And people wanted to fit a certain demographic and believeing that its the music that makes you who you ae instead of that little nagging voice inside. Some people just stuck to listening to what was hot rather than taking what they liked of that era and following it, so as music got shittier and artist started becoming brainless and greedy, the sheep that could only follow what was "cool" did the same. It's sad really.
