barbs are 3/8 or 1/2. Thanks for informing me of the 1/2 because most mobo water blocks are 3/8. Great vid
on an x58 chipset you don't need to extreme cool you noth or south brige, they moved the heat comsumption the cpu so why would you evenwant to install the LN2 pot!! better to include something for the cpu
have got the motherboard now btw :) and one thing is about the utility it comes with. Which monitors your voltages and other stuff etc etc. Its been designed by a bunch of losers to look like runescape!
erm think he means that most NVIDIA cards require 2 slots and this motherboard PCI slots arnt positioned correctly for that. I'm personally happy with 1 graphics card and only 2 if for some strange reason i decide to go mad(which is highly unlikely)
I may be getting a proper graphics card in a few days since it's my birthday in a couple of weeks. I'm on a Celeron D 356 (Socket 775 LGA) @ 3.33GHz. My motherboard is a Foxconn P4M900-8237A. My chipset is VIA. Integrated VIA graphics Chrome9 HC IGP 198MB I think. (DX 10) BIOS - Phoenix Technologies. Gaphic Interface - AGP (V3.0) Transfer rate 8x Max supported 8x. 1X PCI-E slot. 1.5GB of DDR2 (2 RAM Slots) (1x1GB and 1x 512MB). What graphics cards are compatible with my machine?
Integrated graphics running DX10? i think the 7900GS will be able to run burnout paradise, but i dont think you will be able to play highest settings.
There may be a heap of particle effects and CPU heavy tasks in the game so it might strain your CPU a bit.
Yes you need to use 3 cards with single slot coolers, or you need to watercool any card that comes with a dual slot cooler. You also need 3 flexible SLI bridges, and then plug them in the right way. The hard 3-way SLI bridge won't work of course.
The board officially supports 2, 3 or 4 nvidia or AMD GPU's!
PS. 3 DIMM slots is only a problem if you want over 12GB of DDR3!
cool..you'll need to cut off part of the metal which takes up 2 expansion slots on the case though. Also do flexible 3-way sli bridges exist? because unlike crossfire, sli cannot be made by the use of 2 bridges
All it's meant to be is a heat plate to allow the heat pipe to transfer the heat to the rest of the heatsink assembly. The watercooling option will cool the lot, SB, IOH and PWM.
I love benchmarking and overclocking super pi is my favorite bench of all. Got a bunch of vids of my benching if you want to check it out on my channel.
does somebody know if the noctua nh-d14 will fit with the memories

sure does with no problem!

You have to buy one yourself, but you get to choose what you want.
They are LGA1366 CPU's and you've got from the i7 920 to the i7 975 to choose from.

actually foxconn makes alot of asus and msi boards so if they make the big companys boards wouldn't they be the best?

Sort of. They also make all of Apple's logic boards. However, they're not so good at making bioses.

Sorry guys, there's not much I can do about it now. It sounds so much worse in the video - the laptop doesn't make that sound normally!
You couldtry using your sound card equalizer to drop out the high end.
My new videos don't have this - check out the FlamingBlade GTI one. :)

What kind of sound card is that? 5.1 or 7.1? can I install another soundcard on this motherboard?
ForGamersByGamers 2 years ago
It's a 7.1 X-Fi soundcard ;-)
And yes, you can disable the soundcard and plug your own one in.
Btw, I hit 4.96Ghz and 237 bclk using my phase change cooling with this motherboard - it's great! :D

Sorry that high pitched whine is the bad little fan on my laptop which I had on - I will remember to turn it off next time!
I have been using the new G25 bios which you can get from BenchTec and I have got to 229 bclk now. I really like this board.

shame it doesnt have 6 slots for ram, would be nice if you could fit tri sli in it too

You're very right, but it's not a bad thing ;-) The waterblock is great and keeps things very cool.
They can't give you a copper cpu pot as well, they cost a lot of money!

Yes.
If you cool properly.
(AKA Water cooling.)
If not then you really don't need tri SLI on an extreme overclocking mobo lol.

where did you get it from? cant find it anywhere in the UK
DROFDNAS 3 years ago 2
Hi Drofdnas,
At BenchTec we are linked with a number of the manufacturers and this package was sent to us directly by Foxconn for review.
I have spoken with my contact and he says that stock should be arriving in Europe/UK within the next week.
HTH :)

cheers, i have everything for my build except the motherboard which obviously is the main component

only AGP cards will work, basicaly any Nvidia card past the 7series wont work on your motherboard.
the best you can get is the ATI AGP 3850 i think, something like that anyway.
dont waste your money though. keep your current PC and save up for a new system.
you dont have to spend thousands, just enough to get you your first proper PC that is customised to your liking
Craniel 3 years ago
I'm 14 I can't earn money.
I'm taking it to PC WORLD and they'll know what works with it since they own DIXONSXP, because that's what I've got - A DIXONSXP Eisystem.
It's fast even at single core Intel Celeron D @ 3.33Ghz.
Booting vista business in about 30 secs.
and can use pretty much instantly once logged on.
You serious though nothing past 7 series - ouch!
Will the 7 series be able to run Burnout Paradise smoothly???
Thanks anyway.
AmH032uTuBe 3 years ago
So for Nvidia the top will be NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS (AGP)7 series6.0 billion38.4 GB/s256 MB9.0c64 bit?
my integrated can run DX10 but still 9.0c will be fine coz that's what Burnout Paradise only needs.
AmH032uTuBe 3 years ago

Craniel 3 years ago
HAHA! ;) as a single core Celeron D yeh.
I'm not playing max. so is the 7900GS the top I can go then?
but on low or medium (out of low medium and high) settings I will be happy. as long as it's quite clear and I can see everything.
I don't care if it's not DX10 compatible, because for Burnout Paradise you only need DX9.0c.
Well I'm still taking it to the szhop.
But thanks alot.
I'm only really good at computers on the system and software side.
I could learn some stuff from you :P

dw im 15 and i just saved until i got this pc-
Asus P6T Delux
6 GB DDr3 Dominator
i7 2.66
Coolermaster V8
Coolermaster RC 1000
Coolermaster 1000W PSU
seriously you'll find if you save and shit then you can really easily afford or if you live in the UK you can get jobs in pubs :)
edtri19 2 years ago
yeh, well I don't really get pocket money...
but I got a new PSU (400W, it was only like £2 for a 450W)
then I got a Sapphire 2600XT 512MB GDDR3 graphics card.
my pc runs so fast now...
got that for my 15th birthday from everyone altogether, it came to about £75, but took a lot of saving...
AmH032uTuBe 2 years ago
oh and Nvidia GTX 295 :) forgot the most expensive bit
edtri19 2 years ago
actually 3x gtx 285s is more expensiv and fast... but it's not possible on this board.. i also don't like only 3 DIMM slots :S
nicktrance69 2 years ago
if you remove the fans on the gtx 285's maybe.but that would be very dumb
jayrockkz 2 years ago
you only got 2 way sli bridge so you can't i think even that way :P. Even if a 3 way sli bridge that would fit existed, it won't even work lool
nicktrance69 2 years ago
Actually, it will. :)

Yes you can cut the metal, or simply use the metal plate from an old graphics card, or buy a single slot one off ebay or somewhere.
For 3-way SLI bridge, google "svet 3way" and look at the first image result.
