  • if it wasnt real it would have said "All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental." obviously most of you havent watched the movie all the way through

  • This is better than the American trailer.

  • does anyone know where i can get the offical or bottleg dvd at

  • i like it

  • I think this is the final frontier for f*cked up shit. Honestly, if you can find something any creepier than this movie, I'd like to know. (But then again probably I wouldn't.)

  • This film was truly a creepy and disturbing film, but really worth a watch.

  • 0:50

That scene was not in the movie, was it ?

  • @oilandblood1 iThot the same thing. iDunt think it was

  • any 1 know where I can find this movie?

  • It'll be release around October.

  • did u ever find out where to ge the movie from

  • real or fake who cares.. this movie is prob gonna be alot better then most of the crappy horror movies that are coming out

  • where is this movie?

did it already come out cause

i read it did in 2007 but when i tried

to find it it didnt say it came out till 2009

wtf? i want to see ti!

  • i doubt this movie will come out in theaters, u can download it form torrent sites (mininova) its very good quality like dvd 1.6gb, but my god , this movie was so bad, judge urself

  • It constantly amazes me how gullible people are. If a real "house of horrors" like this had actually been discovered -- with *800* video tapes of murder victims, it would have been the lead story on every network news station in the whole frigging world. Was it? Anyone remember that? No. Why? Because it never happened.

And if it did happen and the killer was still at large, the tapes would be evidence in an active case and wouldn't be released to the public.

This is a work of fiction!

  • September 2001, any other special significant events come to mind?

These arent the authentic tapes they are acted ones based on the real tapes, using the real tapes would be an infringement of the law

  • Where does this supposed imitation end and complete fiction begin since they aren't simply re-enacting (according to you) but actually meet and talk with the woman who was held captive.

Except (according to you) this is an actress.

Did they really meet with her or didn't they? Did she really kill herself or didn't she?

Or was that all just made up?

In a Q & A the directors discussed their plans for this to be part of a trilogy.

Kind of tough unless it's all made up.

  • It isnt 100% fake it is based on a guy but even so 800 tapes dont mean 800 dead people.. it obviously means 800 videos related.. there are several housr meaning 5-10 tapes alone of agirl playing with balloons apparently on it so yeah, do research before commenting ^^

  • There was a real serial killer in the Poughkeepsie area, but that killer didn't keep anyone captive for months and *didn't* shoot any video tapes.

There aren't any "real" video tapes. There was no "real" killer corresponding to the one in this movie. He wasn't "killed" He never lived. It's a pseudo-documentary like The Blair Witch Project. It's a work of fiction. Look it up on Wikipedia. Look it up on the Internet Movie Data Base.

Where did you do your research?

  • Lol the director himself said the idea is fake but its based off some black guy who killed hookers/whores/whatever you wanna call them

  • they killed him in 2003

  • @prodprod the killer DIED stupid when they found his body some of his joints were backwards thats how he could crawl like that =P

  • @prodprod you clearly didnt live in poughkeepsie this guy is real my dear he killed these women the tape were leaked years after the police used them i did hit news networks at least in my area asss

  • @prodprod well by now those murders are not that fictional

  • @prodprod

actually, this is based on a real story.

  • @jin54363 "Actually" it's based on a real story the same way that Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are based on "real stories" - that is - they're really not. It's a "real story" only to the microscopic extent that there was a serial killer at one time in Poughkeepsie. Period. That's it. That's the full extent of it's connection to reality. He didn't video tape his killings. He didn't stalk and tape his victims. He didn't kidnap a girl and keep her hostage. None of that is true.

    It's fiction.

  • @prodprod It's amazing how in denial you are.

  • @masonentreri What exactly am I denying? What parts of this make-believe documentary correspond to literal fact -- and if you're going to claim it, please direct me to something credible, like some published source material, not just something *you're* making up or heard about or remember.

If I see if, then I'll believe it. Otherwise, the evidence I have convinces me that that this is simply a work of fiction dressed up like a documentary like any number of other such pseudo-documentaries.

  • it isnt real; do you think that the familys victims would allow those tapes to come out in a movie?

    its sick.

anyways, anyone knows where i can watch it online? please send me an email or something, im dying to watch it

  • They aren't the real videos, they're reenactments, apparently.

  • ya and its fukin true ppl say it aint cuz of wikipedia and dats cuz in wikipedia ppl pst watever shit dey want and they didnt come out in public beacuase so many ppl live in this fukin town and no one wod ever come there or stay there or go to their college

  • fuck this i live in poughkeepsie.

  • so, is it real or not, i think its real, but the movie is getting inspiration of what really happen, i kinda heard about this on the news once.

  • no it was real

  • Kendall Francois is real- he killed prostitutes in Poughkeepsie and the surrounding area.

This film, according to the director, is a combination of several different serial killers.

  • yea its fucking real i live rite down the road from it that fucking bastard is nutz mad hookers where found in the walls and the guy was living there

  • Kendall Francois, june 12 1998. I think thats the guy he is talking about.

  • the shit is real cause the directer wants to show u that theres is a lot of crazy mothafuckas out there

  • Kay.

The whole Poughkeepsie tapes thing is real. There WERE 800 tapes found in Poughkeepsie, New York but not from just one serial killer. What the director of this movie did was put some of them together and make a FICTIONAL serial killer who taped all of them. But it's just a movie, and a really good one too. Quite interesting, but fucking creepy.

Rumors are that it comes out this year around February.

  • There wasn't a serial killer in Pougkeepsie who video taped his killings! This movie was based off of different killings, but the whole story is FICTIONAL

  • for anyone who cares this is only based off of the killings, the videos in the movie are fake....recreations but fake

  • What the fuck! is that "thing" walking on all fours with the weird Face/mask???

    Is that him?

  • Yup

  • yeah, thats him.

    freaky, huh?

  • uh-huh.

theres another clip on youtube that shows him doing that weird crawly thing to a victim

  • @mrMasonle ...sadly...yes..

  • @mrMasonle Yes, that was him. Anytime he was in in the shot, he wore the mask

  • @mrMasonle thats him....its creepy

  • @mrMasonle yes

  • @mrMasonle that things used to be human

  • @mrMasonle yeah its him.. its fucking creepy lol

  • Totally different than the original. Thanks! Now I see more footage!

  • He was angered when the little girl said No. FINISH HER!

  • why would some1 even make a movie out of this?

  • It might be a little creepy but I guess some people have an obsession with this type of thing.

I'm actually obsessed with horror movies right now (hence how i found this), and I find people's takes on scary subjects very interesting

  • i am SO seeing this!!! my mom's not going to let me but I DON'T CARE!! i don't want to see it, i HAVE to see it!!

  • even if it was real footage they wouldn't be allowed to show it... right?

  • Hey, documentaries do it all the time...Don't assume any thing.

  • You're absolutely right...why didn't they release that footage they found in Maryland a few years back? And it made its way into the theatres.

Oh wait...that's the Blair Witch Project!

BTW, it might interest you guys to know that: a) the director himself calls this a "faux documentary"; b) his inspiration was when he was mugged in NYC; and c) For those who claim the Poughkeepsie police found 800 tapes from various killers- how does that make sense? A Poughkeepsie video club? C'mon!

  • This is waaaay creepier than the original trailer

  • I agree...its more vivid and disturbing.
