Imagine that! These vocals are the pre-recording vocals not the final. Cozy Powell liked em most so they decide to keep em as it is! Cozy you were right! RIP!
The Tony Martin era is underrated. I have to say, Ozzy is obviously the most identifiable Sab vocalist, he crafted their sound and is a founding member. So really, whether a huge fan of his voice or not, he stands alone at the top. And he's the singer doing the reunion album and tour now. It's the original four. The Dio era has to be 2nd best, the first two Dio albums are superb. I really like Born Again, as well. And the Ray Gillen stuff. Tony Martin to me is last, but still good.
@guitarbassplayer68 He may have sung with them during their first albums, but musically from what I understand he did absolutely shit all; Iommi wrote most of the melodies and Butler wrote the lyrics. So... I do like that stuff with Ozzy in for Sabbath, don't get me wrong, I just don't think he's a particularly talented vocalist. Dio's easily the top for me... Dehumanizer is just such a killer album. Then Martin. Then Ozzy. And fuck Seventh Star!
Five mother fuckers dislikes I fuck your Mother you Mother Fucken Disliker Assliker cock sucker. Katolic asshole Müslim bandit or every mother fucken sick people.
@xgalore77zerha268 Shame on you... That song is an overrated piece of crap. The band themselves didn't like it; they initially rejected it as it was too mainstream. A shame their producers made them keep it... Sabbath had so much more to offer the radio stations than that.
@DarkWolf5250 so much more to offer huh? like what? this pathetic song? black sabbath are an overrated band in general, like i said, they only have one good song, the rest is rubbish.
@xgalore77zerha268 Black Sabbath is pitifully underrated, compared to most of the shit played on the radio. Take Queen as an example. I will admit I haven't heard too much of their stuff, but the stuff I have heard (which is the stuff eveyone's heard at some point on the radio) has been complete shit. And yet they are considered one of the greatest rock bands ever! That's just wrong. Sabbath, especially with Dio and Martin, were awesome.
@DarkWolf5250 lol u would compare the work of freddie to sabbath, sabbath are nothing compared to queen, just a bunch of losers making crap music, could never match the talents of queen.
@xgalore77zerha268 Whoa whoa whoa! Cracking out the personal insults, now are we? Have nothing better to say, so you result to calling someone you don't know at all homosexual? That's pretty rude.
@xgalore77zerha268 Congratulations... You almost managed to say something coherent there! Good try! Go back to grade 1 and learn basic sentence composition, you nit.
@xgalore77zerha268 You know, as much fun as it is talking to someone with the emotional maturity (and intelligence) of your common 5 year old... Quite frankly, this is growing tiresome. So... Adios.
This song is probably my favourite of the entire Tony Martin era Sabbath... And that's saying a lot! I own Eternal Idol, Headless Cross, and Tyr on LP, as well as Cross Purposes on CD, and I love every album, but this particular song always gives me a chill. Especially the final wail, 'Nightwing flies again!'... So good!
@MichellesPoontang Yup... Well, I dunno about any era for me... That may have to be TV Crimes, from Dehumanizer... But this song is fucking amazing. I love the entire Tyr album too, except that one that sticks out on it... Something about Love? Some slow song... Ah, Feels Good. But the rest is killer. I have to stop listening to Headless Cross... I'm wearing down the record!
When i listen to this song I imagine a stealth jet flown by Captain Ronnie James Dio .... wreaking havoc on evil sinners !! "The killer's around the bend .... NIGHTWING flies again !!!!!!!!!!!"
I love the bass in this song... This song and The Shining. They're both so distinctive and easy to hear... And sound good too! The rest of the band is good too, obviously...
When I listen to this song I imagine a stealth jet,50 years from now which has been taken out of the old hangar left untouched for 50 years. China (in an imaginary sense) has taken over the world, yet it never found stealth technology because America destroyed every last trace of evidence. A ghost like figure of Ronnie James Dio re-enters the atmosphere to take controls of this 50 year old stealth bomber to inflict major damage on chinese forces and eventually secure peace for the western world.
I like these sabbath albums with TM.I think they are great. It's cool to discover music that i havent heard before. That being said.I dont care what anyone says.every album ozzy did with sabbath was heavier then every album done with TM.Im not saying that because ozzy made it that way.its just that the early sabbath was much heavier then this.I like to listen to TM era stuff but I wish it was a little heavier
@losdog13 I know there is more to music then being heavier.it's just that when i think of sabbath.I think heavy metal and these TM albums sound more like whitesnake then they do sabbath.I like these albums.I just prefer the di ozzy era
come on guys let be honest, stop arguing about the singer this band is about Iommi(well because geezer wasnt in Tony Martin's era except cross purpose), did you hear the beast of a riff after the scream of Tony at 2:40? best guitarist ever =D, actually Martin is great but i believe the lack of success of Tyr and Headless Cross made them create some regular albums because of the change of direction like cross purposes and fobidden still having some great songs though
i didn't become a fan of sabbath until i found a box of cassettes in my front yard,it was1982,the box contained all black sabbath until that time,i loved it..and through the years with their many changes i still love the sound ..my favorite of the newer albums is seventh star..to me sabbath was some what of a christian band in the eighties...perhaps they always were....the only time i seen them live, dio was fronting dehumanizer in minneapolis on halloween...it was awesome when they had horns on
@billgeezeriommi And Digital Bitch and Hot Line... What's truly terrifying is when your mother, coming up the stairs while I have this LP playing, starts singing the ending of Hot Line... You know, the part where he starts wailing "Hot Line"? My mother is not a singer. At all. It was horrible. I thought my stereo was about to explode.
@DarkWolf5250 Oh Come On - Born Again vs All of Mk II ? Seventh Star vs Mk III ? The work they did with Iommi was great, but it was just a couple of one-off projects.
As for Ronnie - yes that's me who likes Dio's Rainbow better than Dio's Sabbath. Which I like better than Dio Solo.
@CentraCross I have no idea what you mean... Mk II meaning? Mk III meaning? I don't like Seventh Star, in case you thought I did...
For me, Dio is just as good as Dio Sabbath, and Dio Rainbow... They are all awesome. I will admit I haven't listened much to Deep Purple, just Machine Head mainly (if that's what you were referring to in your comment)...
Thank god Tony Iommi had/has a good long life to continue to riff his ass off and add to his already immense collection, kicking our butts through the speakers. (unlike Jimi Hendrix)
@blacksabbathvids No, I'm saying how tragic it would be if Iommi had a short life like Hendrix and was denied the opportunity to create 200+ songs. I'm happy he's still making new songs, pissed that his Japan releases aren't played on American radio, I met him in 1994 at the NAMM and I;m glad all this great stuff is available on youtube.
@WJHHunterston ok haha yeah it is a shame that hendrix went so soon. he was a legend. ive always wanted to see black sabbath and hendrix together but that will never happen :(
this is my favorite song of all time and the reason tony martin is my favorite vocalist of all slightly ahead of dio, geoff tate, and headless cross is my fav sabbath album of all time and i saw sabbath on their first tour through san francisco back in the early 70's and its still the best concert ive ever seen
Tony Martin is agreat singer. But the Dynamic force of the band is enormous...
that album is fantastic.
Notice the intro at this song the 12 strings with the freatless bass, the drums Awsome you never get bored with them. The song changes form 3-4 times like 3 songs to one unique!!!
One of the best Iommi's guitarwork. Tony is always praised as a riff-master, but in the late '80s, during the Martin-era there so many beautiful solos ....
This song is amazing and has everything: acoustic arpeggio+solo, typical Iommi's riff, wonderful solos.... I simply love this song <3
Hey bro, with all due respect, this ain't Dio!! Lol!! This is Tony Martin. If you're uneducated to the Tony Martin era of Black Sabbath, you should have the veils removed....QUICKLY!!! 4 albums of absolute GREATNESS!!
there is 5 albums with tony martin only headless cross and tyr are masterpieces. Cross purposes and eternal idol are good but Forbidden just sucks ass
@insurancedaddy You mean 5 not 4 big Sabbath fan my self 1987 The Eternal Idol,1989 The Headless Cross 1990 TYR,1994 Cross Purposes,1995 Forbidden, All Tony Martin singing and DIO is awesome to All Sabbath is
@carnage6900 You know, the person probably left Forbidden out of it for a reason... I love Sabbath, but I can't stomach Forbidden or Seventh Star except in small, small doses. Forbidden... Even Tony Martin hated that one. I lost all respect for the album after the first song, with the semi-rapping crap... But that's just me. And probably most other Tony Martin-era fans....
In this song and Headless Cross I really must say that Tony Martin unleashes his inner talent, to be honest I don't like his Eternal Idol, I only like THe Shining and Ancient Warrior, by far this is one of the most best albums Tony Martin has ever sang on
Still... Is two incredible albums from the second best SABBATH LINE UP!!! One that marked a very significant time in METAL HISTORY!!! .... Coss Purposes and martin WHO????? lol lol lol ( Sorry) but is it even worth mentioning them??? (we dont think so!!)
Best era of Black Sabbath...

dio is one of the best lead singers of all time. we wish you good health. recover quickly.
slayer9656 2 years ago 7
Hey bro, with all due respect, this ain't Dio!! Lol!! This is Tony Martin. If you're uneducated to the Tony Martin era of Black Sabbath, you should have the veils removed....QUICKLY!!! 4 albums of absolute GREATNESS!!

@CrushJehovah
I don't even count Forbidden....lol. That's why I said 4 albums of greatness.
insurancedaddy 1 year ago
@insurancedaddy wich album dont you like that tony martin did? im wondering cause you said 4 and he did 5 albums with sabbath
billgeezeriommi 1 year ago
@insurancedaddy Lift the veil a bit further, there are 5 albums. Unless you mean only 4 out of the 5 are great.
That being the case I would have to say this album would be my least favourite out of the 5 but that's just me.
A year to reply, well better late than never.

@insurancedaddy You mean 5 not 4 big Sabbath fan my self 1987 The Eternal Idol,1989 The Headless Cross 1990 TYR,1994 Cross Purposes,1995 Forbidden, All Tony Martin singing and DIO is awesome to All Sabbath is
carnage6900 8 months ago
@carnage6900 You know, the person probably left Forbidden out of it for a reason... I love Sabbath, but I can't stomach Forbidden or Seventh Star except in small, small doses. Forbidden... Even Tony Martin hated that one. I lost all respect for the album after the first song, with the semi-rapping crap... But that's just me. And probably most other Tony Martin-era fans....

Black Sabbath both went down in history with Ozzy and will remain forever
tReatCrow 2 years ago
I agree. I hope Ozzy never comes back.
I wish for more albums with Dio, or Tony Martin. One never knows what the future might bring.

tReat,
I saw Heaven And Hell live twice in the past two years. God, how I've loved to have heard Dio sing this (or Headless Cross or Valhalla)!

Great bass solo by Lawrence Cottle, One of Lord Iommi's favourite bassists. It took me almost 5 hours to type "bassists".

In this song and Headless Cross I really must say that Tony Martin unleashes his inner talent, to be honest I don't like his Eternal Idol, I only like THe Shining and Ancient Warrior, by far this is one of the most best albums Tony Martin has ever sang on
MetalRedemption 2 years ago
Most underated Sabbath album

I liked that album, it wasn't a masterpeice, but it was amazing to hear how strong Dios voice still is at his age.
KingConn56 2 years ago
Dio doesn't sing on this album, Tony Martin does.
