  • Nuclear Power under tight regulation is safe and efficient. Green groups are stupid to think we can replace the efficiency of nuclear power with green energy that is too expensive and not enough for the demand. And to compare a Nuclear plant from Japan to a USA or Europe most be out of their mind. and by the way, Once nuclear waste is spend, the radiation is so low is no harm unless you physically handle it or gets in the water. Or put it in a rocket and shoot it to the sun problem solve.

  • @PopesOfDullness thats funny; you seem to worry about the millions of Euros they will need to bury it somewhere..... i think thats better than burying people dont you think??

  • what are they going to do with all the active waste for the next 5,000 years?

  • @alSation81 True but It's probably better to be dormant then active.. right?

  • There are PLENTY of alternative power sources available and what's more, our governments know about them, buy up the patents for them and bury them. No money is needed for research because it's already been done. Power supply is one of the many dupes thrown upon us to have us pay pay pay. We can 'elect' (supposedly elect) our 'leaders', but when is the last time we were given a choice for our energy supply? Sorry to say, its all part of the spaghetti bolognese we call civilisation.

  • Ik hoop de Nederland snel volgt. Al lijkt dat niet te gaan lukken met dit kabinet...

Kernenergie moet op de shop. Goed zo Merkel!

  • GO GERMANY ! hope the rest of the world will follow ! LOVE

  • "Germany's Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle has warned that replacing nuclear energy with renewable sources may cost the country as much as two billion euros each year. "

I wonder how this will affect the economy in the EU. I mean, all EU countries are still recovering from the 2008 crisis. Also, it's just a matter of time before the dollar collapses.

What if everyonne pulls the plug on them nuke plants and don't replace them with equal output facilities, because they don't have the money?

  • wow, the only smart people in the world.

  • Since German urine is 90% ethanol, they can just pee into their generators, free energy !!!!!!!!!

  • @imaginefication The age of fossil fuels, nuclear and corrupt cartels are coming to an end. For over one hundred years we have been manipulated to believe that utilizing fossil fuels is the way to go.. that is the illussion. Did you know that the first combustible engine ran on ethanol? ..and the first diesel engine on peanut oil? (Paris world fair 1889). It was prohibition that ended the ethanol engine. Ever hear of charged clusters, permanent magnets, 0 point energy, cars that run on water?

  • Awesome, I hope germany will look into alternative energies and fund their research.

  • Fantastic news Germany. Let's hope that we here in the UK will follow your lead on this matter.

  • smart move.

  • CONGRATULATIONS GERMANY!

I so hope that our most stupid South African, egotistical President Jacob Zuma follows suit. He certainly didn't heed Thabo Mbeki's knowledgeable & extremely well informed advice regarding the HIV & so-called AID$ SCAM of 28yrs ~ IDIOT! ~ so who knows what this monkey face will choose to do to further jeopardise the lives of our nation??

WELL DONE GERMANY & a special THANKS TO our Frenchman, Alex in Tokyo!

    Alex = YT User: playbacklapompe

    Bless you forever Alex!

  • @annie46664 Thanks for sharing annie. Brilliant news ....now we just need the rest of the world to switch their brains on..and their nuclear reactors OFF. :-)♥

  • @beltanebabe55 good one.

  • Well done Angela, one of the few people left with any sense.

  • YEssssssssssss!

Why does it seem that only the Germans have some common sense left?

  • @YouriCarma Their water isn't fluoridated.. that's why.

  • There are all kinds of flavors of nuclear power I wouldn't totally take nuclear off the table- for example there are some sub-critical configurations ADS and Thorium types that have magnitudes better safety than what we currently have- but they should start decommissioning the older plants.

  • Germany leads now the rest of the world should follow. Perhaps this will create new jobs for many needing jobs.

  • After all this trouble in Japan with that nuclear plant, the world needs to follow suit. No one wants nuclear power plants in their backyard. Too risky.

  • Now the problems all the reactors outside of Germany.

  • Now I am respecting Germany!

  • Absolutely! Well done Germany..

  • @danmarino1970 if a traditionally high-tech country like Germany is doing this, i think its time to listen......

  • right on Germany!

  • This is the right thing to do! We need to move toward safe and renewable energy. Nuclear is too risky! I don't mind paying more for electricity if it is for renewable safe energy.

  • Each nuclear reactor has a - giant roof - to block the fantastical mocking sun

Which gifts each day - Billions of Gigawatts - heat - solar power - winds - ocean currents - biomass - food - building materials - etc. - etc. - and over a longer time - coal - oil - gas - etc.

  • The solution is in micro power not large grid. Focus on solar / wind for every home. Create the system. It''s already been tested and works fine. It will also create jobs and free the people from energy slavery.

  • @2minstral Well, we certainly cannot have THAT! We must have huge windmills creating gigantic amounts of energy for the large corporations that own them so that they can make the economy all better.

  • @PostToastie - lol
