thanks Neil Peart, and we all do still mourn your horrible loss of wife and child, but thank u so much for drumming again. You will always be the worlds best drummer, always
@1dgbass1 The only way we'll see a band like this again is if Alex, Geddy, and Neil all get reincarnated in a future era, and become musicians again. Whether or not you believe in reincarnation aside, it's still pretty unlikely.
im 14 jus like the high rated guys, i wish i coulda bben alive to see them on thier presto, moving pictures, hold ur fire, counterparts and all those other tours, but im also happy i saw them on vapor trails, r30 , snakes and arrows (twice), and espicially time machine, LONG LIVE RUSH, (or at least the legacy)
The Simmons electric drums Neil used (why he didn't use acoustic drums like on all versions from 1977-mid 1983 and 1996-2002 I won't know), Steinberger bass (everyone either had those or Scepter in the 1980s), the Ovation acoustic guitars (no one really uses them nowadays it's either Martin or Gibson), the Miami Vice suits. Can't get any better. Only Rush used those things and looked cool.
yes. van halen played one. for a period of time, they were really popular with musicians musicians. but now i dont really see them anymore unless a veteran takes one out his his old stash.
allan holdsworth used to play one for years and you can't get any better than him.
even if you dont like rush you have to admit that they are one of the greatest bands this world has ever seen. perfect musicianhsip and each one is a master of his instrument. in-fucking-credible!!!
I swear this might be the 5th post I have read of a young person on youtube such as yourself wishing he/sh was alive in the 60's,70's or 80's. As someone who saw the Power Windows tour in 1985, enjoy your time now. The past is the past. Live your own life in the here and now and don't worry so much about a seemingly glorified past. Sorry for the preaching.
Haha it's all good. I definitely do agree with you, the past is the past. I'm makin the most of the here and now, I'm not wishing anything different, but...yeah it would have been amazing to see them live back then. Not gonna lie.
It's funny, I think they sounded better on the Vapor Trails tour (not too long ago) than the Power Windows tour. Sometimes the past is overrated. Anyway, I hear what you're saying though. I wish I could have seen The Who in 1970However, I was only an infant then..
Yeah, I know what you mean, I'm 15 and really wish I could have seen them when they first started out, when they were touring grace under pressure, and Roll The Bones. Luckily I'm going to see them in 5 days! :)
@Zanman450 their new album Clockwork Angels is even better from what ive heard. caravan abd BU2B make snakes and arrows look like garbage in my opinion. (yes i did like the album xD)
I hear ya, all the bands I grew up loving are all retiring. Either that or they charge 500 bucks a pop (Roger Waters *grumbles*). I'm 17, by the way. Rush was my first concert.
I heartily agree fanooger; and Ana I wish i could've seen them in thier heyday like that.... Ahh the double-edged sword of youth. Having listened to this band since I was in the womb I've grown quite attached to them over the years. If only we had a time machine. *sigh*
Why in God's name is he using the Steinberger with Closer? He should be using one of his Rickenbackers, or at least his Fender.

This is mid 80's. Grace Under Pressure tour occured, naturally, after the release of the album in 1984.
