So Holly's gonna marry the guy she's been dating for a little over six months after breaking up with the man she's loved for nearly 30 years? Riiiiiiiiiiight...
Absolutely one of the worse writers' blunders ever. Fletcher's too boring for Holly. Holly always thinks she wants boring, and then she sees what boring is actually like and then chases after Roger. She left Ed, Ross, and eventually Fletcher for Roger. She should've done that here and now, not after marriage and a baby.
@anabanana0714 This was such a dumb move on the part of the writers. Holly and Fletcher had no chemistry, and Fletcher was always such a self-righteous bore. Holly was always most interesting when she was faced with dealing with her inner conflict, and Roger was key to that.
@jamalama Agreed. Even when R/H were happy and healthy, Holly always had to wake up every morning and deal with the fact that she was in love with her rapist, and had to defend everyone's judgement. They always had to WORK at being happy, which is what made them so fun to watch. Holly needs to be challenged. Fletcher was just so blah.
Also, a Roger/Holly baby would've been WAY more interesting than Meg, sorry to say. Blake also would've had major sibling rivalry, despite being a grown woman.
@anabanana0714 I agree 100%. R/H were so good together because they were all about conflict, one way or another. No one wants to watch a boring couple do boring things and not deal with any conflict. Viewers were drawn to R/H because, in side of allof us, there's the person who IS the bad boy or girl...or who is attracted to the bad boy or girl.
@jamalama Exactly! I hate when soaps try to mimic real life, to me that is boring. If I want to watch scenes from a marriage I will stalk my neighbor..lol Holly and Roger were exciting!
