people are always saying they want the "old linkin park back" people keep waiting for linkin park to sound like some kind of heavy metal band like the devil wears prada or hard rock bands like chevelle... but thats not there style the fit into with bands like coldplay, muse, audioslave, incubus. there music is like art..linkin park just grew up so people stop waiting for them to sound like whining emo's.
Linkin Park did such an unique product, that wasn't made for that purpose, what people wanted to hear, like before( well I think) but for do something, what they wanted to do. This album is really beautifull , but in different way, it has so much meaning in misterious ways, it literally talk to us, just you have to hear it, to deeply be in it's athmosphere, That's my statement.
A THOUSAND SUNS is GREAT. End of story. And I'm a fan since Hybrid Theory EP. They're making music for themselves, this album is a piece of art. They can call themselves artists now.
watch the frat party at the pankake festival dvd and then watch this.... its sad. I understand their going to grow up and act more mature and not screw around like they did in their 20's, but still. it doesnt look like their having fun with each other anymore
@de66228 They are having fun. Recording is a horrible process and any band will tell you that. Frat part looked more fun because they were new and they had a lot of hype and were stoked at what they achieved. They always have fun you can watch the behind the scenes footage of their new stuff and they seriously enjoy it. But nobody takes what each other said seriously because recording is probably the worst part of being in a band. The amount of time and effort it takes to get it right is awful.
So happy to see that they aren't just makin music that fans will like but instead, taking a risk on that and writhing stuff that they enjoy and hoping we do too. I for one love their new album, I'm not sayin its the best to me, thats meteora (it relates the best to me) but it is definatley a step forward and not back like everyone else seems to think.
First, I just wnt to say that I respect everyone's opinion on this but in mine, Linkin Park has come such a long way, hybrid theory took the world by storm, meteora was epic, mtm was a big sign of maturity and growth, ats is step i would've never dreamed of. Right before the album came out i'd been thinkin to myself that i wanted some new sound, once again LP came through for me, and being an aspiring producer i looked at it as somethin that was unique and great. I'm a huge LP fan and I'm
As long as they actually enjoy making what they do, and put every fiber of their hearts into it........ im proud to call myself a fan and follow them.
Im a fan of Linkin Park since hybrid theory. And just the way they describe their music they try to make it sound deep and complex when you really him them....they're kinda just saying random shit that doesn't make sense..
To Anybody who didn't like this album, and actually likes linkin park, do this. Force Yourself to LISTEN to it, about 4 times in a row ( the full album). By the fifth time you will be like: "WOW this shit is REALLY good!"
dude did anyone get the cd and dvd of a thousand sun. i thought it was a bad disk so i returned it and the second one i got was the same. i thought i was tripping out and got a bad disk again but me being very smart and all got the hint and figured it out that it was suppsed to b that way. LMFAO! man good times!
Well, I gotta say... as Linkin Park fans throughout the years I gotta say we've all seen Linkin Park progress in their own way -- positive or negative, it's all our opinions. But for myself, I've got to say A Thousand Suns has been too drastic of a change of any Linkin park we as fans have been able to recognize. In MY opinion Minutes to Midnight was a change, but it grew on me. I can't feel a vibe in this new album. It's the same group we've seen through the years, but a very new sound...
@Rukis72 I agree and disagree with you. Yes, the album was quite the drastic turn. At first. But underneath all that new parts that are exclusively ATS, the album surprisingly combined elements of Hybrid Theory/Meteora and MtM with its new sound that it felt familiar to me in a refreshing way. I fell in love with the new sounds they were able to make using the same musicians and the diversity of the album. I loved that Mike now sings with Chester(my favourite part of the new direction)
@Rukis72 well glad youve said it in a mature way unlike so many of the other dicks who feel the same way. But yeah like you said its everyones opinion

why the hell did they add retarded effects to this documentary, the Making of Meteora and MTM was simple and better.

5:36 with the piano and harmonica being played sounds just like some of Nancy Wilson's score from Elizabethtown :)
