  • I'm about to kill 13 people.

  • These guys are soooo good, easily one of the pioneers in the melodic hardcore genre

  • IT PREVAILS IS FUCKING INSANE. so please, shut the fuck up haters.

  • This sounds pretty nice actually

  • Sounds like every melodic hardcore band ever.

  • @AILDforever50 your account name : AILD forever. XD

  • @Redtractor22 Your point? ...Metalcore is better than any kind of hardcore IMO.

  • @AILDforever50 Every metalcore sounds the same. in hardcore you have a mutlitude of subgenre : melodic hardcore, pregressive hardcore, 2-step hardcore, southern hardcore and many others. don't tell me Parkway Drive is better than Counterparts, please

  • @Redtractor22 There are different styles of metalcore as well, any of which sound far better to me than any hardcore. It's just personal preference. It's not about which one is "better" you can't compare bands in different genres to one another cause it's all about opinion in that case. For me, Yes, Parkway Drive > Counterparts.

  • @AILDforever50 Then, one day will come that you will realize what metalcore really is, and you will clearly see that there's so much more inspiration and meaning in melodic hardcore then every metalcore band you can name.

  • @Redtractor22 Again, that depends on what means something to you. Bands like August Burns Red, For Today, As I Lay Dying mean everything to me with their words. Hardcore definitely isn't lacking emotion/inspiration but that doesn't change how it sounds compared to metalcore. I am aware that there are a bunch of "metalcore" bands that severely lack in these things, none of which are my favorites. Unlike those listed above.

  • @AILDforever50 good point. the band you said are really awesome bands, but they're all christian... i feel that christianism is begining to be a subject quite overused by bands these days

  • @Redtractor22 lol @ "christianism". too funny.

  • @LoLChampYouDaSexy Then laugh about someone who's not good in english. you,re on Youtube, just saying.

  • @Redtractor22 Well I am a Christian haha so it all makes sense. It's not a subject to be overused, when you are a Christian and it's the most important thing in you're life, it's what you make music about.

  • @AILDforever50 Good point.

  • @Phuckaducker Nice Eyes, I Didn't Even Notice The Shai Hulud Shirt! :)

  • if i see sleeping with sirens - if you cant hang one more time in the side bar...

  • the best sound of any metal band, i love how unique it prevails is.

  • @daniboi195 This is unique? This must be the only band you listen to.

  • @CloggedLacrimalGland show me another band like this.

  • +1 for the Shai Hulud shirt!

Still a bit puzzled with the current trend of bands playing in forests though. I mean where do they plug in their amps? It just doesn't make any sense!

  • @Phuckaducker

Duh, the trees obviously haha :p

  • @Phuckaducker lol must have a generato ran on gas or somme shit

  • @Phuckaducker I agree, although bands don't generally ACTUALLY plug into anything when they make a video :P

  • what's interesting about It Prevails is how in every music video they have everybody in the band looks at least a little bit different, if not a whole lot, except for Ian Fike the singer. He always looks exactly the same

  • sick band

  • zajebisty kawałek... klip też jest spoko - chuj, że las - jest klimat

  • nvm my last post wrong guitar

  • if any wants to know Chris's guitar its a G&L ASAT Tele with P90's just if any on is curious.

  • Don't get me wrong i love this song, but the video based in a forest is becoming so clichéd

  • majestic as FUCK

  • Dont get me wrong, I love the music but im not a fan of the video.

  • this whole video is awkward

  • who farted/pasted gas/broke wind/let one fly???

    Thank you :)

  • Nothing short of amazing.

  • Chiped symbol?

  • forgetable

  • This could be the best put together song out of any It prevails songs. And thats sayin alot with as many great songs this band has made. @ 2:13 if your heads not noddin theres somethin wrong with ya. Great Song

  • Vocalist sounds a bit like Jeff Moreira from Poison the Well- real emotion in his voice. Parts actually sound a bit like early PTW- a really underrated band. These guys seem cool, just glad to see there are bands out there still making decent music- especially with the total wank Rise usually churn out.

  • this continues and will remain to be my all time favorite song. and the fact that i basically know Ian and Chris makes me get exactly what they are feeling

  • I remember when I attempted see these guys in augusta, ga. I had just had foot surgery and had only enough money to buy a CD, all the sudden their someone in the band asked if I want to see them and offered to help out. I ending up saying no and just bought their CD. seriously, awesome dudes who make awesome music.

  • This band are up there with few saving hardcore, the lead singers voice is incredible

  • Reminds me od Old school Emmure in my opinion.

  • @chubsoneil Please don't relate this to Emmure

  • @chubsoneil Flat out WRONG pal, sorry.

  • @TheDjentleman1224 lmfao. i was thinkin the same thing.

  • Rise's biggest mistake was dropping this band

  • how could you hate on this band? aside from the fact they WERE with rise records, pretty sure they are with mediaskare now? which is a great company IMO. not to mention this band is soooo pash

  • Most awkward position I've ever seen someone hold a bass.

  • @nolliefIip yeah he must have been a guitarist first than a bassist

  • @nolliefIip There's nothing awkward about it when you make good music & get profit from it.

  • Obvious who influences these guys... the beginning reminds me a lot like Hopeless by FTFD.

  • @sk8fakie "Changes" came out 2008 "The Inspiration" came out 2007. guess its obvious who influences FTFD

  • @wheelchair123 That was what first came to mind. Don't crap your pants bro. I obviously don't pay much attention to this band. I prefer FTFD, and a lot of hardcore/post-hardcore influenced bands take from each other.

  • @sk8fakie You obviously know nothing about Ian and It Prevails. Inspirations for these guys are bands like Park and Armor For Sleep... I know...cause i've asked him.

  • @AnthonyFamiglietti Don't get bent out over it lol. It's just that little lead beginning that has a similar sound/feel. I never said they sucked. Ha.

  • @sk8fakie Except this album came out a whole year before FFTD released Changes.

  • @HunterJosephPalmer93 cool story... I enjoy both bands.

  • i like how everybody cant talk shit on this band because they are perfect, so they try and find something to troll about, the fucking Forrest.. FAGGOTS...

  • It's forest core

  • @catdogdora1

I hear the woods have great acoustics

  • @catdogdora1 Corest

  • @skylitbullet because they are anomalies

  • Is the bassist bare footed? What a beast

  • All of you do know that they're not a rise records band right? lol they're signed to Mediaskare this song was when they were signed with rise but rise barely uploaded the video this year i suppose. But yea they're not with rise they're with mediaskare.

  • Hell yeah love jumping up and down for no apparent reason.

  • i like how this video is hidden in there "archive" its like there embarresed of this

  • SHITT WHERE HAVE THESE GUYS BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE D:

  • @SoupyRS Dude. They're fucking insane. All three cd's. Their latest album stroma is just insane.

  • Im just know noticing the random scene change

  • wow! rise record do have good bands... I mean a few ones...

  • wow these guys used to be really boring. the new album Stroma is the shit.

  • Are they Christian?

  • @sacredxpain

Some of the members might be Christian, but they're not a Christian band.

  • @TylerSGeorge Um...Ian is downright Atheist. Just ask him about it.

Look up the song explanation: content off their first album.

The band is pretty much atheist/secular. No traces of religion at all.

  • @AnthonyFamiglietti Did you even read my comment before you typed that? I said SOME OF THE MEMBERS MIGHT BE CHRISTIAN. Ian isn't the only member in the band.. You know that, right? One of the other ones may in fact follow Christianity. If not, oh well. That wasn't the question to begin with.

I CLEARLY stated that they are not a Christian band. (Was that easy enough to read this time?)

"Source": Actual fan, in a band, that has helped out It Prevails every time they came through PA this year.

  • @sacredxpain Not at all. Ian the lead singer is a very vocal atheist and it permeates through the lyrics that he writes.

Look up their song explanation content off their first album and read the lyrics online, they come with a note where he clearly states he's an atheist.

Source...I've talked to him a few times and we're friends on facebook.

  • @sacredxpain yes sir

  • i want al those instruments.....

  • there on mediaskare still right? i played with them yesterday and they said there on mediaskare.

  • @cristhizz23 yea they still are

  • @cristhizz23 Yeah, because they're too good for Rise. Rise treats their bands like they don't mean anything to them, and they fuck them all over for personal gain. Look at the bands on Rise. All of their lyrics are disgusting. It Prevails deserves the same positivity they give the rest of the world.

  • @rayXklish yeah for real.

  • Comment removed

  • @skylitbullet Too late.

  • epic spinning at 3:11

  • i like to press 8

  • this band is fucking awsome... as always!

  • @skylitbullet they already released their new shit with someone else

  • @skylitbullet they were only on rise for one year and no one could change these guys theyre amazing!

  • "American Me" and "It Prevails" OWNS THAT SHIT!

  • @skylitbullet Haha By far the most badass comment on this video so far. lol. I LOVE this band!...Not such a big Rise fan.

  • @HardHouseMan1 They did a good job with Closure In Moscow and The Color Morale though. So we will see.

  • @skylitbullet you're retarded

  • wow this band stunned me lml awesome

  • wow so good! i need my merch now!

  • I saw these guys live the other night. They sound even better live :)

  • I feel like Misery Signals does this style best but these guys write some pretty nice melodies.

  • @sumdude116 so true.

  • i love this band, but there is way too much pogo going on in this video, haha.

  • Anyone Else Notice The Bassist Is Bare Foot

  • @skylitbullet They aren't on rise. They WERE once. this album isn't new. this is from 2007. To have one music video from each release, they made this on late 2011. they are now a mediaskare and actually released a new album on that label called "Stroma".

  • Sooooo much emotion in this song, I freaking love it!!

  • my bro is in this band Lol

  • @skylitbullet You are aware that only their first album was Rise? and the reason this is under the Rise channel is because they have right to this song because it was on their debut rise album. Rise told IP that they wanted to make their second release a digital only so they clipped it and self released Capture through a indie label/studio. Turns out Craig Rise loved the 2nd album. Rant over.

  • @skylitbullet How could Rise fuck something up that they have nothing to do with?

  • I wish they'd had some clean parts. sounds good tho.

  • @Luisitox5 No, no, no, no, no and no. No clean vocals, ever, period.

  • @RemcoMB hahahahahahaahham, sorry dude.

  • hey guys i play drum for awaysincejuly go listen our recent studio track and comment please ..........it prevails rock hehe

  • misery signals but with different name

  • @skylitbullet Heard the new album? I didn't think so :)

    It Prevails stays amazing

  • bass player needs to get some shoes

  • In fact, they haven't been on Rise since 2007 when The Inspiration came out.

  • Melodic Hardcore = The Carrier, Defeater, Dead Swans, Ruiner, Killing the Dream, etc.

Melodic Metalcore - It Prevails, Misery Signals, Hundredth, etc.

  • @lobster272 pls do some more namedrops, these bands are all mad!

  • @soundslykmusic More Than Life, Modern Life Is War, The Killing Tree, Burdens, Title Fight (mix of pop punk and melodic hardcore), Carpathian, Dangers, Former Thieves, Heart In Hand, At Half-Mast, Balance And Composure... Hope that helps for now. :)

  • @lobster272 sweet man, thanks!

  • @skylitbullet not on rise anymore.

  • My favourite band ever.. I think im not the only one..

  • Melodic Hardcore is a version melodic of hardcore punk : Ignite, Lifetime, Pennywise, Bad Religion, etc, IT PREVAILS is a Metalcore / Post Hc band.

  • MELODIC HARDCORE*, thats it.

  • It Prevails <3 No more words are needed.

  • it seems every hardcore music video takes place in the woods

  • first of these guys are melodic hardcore and second of all they're on mediaskare records not rise.

  • @skylitbullet Little brother, I taught you well.

  • @skylitbullet rise did fuck them up though that's why they aren't on the label anymore. they are now on Mediaskare

  • my boy was rocking out to them when they came to El Paso TX....

  • what does the drummer have written on his snare?

  • these guys deserve to be so much bigger than the majority of the bands in rise records, they blend everything you could possibly like about music. Passion and morality at it's finest, proper melodic hardcore

  • TUALATIN FOR LIFE !

  • I played with these guys along with Counterparts and Volumes. Definetly one of the greatest days of my life sharing the stage with these guys and seeing them live.

  • Comment removed

  • Why did they make a video for this song only now?

and they had way better songs on Inspiration than this in my opinion.

BUT great to see they are still alive and kicking :)

  • @skylitbullet they're with mediaskare now

  • Why are these kinds of bands videos always in forests?

  • @holybeast61 because it feels more down to earth and closer to nature. listen to there lyrics. its something that cant be show at a live show

  • @holybeast61 because forests are magical and beautifull . <3

  • @holybeast61

    it's where man belongs

  • @holybeast61 Might be a budgeting thing, because Rise Records invested in every one of their bands' music videos. If this is the bands' first video, you'll notice its cheap and straight to the point. O_O only you can prevent forest fires.

  • cococrisp20: That will be the best tour music has seen. Counterparts says these dudes are their biggest influence. that would be great.

  • how bout a summer tour with It Prevails, Counterparts, and Hundredth?

  • @cococrisp20 that would honestly be one of the best tours ever

  • @mymomsapanda word, and I would also like TGI or Betrayal to be on it too but they're already on tours

  • @cococrisp20 you just missed a tour they had: It Prevails, Betrayal, Volumes, Counterparts, and Bermuda. IT WAS AMAZING

  • @JayDiOh O.M.G. how did i miss that

  • Guy from the hangover on bass

  • i meet them last night!

  • is ian still in this band?

  • @TheXLTE ofc he is

  • so much emotion. i love it

  • GREATEST BAND ALIVE!!!!!!

  • since when is it prevails signed to rise? :0 awsome This is my dream label :/

  • @GarrettRayKemple They were signed to Rise when they released The Inspiration, which is what album An Anomaly was on. They're currently signed to Mediaskare.

  • 3:09 homeboy aint wearin shoes. FUCK YOU.

  • I love this song, this band, and this video, but it definitely reveals how awkward bands can look when there's not a crowd to cover up at least the bottom 1/4 of their bodies while they're playing, lol.

  • The Dollar Menu Where's the Venue tour was the best ever: It Prevails, Betrayal, Counterparts, Volumes, Bermuda, they better make a DMWTV2.
