I had the pleasure of hearing Verrett's Azucena in her belated debut at Lyric Opera of Chicago in the late 80s. She was absolutely fabulous.

VERY NASAL (amongst other issues) tenor... But we all know the real attraction is the Azucena of Verrett. Afterall, she doesn't need a tenor coming close to matching her in her own concert. It'd be nice, but SHE is the focus. And she completely knocks it out of the park.

My Shirley does a "swell" job here, as usual. The tenor is nice, also.

I've never head of this tenor before, but he sounds nasal. Attractive timbre, but the nasal sound is not to my liking. Verret does a terrific job as always. Brava. Thank you for sharing.
