  • How many Psi did you boost, what crank pulley and charger pulley did you use?

I got a B16B and a JRSC with a 4.2pulley. Planning on going with the JRSC on the B16B.

  • @wasow001 I ran 9psi in that setup. I ran a CRV crank pulley, I forget what size blower pulley I had, it's been a while

  • Oh man i didnt know this was your car, how did it get stolen, i have every security feature and my eyes glued to my crx all the time

  • @Brendon00000 my CRX didn't get stolen, I sold it to get my S2000 and that got stolen. S2000's are easy to steal unfortunately.

  • @candymanjl Did you leave the key in he cup holder with the door unlocked?

  • @dinosoarskill17 don't need a key to get into a convertible, and you don't need the key to steal a car, it's much easier than that.

  • @candymanjl sorry to hear :( s2k's are beautiful cars

  • Very nice upgrade lol are you boosting that?

  • @91DAintegraB20 the S2000 was awesome, I was going to put on Mase Engineering's turbo kit, that kit is sick! but it was stolen before I got the kit. I've had 3 Honda's stolen from me so I'm done with Honda's for a while, got something different now. maybe down the road when all these thieves die or go to jail I'll get another Honda.

  • @candymanjl wtf!! thats fukd up man fuck thieves theyll all die soon!!! sorry for your loss i had a civic stolen not to long ago either it sucks

  • @91DAintegraB20 yeah it blows but what are you gonna do

  • There was more to that post but youtubes reply system sucks like the JRSC FMU.

I went on to say the supercharger is nice because the power is always there and ready to go. Personally I can not stand smashing the gas peddle to the floor and then waiting for the power to come on.

From my experience SC's have less trouble than turbo setups. The only problem most ever get with SC's is a slipping belt. With turbos you have couplers blowing off, turbos spewing oil into the intake, boost spikes, lag..

  • @snowseeker1 pros and cons with both for sure. the biggest drawback with the superchargers is that they're small blowers and you're maxed out around 300whp vs turbo where you can go with a lot more power.

  • @snowseeker1 look up JR new rotrex supercharger best of both worlds :D

  • Hey nice vid, How did you wire the Crx harness with the Gsr and did you have to switch out your knuckles if so can you message me back.

  • check out rywire, they sell everything. if you get an OBD I GS-R motor it drops right in, you just need the sub-harness for VTEC. as far as axles the DC integra axles work with the Si hubs, if you don't have an Si then I don't know for sure. also check out hasport, they have a lot of good info.

  • nice setup man

    I got a 95 eg hatch b18c5 JRSC @ 6psi + W/I, dc ceramic header, precision 550cc, couple other basic mods, tuned on neptune 227whp 155tq.

    runs a 13.4@105 on 205 50 15 Toyo Ra1s

planning on going 84mm bore, ls 89mm crank, lht, 10-11psi, kamikaze, etc. etc. hoping for 280whp and at least 200tq

  • nice man, should be a beast in the end!

  • I think it's definitely worth the money because you gain power for the lower intake temps and the porting they do to the manifold. in the end though it is a little pricey, so if it's too much you could get AEM's water / meth kit and just run that. your intake temps will drop a lot just only in boost. on my buddy's supercharged S2000 he has the kit and even running only water the temps drop while in boost.

  • Hey man nice set up, just curious about hte charger, it's kind of pricey so do you think it was worth the money? I'm running 12psi without one at the moment and getting 250whp but i hate to think what my intake temps are, I only use it in short bursts because of this, was thinking of going water/meth injection instead of the IC conversion, what do you think?

  • Nice flat torque curve, awesome for such a light car!

  • hey i like your set just wondering how u ran a intercooler with a jrsc i was debating over going turbo or jrsc

  • LHT Performance makes the intercooler for the JRSC. they actually modify the JRSC intake manifold and turn the manifold itself into an intercooler. as far as turbo vs supercharger it depends how much power you want. up to 300whp the charger with the intercooler is awesome. if you want over 300whp the charger can't do it so go turbo.

  • dang this is the swap ive been researching that i want to do to my crx

    nice car man

    how relieble is it?

is it the type r b18c or the gsr?

  • I've got 20,000 miles on this setup so it's pretty reliable :) it was a B16 swap originally then I got a B18C bottom end so now it's a 1.8L motor with the B16A head. the extra torque of the B18C in such a lite car makes a huge difference, definitely worth it!

  • I'm running a kamikaze header with a 2.5" collector. for the crank pulley I'm running the CRV pulley. that pulley is nice because it spins all the accessories a little extra so you get a little more voltage from the alternator.

  • what header and crank pulley are you runing? Im pretty much sold on getting a jrsc for my 98 4dr gsr. jrsc + 440's + s300 = ownage! just the right power for my DD.

  • the charger is great for daily driving, power everywhere, the down low power will not be matched by a turbo. ultimately you've get more power with turbo but you can get good power from the JRSC setup, especially with the intercooler.

  • which is more cheaper to maintain s/c or t/c? im gona get a b18c1 but not sure wat to get, im want to be around 280whp, what do u recomend? it would be daily driven.. thanks!! nice car by the way

  • I'd say done right they're both the same to maintain. both will need a fuel pump, injectors, and a programmable ECU. the supercharger will give you instant boost but the turbo will reach 280whp easier. the supercharger will get there but you'll have to build the motor, the turbo you can get there on boost alone.

  • turbo it. its so much easier to upgrade later. and i personally think the "wine" noise gets fucking annoying. plus you would need over 10psi on a supercharger to even think about 280whp unless you do a lot of other shit. but a simple turbo kit will do WAY over 280whp. i would personally invest a little bit of money in lower the compression of the b18c1. id rather run 10lbs and get 280whp on 9:1 than 7lbs on 10:1.

  • Turbos are lame, everyone has one. I own 2 supercharged hondas and I just love them!

  • ha ha, supercharged is fun, power everywhere

  • @snowseeker1 I love turbos so much, but now I'm starting to consider going s/c instead, want to fill me in on how you like the supercharger? More torque less torque?

  • @kylestark11 it's great if you daily drive the car, power everywhere, no waiting for a turbo to spool up. no turbo car is going to give you these power gains before VTEC. that being said ultimately a turbo setup will give you more power to the wheels. these blowers max out around 300whp. 300whp is plenty fast for DD especially in a CRX. but if you really want to haul ass then go for a good turbo kit and 500+whp :)

  • @kylestark11

Like mentioned I like the any time power. Nothing I hate more than smashing the gas peddle to the floor and than waiting for the power to come. From my experience supercharged cars have less trouble than turboed cars ( I deal with tons of each) They sound cool. lol There are never any boost spikes, no lag, no couplers blowing off, no junk turbo spewing oil into the intake, very reliable. The only problems I ever see with SC's are slipping belts and lean conditions on cars with -

  • the basic JRSC FMU. With any kind of boost I would very highly recommend hondata!

  • @snowseeker1 @snowseeker1 yeah Jackson Racing's FMU sucks, it's horrible. I haven't seen people run lean from them but I've seen them go pig rich from them locking up.

I ran the AEM EMS on my CRX and it was perfect. for fuel I had an Aeromotive FMU that added 1 psi of fuel pressure per psi of boost. 550cc injectors, and a Walbro in tank pump. all the fuel and control I needed :)

  • @kylestark11 look up the rotrex supercharger im sure youll make up your mind when you see it and its capabilities

  • @91DAintegraB20 Rotrex is boost by rpm though, like a Vortech. so you only get full boost at redline, kinda gay to me. if you're going to have to wait for power you might as well go turbo.

  • @candymanjl Not really all the videos i seen of it have quick throttle response just like the jackson racing and they make alot more power look up rotrex itr its making over 400whp with toda and another is a rotrex k20 ek on 7psi makin 323whp

  • @91DAintegraB20 quick response yes, but they're still boost by rpm. so if you're running 8 psi max at 8000 rpm at 6000rpm you'll have 6psi, at 4000rpm you'll only have 4psi, 2000rpm 2psi, etc.

the blowers are very efficient and capable of good power, but it's only going to be at peak rpm, not in midrange rpm. if it's on a race only car then your rpm's are always up and it's not as big a deal. but for normal driving you'll have to downshift to get into the power just like a turbo kit.

  • @candymanjl youll only have to downshift if you have an underpowerd single cam lol.. wat im trying to get at is the rotrex will make more power over your type of sc because if i recall even when your racing on the freeway streets or watever like in your video the lag is minimal on go then youll be in high rpms anyway after 1st gear so youll be at peak power 99% of the time... but i do understand wat your saying regular driving yes your sc is instant power but the rotrex is not far behind

  • @91DAintegraB20 a rotrex is instant boost, just not instant full boost at any rpm that's all. a properly sized turbo would have more midrange power than a rotrex.

they're all good kits, they just offer different powerbands with some pros and cons.

  • @candymanjl Yea i kno..sick crx by the way you should look into going 2.0L ive seen that set up making up to 288whp!!!!

  • @91DAintegraB20 ha ha, if I still had the car then the motor would have been built by now :) I sold it to pick up an S2000. the guy I sold it to has already built the motor though, not sure how much power he's making now.

  • Is there a writeup somewhere that I can read and research on? I'm interested in making mine supercharged. Cause I hear turbos are motor killers.

  • I'm on the clubhonda forums, post on there and we can help you out.

  • GOOD NUMBERS BRO....!

  • thanks, I'm going to get it dyno'd again soon with the 30 shot :) just waiting to rent the dyno until my buddy's supercharged S2000 is ready to get tuned.

  • did you up-rate the internals as the compression would be different? like high comp and low comp? im looking at super-charging my sir2 with a b18 :D

  • the motor is completely stock internally. if your motor is in good condition and you stay under 300whp you're usualy good, stay under 250whp and you're really good. tuning is everything! go cheap on the tuning stuff and your motor won't last as long.

  • That is insane bruv!

    Rated!!!

    Must be fukin rapid.

  • ha ha, thanks, it's pulling pretty good now, in a couple of months the local track will open up and we'll see what it does at the track :)

  • my car used to be turbo, but now im thinking of going supercharge.really need help..i lack info about supercharged b18s on crx's..haha..

  • the supercharger is cool, I think I would have gone turbo though if I knew before that the DRAG kits let you keep A/C. but I like my kit, definately plan on getting the LHT Performance intercooler for the supercharger, it's awesome! the install is pretty easy, the same as putting it on any other B series motor. you just have to hammer out the fender to make room for the alternator pulley. check out my site for more info if you want.

  • im sorry if im asking so much questions,,so basically u just buy a kit from a 99-00 civic SI and it will bolt on??u have myspace bro???

  • was installation hard??(supercharger)was it a jackson charger?any modifications made to install it??info please,by the way 238whp on a light car,,whoaaaa!!!!!!

  • the install isn't that bad, there's just not a lot of space in there. it's a jackson racing supercharger kit with a lht performance intercooler kit running 9psi. and yeah, in a 2300 pound car (full interior, a/c, stereo, spare tire) it's a lot of fun but more power is coming!
