So more legal guns means more good people with guns. On the other hand forbiding guns means that just criminals will get them. You guys are acting like idiots. The Assistant Police Chief didn't say anything about "people running for their lives" or "cowering in fear" or even "scaring children". She said some citizens were concerned. The 2nd amendments doesn't say anything about being able to open carry so not allowing open carry is not unconstitutional. I am a big advocate of the 2nd amendment and concealed carry but there is no logical reason anyone needs to open carry unless they are on the job.

A person trained to the same level as a law enforcement officer will never be respected by a law enforcement officer as an equal. That is the problem. It seems that 16 weeks in a academy makes them better servants to the community than people who have years of training in firearms.

I used to live in Ocean Beach, I'd love to be there with you. It's one of the best places in southern california to shoot the pier. HB is okay, but OB has a fantastic section for surfing right under the pier. There used to be a drug wall, never seen anythign like it, they built a police substation right in front of the place they used to sell drugs. You'd walk by 100 people sitting down, each of them telling you which narcotic, drug, etc they had for sale. Crazy days, I'm str8 edge!
If there was only one person carrying a gun, what do you suppose the cops would do? Surround him with their guns drawn and demand the he get on the ground? This is the good thing about a bunch of people exercising their rights; the cops aren't likely to surround anyone threatening to fill him with bullets.
When I was young my family moved away from the city and we settled in a rural area. I was four years old when first introduced to firearms. My father gave me a nickel for candy and he told me to go to the general store which was near the end of our long dirt driveway and to get a box of .22 bullets and put it on his tab. Inside the store the .22s were located inside the candy counter display and I got my candy and the .22s and I walked home with them and dad showed me how to shoot a gun.

If I were to witness a group of seemingly law abiding citizens strolling along carrying their rifles I would be LESS intimidated, or wondering what was going on then if I witness the same amount of police officers with long rifles because then you're never quite sure what has happened, might happen and if you are not by accident in the wrong place! I agree with people's right to defend themselves. However, if everybody had guns there will always be trigger happy people to where if someone accidentally step on someone's shoe, they'll be blown away. You guys are acting like idiots. The Assistant Police Chief didn't say anything about "people running for their lives" or "cowering in fear" or even "scaring children". She said some citizens were concerned. The 2nd amendments doesn't say anything about being able to open carry so not allowing open carry is not unconstitutional. I am a big advocate of the 2nd amendment and concealed carry but there is no logical reason anyone needs to open carry unless they are on the job.

The average cop don't give two shits about your rights and even the good ones will show up after you've been robbed or shot. I used to live in Ocean Beach, I'd love to be there with you. It's one of the best places in southern california to shoot the pier. HB is okay, but OB has a fantastic section for surfing right under the pier. There used to be a drug wall, never seen anythign like it, they built a police substation right in front of the place they used to sell drugs. You'd walk by 100 people sitting down, each of them telling you which narcotic, drug, etc they had for sale. Crazy days, I'm str8 edge!

When I was young my family moved away from the city and we settled in a rural area. I was four years old when first introduced to firearms. My father gave me a nickel for candy and he told me to go to the general store which was near the end of our long dirt driveway and to get a box of .22 bullets and put it on his tab. Inside the store the .22s were located inside the candy counter display and I got my candy and the .22s and I walked home with them and dad showed me how to shoot a gun.

I agree with people's right to defend themselves. However, if everybody had guns there will always be trigger happy people to where if someone accidentally step on someone's shoe, they'll be blown away. I also imagine a lot of accidental death will occur too and how about children?? If the gun law is reinstated, hopefully ONLY proven responsible people can have them. I don't like the 2nd Amendment. Today some people get all excited just by holding a cartridge since they never held one before. The type of people you speak of are little to none, and I would much rather have the majority of the populace armed, with an idiot in the mix, than a completely disarmed public, and the idiot in the mix.

The cop that said he had "no comment" was too scared of his masters to openy support the same Constitution he took an oath to defend, it has to be miserable to go through life as a coward afraid to give an opinion, but then again he probably thinks hes our boss and shouldnt have too. The female cop is a loser too. As former military I used to like most cops, lately its been exactly the opposite, not all but it seems most cops are taught to be chickenshit bullies.

Never assume cowardice through the withholding of opinion. Some people realize that opinions are like assholes, use your imagination from here. It's good to see people exorcising their rights though. If I was living in San Diego I'd be out there with my rifle and side arm as well.

I believe to be a good cop, youve got to have alot of balls and if I was a cop in that situation, I would have looked right at the camera and said that these people are simply exercising their rights as free citizens and walked away. Bye his lack of comment, it makes him appear to be indifferent with what these people are doing. Give us your opinion officer, we would like to know

The fact that people use guns as protection against those who would not follow the law is sufficient reason to keep them around. You really don't seem to get the fact that criminals often get their weapons illegally. You'll never see all guns eliminated from the earth because there will always be those who seek to live outside of the rule of law, and there will always be someone who will stand up for the weak and protect them...including you.
