@rolanddes The password will be stored in your keychain. Make sure to manually mount the share at least once so the password will be stored for future use.
TIP - if you are having a hard time with the syntax of the remote share you can...
1) mount the drive manually
2) go to Get Info on that drive/folder and it will show the path starting with smb or afp and you can cut and paste using that path in the Get Info box.
Video is a bit old, it shows a older version of OSX before Leopard but still as relevant today. Never used automator before and this provides an easy enough tutorial on how to use automator to get it to mount the network drives automatically. Nice work, thanks!
This "Tips & Tricks" is awesome! Congratulations.
Been trying to do this for ages, and was quite frustrated…. Nice calming voice (and charming BTW!) and very easy to follow. Super! Thank you.

What if you need a password to access network drives? How can you integrate it to the syntax?

No need to use Automator. Simply mount your shares once and then drag them from finder to the Login Items section. Done.

Good tutorial, but the presentation is WAY to slow. Talk faster and save me some bandwidth!

Automator is only avalable for OSX 10.4 or later.
Why does it have to be some complicated to automount a share?! So much for the "Mac is easy" hype

Thats pretty cool. What if your smb shares have "spaces" I tried the quotes and a back slash before the space but it will not mount and it adds a %20
DoctorRockso 4 years ago
SMB shares with a space mount fine with a script. Thanks for that tutorial too.
