in the 90's it would be fixed with a sliding hammer an screw driver within a hour lol poor car should never lock brakes keep power on cossie will pull you out of trouble
@hunghuge12 rolling shell £2500 - £3000!!! also did you notice how he missed all the tyres and neatly sticks it into the barrier! thats just unlucky!!
Iwas there that day and that was waiting to happen he nearly did it the lap before but managed to save it!! the whole crowd were shocked but me and my mate were cheering like hell!! shame but hey shit happens!!!
@Draxindustries1 aha do you know anything about cars? thats a ford escort rs. changed motoring for many, proved that cars that go like stink, dont need to be expensive or impractical. this thing will show up most things on the road even today. and it's sad to see one go, because true originals are becoming so rare!
Ouch! poor old Cossie! :( Still, at least the guy seemingly walked away without an issue. Time to get re-shelling!
I've never been to this circuit, but that must a really fast corner that's very easy to get it wrong on! I saw a really nice new age WRX STi meet a similar fate in pretty much the same spot.
@bizzyfingers no you got it wrong mate, if you've never crashed it doesn't mean you've never gone fast. If you've crashed and you've been going fast, it means you're a shit driver and were going too fast

Wonder if the owner wants to sell me his Morettes i think they survived the crash, tell him i've got a mint cossie in one piece they'd be going to a good home - not a loser who can't drive & crashes it on track days showing off!!!
One less Cossie, puts the prices up for those remaining - Keep crashing them boys & i'll just leave my 23K Minter sat in the garage & use my TVR Sagaris for daily use ;-)))
Poor sod bet hes gutted, still least he drives it not like most worth drivers who polish polish ploish, we can all appreciate the time and effort that goes into some of them but come on get them out and drive them like they should be.!!!!
It's not too much of a loss he could buy a new one strip the front head lights and the engine and turbo (if it has one) the only thing that are scrap are his wheels and spoiler he could buy a normal escort (cheap) and put the parts on.
wtf? I'm no Vettel but I know when the track goes to the right its best to turn right rather than going straight on!

was this lap one? if not why did he think he could just 'add' 40mph to the corner entry speed. that was a heavy shunt!

@sorryunlucky Apart from the fact that the Escort Cosworth has the seirra cosworth floor pan and not the normal escort floor pan.

@Aliasify
He could buy a cheap Cosworth with minor damage then and put the parts on will probably just have to respray it.
