@paliss06 same- I thought I was the only one- been playing guitar for 2 years, I'd like to think I was quite good and plectrum and fingerstyle- I can solo well with a pick, but stuff like this just flummoxes me... I just find it totally impossible...

If this blows your mind you're in for a treat if you do some exploring into really good guitarists.

Thom Yorke is a very talented songwriter and singer. His work is phenomenally creative. But as a guitarist he is pretty mediocre. His strength comes from his singing and lyrics.

@guitarnublet yeah I can play it pretty easily now- my plectrum chops are a lot better than they used to be. To be fair I think thom's actually a great guitarist- not much of a lead player but he really knows how to drive a song.

Yes, i guess it kinda comes down to criteria you set for a 'great guitarist'. The vibe and his passion put into it are great in my opinion. I'm merely speaking from a technical point of view :)

@guitarnublet True, and by great, I didn't mean one on the level of THE greats, however his ability to draw sound of a guitar is something I think a lot of "technically good" (an I mean that in the narrow sense of technically, not in the broad sense you probably mean) guitarists could learn from. Im sure you already know this by now, but there are plenty of instructonal vids on here how to play this song. That's how i learned it. Some were not exact, but they get you close enough. Just use your ear. This guy nailed it, but i can't play it with a pck. I can't even use a plectrum. I have to keep my fingernails long, which is a pain in the ass.

Keep practicing, I went through the SAME THING you're going through right now along with a lot of frustration and almost giving up but you're right around the corner..just keep taking stabs at it and you'll eventually get it down..you may want to consider first learning how to strum the chords and then strum through the transitions of the chords then you can pick..
