This is embarrassing coming from a Juilliard graduate. Just goes to show its just a fucking name and a reputation. This is rubbish. Edit the notes, the F is wrong
@TheBMXlove So how is it embarrassing if it's just a name and a reputation? Would it be embarrassing if it was from community college graduate? You sound so bitter. Spell bitter in solfege.
30 is still E but underneath it says F. Although the pitch is still the same. If you know how to read music you would catch this. And well I say "Ti" instead of "Si."
thanks! I can now sight read after watching this about twice! I'm so glad I didn't have to suffer through another vocal teacher attempting to explain it to me in their confusing method!!!
I have my grade 5 singing in a couple of weeks and really struggle with sightsinging do you have any exercises available or tips which could help me, I am 12 and do not play a musical instrument.
musical perfect pitch has 2 aspects: absolute pitch, where you can recongnize any sound by its pitch/frequency & relative pitch, the ability to recognize intervals & chords, based on the relative relationship between the 2 or more notes. David Livianu
@TheScreamingRetard you might should check out David Lucas Burge Perfect Pitch course... I bought and i haven't really used it, but it seems like you might be starting off with an advantage

Actually there is a mistake. It's not the note that's wrong, but the name below it. It should be E but he wrote F. I haven't read all the comments so I don't know if you saw that already, but I thought I should let you know :)
@pmcmusik Not EVERYONE in the world uses Ti. There are other countries that use Si. Just because it's DIFFERENT than how you learned it doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong.
@anndesign1 - You said this to another poster "in some countries SI is used instead of TI, that's not big deal is it?" -- I just wanted to comment and say thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering if that was a typo or not.
si?

If You Are Tone Deaf
Will Watching These Exercises And Singing Along To Match The Note Help You?

if it is not a medical problem, then yes, you can train you ear to hear & understand sounds, intervals, & chords...Good luck! David Livianu

@lisaluvsrob Burge is a scam artist. He teaches relative pitch and calls it learning "perfect pitch."

Isn't there a way to correct that mistake (with the E/F notes) ?
trfonline 2 years ago
These are 'relative' notes.
This is the origin of partitures.
They teach it on my school this way. It's actually a pretty easy way when you get used to it.
Gives new perspective on composition.
No one ever had a problem with reading or playing my partitures.
It's actually also used a lot to teach music to children.
Cheers.

There's a mistake with the absolute pitch in bar 5 of the 2nd excercise: the note is E and not F. It's 30 seconds into the video.
blogdoex 2 years ago 21
I see it now. The mistake is in the letter F typed
below the solfege MI and not in the pitch itself. tks

@blogdoex There are no mistakes. I played piano and sang along with the exercise myself.
