What a lovely song, I agree its got a Roy Orbison feel about it , love the arrangement. I only discovered this song by chance and I'm glad I did, gives me goosebumps.
This song reminds me of the days kicking back and sipping on a coldy or three whilst my little brother morned the death of his favorite chook. Ball would pour beers at the Summit Bowling Club and tease Vern endlessly
I love everything about this, the voice, the visuals, the music is great, If I liked country music, I would say this is one of the best. Well, I guess I like some, country music.
This was the first song I ever heard by The Mavericks when CMT was shown in the UK and I have loved this song ever since, as well as the band. The first thing I thought was how much he sounds like Roy Orbsion. I only wish CMT was still showing in the UK.
this song is my most favorite song for so many reasons , my grandma used to pick me up and dance me around the room singing this to me . and it's just a beautiful song you can tell he is hurtin'
Roy Orbison would have done this song beautifully. I think Chris Isaak could do it great too. And if The Beatles had done this song in the 60's, I think John Lennon would have sung it
I can't help wondering if Roy Orbison passed his voice to Raul Malo when he died ......this makes the hair on the back of my neck rise in exactly the same way as 'Crying' does ......
Thanks so much for this video. I was channel surfing at 11:30 pm in 1994 and saw this video for the first time. It motivated me off the couch and running to Tower records in my jammies before they closed. I knew i could never go another hour without hearing that voice. Thanks Raul for all the great music since.
Roy Orbison would have been proud!! these types of songs don't exist enymore. cherish these songs like your yesterdays.

Raul is sure among the greats. Roy Orbison, Elvis, Dwight Yoakam.

Anybody notice the ghost on the right at 0.33 then it disappears at 0.36
Again at 1.46 and disappears at 1.48 again.
Look out its back at 2.01 gone, again at 2.37 hiding at the right of the drummer in the curtain.

An obvious nod to Roy Orbison, but still sends chills up my spine every time I hear it.
