  • where is he now anyway? I haven't heard anything from him

  • Comment removed

  • u have to show more than just freestyle

  • when you're 16 yrs old playing for a u20 national team u know you're a beast

  • Just another "prodigy" that isn't guaranteed to do anything.

  • @Ginga hahahah funny

  • @Ginga you ever seen him play? he is the best american prospect in soccer right now. hes amazing. us olympic bound!

  • @nationeagle31

What about what I said isn't true. Being a great prospect doesn't mean he's guaranteed to do anything.

  • this people treat their players like machines

  • believe me, Charles Renken, the kid in the video, is really great at soccer. he is 15 in the video.

  • In the United States have great players, as this boy seems to be video, but it needs to stop doing a lot of bells and whistles, just spoiling it .. have to do when the time is right in a game, beautiful football and that playing is right and goal, not those that are free!

    Bruno Braz, from Brazil

  • atleast usa professional about it when they lose mexico they blame others and they say it refs fault typically mexicos mentallity excuses ya they beat us in mexico nobody wins mexico it hostile but when they play in usa again not with r b team but with r a team they will be shittin bricks

  • ive been at the residency team those fuckers are strict nike only..lmao i took adidas shoes they got mad and were gunna throe them away..lOL

  • @metango100 of course if ussoccer federation is gettin money from them they will make their player use their outfit

  • Has he recovered fully from his knee injury? Would have been a treat to see him at the U-17 world cup.

  • zambian pride ;)

  • He is the ultimate savior of american soccer, the prophecy was right. Now he is at Hoffenheim

  • i played in college with his brother and charles came out to one of the games, he's really a great kid.. really humble i wish him all the best, what a talent he is

  • very talented... at juggling... i want to see him on the pitch

  • because we "americans" concentrate on results now, versus the future

  • one HUGE problem about U.S. soccer is that they are all about STRENGTH they focus less on technique so they have many athletic directors and that is a HUGE problem, because when the U.S. plays other teams with smaller players they get beaten because the smaller players just train with the ball and run thats what makes the difference and here in teh U.S. you cant even show ur technique. you start to dribble past a player then the coach yells at u PASS PASS!!! they have no idea their so far back.

  • can you tell me where is he playing?

  • @petexx22 in germany. hoffenheim

  • US loses from everyone not only smaller teams

  • oh man i agree US U-17 Residency chased away Joseph Claude Gyau(winger) who is in trainning with Chelsea/Bayern Munich/Stuggart/Manchester United and a few other teams and Arjona Jr(RB)................two of the most gifted kids with the ball at their feet for players who are bigger and stronger(robots) and who will out-physical the other competetion at this level but in the end never become great pro's.

  • The whole point of the game is to pass.

  • There are 10 year-olds in Brazil and Portugal who have just as much, if not more skill than him.

Also, this brings up a problem with US Soccer. In so many European countries, footballing talent like this kid are allowed to develop their talent by just playing, whether it be in the streets of Janeiro or by playing at local academies.

Here in the US, talents are snatched up, undergone a utilitarian lifestyle being dictated by coaches and athletic trainers.

    Football isn't all about athletics

  • LOL, you're an idiot. I've lived in Brasil for over a decade and this kid is without a doubt a top talent, 10yr olds with as much or more talent? really, have you even seen him play in a real game.

But don't let me get in the way of your anti us soccer bias, carry on.

  • I'm not saying he is rubbish for God's sake, calm your bitchy ass down. I'm sure he'll go pro, but really? Ever heard of Freddy Adu? Just as good, if not better than this kid and look where he is now. Wasn't anywhere near succesful in the MLS, failure in Sporting (or is it Porto?) and now he isn't getting any playing time at Monaco. And didn't Inter Milan and Chelsea try to sign him when he was 16? I guess we'll see if this Renken kid will turn out to be a star moron

  • Freddy Adu Failure????? Freddy Adu is only 19 years old.... Freddy Adu had the highest goal-scoring rate on Benfica last year when he was still only 18 years old. He got loaned out for more playing time to Monaco but the coach did not like Freddy so their was a big grudge, thus why no playing time. Freddy Adu is coming back to Benfica during the summer. Freddy Adu during the olympics last year dominated Drenthe who is a Real Madrid wonderstar, so please know your facts about Freddy Adu.

  • he made 11 appearances for benefica and scored 2 goals. I dont get your point about how he has the highest goal-scoring ratio, so ill let you figure out that one. Drenthe? Are you honestly saying that Freddy Adu is better than Royston Drenthe? Well better tell Florentino Perez to sign Freddy on immediately! Haa

  • But he was givin playing time in the cup(3 goals)and was one of Benfica best and most exciting players when he was on the pitch to the point where Benfica fans were cheering his name when he was just warming up.And yes i think Adu is/or has more potential than Drenthe, if you watched that Olympic game, Freddy Adu controlling that game like Zidan and Drenthe while good, was no where near Adu's skill and creativity level. It only shows Americans have to work 3x as hard to earn respect in Europe.

  • We all know that he's gonna go pro in a year or two, transfer to a foreign league, then die out, returning to the MLS to revive his forgotten name, play mediocrely, have some stints with big name clubs, get rejected, and come back to the MLS

  • lo mismo decían de adu, y ese wey es malisimo ahora

  • le esta pasando lo mismo de giovanni nbo lo ponen a jugar

  • ghanaRhea

  • ;) we the best

  • love the guy. amazing talent and sooo powerful! hope to see him at united soon :D

  • Kid is 14, amazing

  • r they the pink boots?the new ones?

  • tiye tiye mwana wesu zambia na nsansa

  • Yah he looks like a good player.Only time will tell. But with the hype around him i hope he does not forsake his place of birth.

  • Yeah this kid is already drawing attention overseas, I hope that he continues to train hard.

  • He is going to be a big part of the U.S. national team in the future.

  • Not too sure about that, if my clients in Europe snap him up its most likely he might choose a European Country, But If MLS snap him up he might choose the USA, but for Christ's sake hope he chooses Zambia.

  • Let's be realistic, he will obviously play for the team most likely to succeed, USA is top of region right now, and if he plays for us by the time the World Cup comes around, he will be the next big star!, Zambia only dreams about what USA has achieved

  • you are right

  • Vitu and Lightniging, what are you talking about? Do you even know this kids story? He loves and respects Zambia, but he also loves the USA, and says that he wants to give back to the country that has given him so much. He had siblings die in Zambia, and was able to be adopted by some folks in the USA, along with his brother. His adoptive parents bought a phone for his mother so Charles can call her often. His heart is in both, but he wants to play for the USA, and for sure not a euro country.

  • wow what agreat kid

  • he looks like a good player and has got some good skills
