There's a hidden secret (think it's a life) behind those gas canister things, you need to repeatedly shoot them for like ten minutes before they blow up though. :P Flame thrower makes it easier.
Also, why aren't you exploiting the boss' weaknesses?
Excellent Walkthrough!!! Thanks god you put those text boxes, they are helpfull. I really hate when people doing a walkthrough talks and talks when i just wanna enjoy the game and its music (storm eagle's stage theme is my favourite)
Just a quick tip: you can dash pushing the dash button (look at the option menu), I put that dash button on the L button of the controller so with R I change the weapon. The dash can be used whit the wall jump to further jump distance! :D
@ModernDayReview88 Mega Man X will always be my #1 MM game, for being the first game i played on snes. MM2 is my 2nd fav MM game, half for the awesome music, half for the nostalgia :)
i wonder what happen 2 protoman he is as strong like zero but in the fights whit X he is just holding back... and i tink X din`t die just lost his memories as show in The Day of Sigma ur something..
Great walkthrough :) I have a retarded question as I haven't played Mega man X. What happened to the original Mega Man? Did Dr. Light trash him or did he get destroyed or something? I remember from part 1 that Proto Man was still there. I know I'm retarded
Thanks, Linkeh! As far as I know, Mega Man's fate was never explained in MMX or any other series. Some people believe X himself is actually the original Mega Man, but that doesn't make much sense, because Light would have had no reason to completely reprogram Mega Man with a new personality, body, powers, and name. In my opinion, Mega Man (and all the other first-generation characters) simply died sometime before the X series. By the way, the red guy in Part 1 is Zero, not Proto Man. :)
Thanks :) Capcom should make Mega Man 10 to transition toward Mega Man X in my opinion...or at least make a Mega Man X explaining what happened. Thanks again for the explanation.
No problem. :) Yeah, a sequel explaining the transition between Mega Man and X would be seriously awesome, but Capcom seems to prefer keeping a loose connection between the two series.
For instance, Zero's silhouette can be seen at the end of Bass's story in Mega Man: The Power Fighters, but he is never called by name. Then later in the X series, Zero has flashbacks of Wily's silhouette, but Wily is never called by name. I guess Capcom just likes to keep the fans guessing. :D
um how do u record sound with hypercam becuz i followed the instructions of this guy to put sound with my hypercam and my sound is just horrible, can u tell me what u did to get it? or if i just missed the recorded on the emulator....
Runestone, the instructions on how to get Hypercam to record sound directly from your computer (instead of from the microphone) are too lengthy to post in one of these comments, so I'll tell you how to do it in a PM. ;)
i was playing and i was fighting a secret miniboss in sting chameleons stage and i thought"F**k i ust wasted 5 minutes of my life"ill tell you,as soon as that light capsule dropped from the sky after i beat the miniboss,i shouted"Thank you God!"
I always found it interesting in this game, how beating one level will effect the other.
Like, if you beat the falcon guy before Spark Mandrill, the Falcon guy's ship will crash in Spark Mandill's lair and certain portions of his base will malfunction, making it easier for you.
And since You defeated Chill Penguin first, it effected this guy's level...making it easier to maneuver by making more areas accessible. I always loved that little trait about this game.
"Um.. is this supossed to be falling so fast? Teleport me, quick!

I usually go to Spark Mandrill second, because shotgun ice is his weakness.

I also loved how using certain abilities on certain opponents would disable them, like severing some of their signature body-part weapons.
