Freedom from all the hassles in his life and all that. The meaning of the song is lovely. I think I wasn't born yet when this song became popular.

Thanks Jokarilon. This takes me back to 1983 when I lived in Orange, Provence for a year as a 21 year old. I also remember: Toute premier fois by Jeanne Mas, songs by a band called Indochine, Michel Sardou and so many more. For some reason though this song and on va s'aimer (?) are the 2 that I remember most. Happy memories.
