  • Muy buen amplificador tengo este y un fender champion 600

  • Does it have a foot switch for turning the effects on and off?

  • TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBEEEEEEE

  • TENACIOUS D!!! hell Yeah!!!

The KGP (the Kyle Gaß projekt) lolz

  • is thier a effect where u can make your guitar whale(cry) cuz i need a amp that can do that for some of the songs that i play.

  • i dont get it

why is it with the superchamp that you need a button for the voices and not with the amp?

    is voice 1 all tube?

cuz with the superchamp the channel without any voice is all tube.

    im confused :(

  • Is it possible that i play for example the Metallica Sound or something like this??

  • @XxSlipKnoTxX777 Anything from Master of Puppets to Free Bird.

  • i love your movies.

  • nice for a 5 watt amp...being all tube helps it alot

  • not a Hybrid true tube amp.

  • 200 bucks. yep.

  • thanks for the demo. This kind of exposure to the various sounds is really valuable for making an amp purchase decision. Playing it in person is the best way to go, but this allows you to go into the music shop with some idea of what to pester the clerks for to set up for you to check out (and they really don't like you playing every single one to see which one you like.). good work.

  • watts?

  • is it a solid state combo amp or a tube combo amp?

  • @ges335ch HYBRID!

  • I love the sound of this amp, along with other small combo amps. I just don't know what I would do when I needed to change the tubes. I live in a small city and there is no real good guitar store that could change them for me or anything. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • @frodobaggins2012 online stores?

  • @frodobaggins2012 Change them yourself...its not hard at all

  • @frodobaggins2012 Tubes are a no brainer on my mesa single rec, I'm sure they're easy on this amp as well. They are like screwing in a lightbulb, except easier cause you just plug them in

  • Channel #4 is my favorite for clean sound. Love this amp! Great at home and even on stage for beginners.

  • Brilliant practice amp. Love the classic Champ sound (#1) and the Bassman (#4).

  • QUESTION ?? So this has no clean channel what does that mean ?

and if u dont want effects do u need to have a clean channel ?

please someone help me i'm trying to get a amp monday ? i have a fender telecaster 62 reissue but i'm a begginer thanx

  • @7thvenom you're kidding right?

  • @aigmeyer NO BRO THATS WHY I ASKED !!! LOL WHY WOULD I BE KIDDING !!

  • @7thvenom no, beginner with a telecaster 62 reissue

  • @aigmeyer YES !! I BOUGHT A BLACK WITH ROSEWOOD FRETBOARD WHITE BINDING !!!

    AND I ONLY KNOW 3 CHORDS !!! A REAL BEGINNER !!!

  • Fender specs states that overdrive and distortion are SS (solid state). There's a 12AX7 valve in preamp It's all-tube or not??

  • You yanks dont realize how lucky you are ! That amps at least £250 Sterling over here ! Shit...! Even British brands are cheaper in the USA and Europe etc !

  • @auto4union I just bought one new in NYC for $99. FTW! This thing sings!

  • @Beermaker2000 Thats excactly what i`m talking about ! $99 is like £60 or less ! Well done for having got such a good deal though ! Hope you get loads of years of fun playing Maybe having to pay extra for our gear is the part of the reason that easily 85% of the greatest bands of all time come from the UK ! BTW! Just redicovered Siousxie and the Banshees the other day 4got how great they were! Check out "Spellbound" Live in Cologne `81 !John Mcgoch on Guitar !Awesome!Peace Ye`All from Scotland !

  • hey does anyone know if this is the same thing as the superchamp xd, only a lower wattage?

  • @tuboflard3000 yeah, exactly that. i have it and I really like it. and it gets pretty loud too. especially in a big auditorium. and it stills sounds good in small spaces

  • @tuboflard3000 The SC has two channels, one that bypasses the digital voiceings, and the other one is like the VC.

  • this or champion 600?

  • that's a real nice demo! Im considering this to my 13 year old daughter, I already have a super champ xd and would like to have another one but cheaper. I'm not so fond of the distorted voices though, most of them seem to produce various degrees of buzzing.

  • should i sell my marshall mg15dfx and get this amp? i use a line 6 pod with my amp which sounds like shit on its own, and i want a nice sounding tube amp to go with my pod, that is small enough for practice

  • @etsen3 IMHO Mg's suck badly. No comparisong between a tube amp and a shitty solid state like mg's. Thats my personal point of view. Just sold my mg30 after ive tried every possible way to get a decent sound out of it. Going for a proper tube amp right now.

  • haha everytime i watch one of your great videos i think you´re the killer from "high tension" for some reason, don´t know haha

  • What's the intro song title?

  • Comment removed

  • @jeTTa002

Don't know the song title, but it's from a band called Bodeco.

  • is it me or is the strat a little outta tune? lol I like the amp though! really cool.

  • Hi, I'm looking for a small tube amplifier just in my bedroom mostly for blues/classic rock. Which one do you suggest: the Fender Champion 600 or the Vobro-Champ XD? Thanks for the help.

  • @Tomcsek84

It depends on what you want. Fender Champ 600 only has a low and high gain input, no effects, but it $50 cheaper than the vibro champ. The 600 is prized mostly for its simplicity. The vibro champ has effects and voices, but is $200. Both have a 5 watt output. I would personally recommend the vibro champ.

  • do all the fx work with all the voices

  • @MrGodam29 yes

  • @MrGodam29 yes i have this litte bitchy amp and it's sound hell amazing :D

  • XD

  • Do the effects work with the different amp models or just clean?

  • you should review the super champ xd its pretty good.

  • What tubes does it have?

  • @dieandgoaway a 12ax7 and a 6v6 i think

  • @wiisaluteyou actually they are :D

  • Jack Black, I love your demos.

  • @fuckingfuckdude Best user name on YT.

  • Should I get this amp is this loud enough for gigs? Can I play metal with this? Please answer back.

  • @dieandgoaway You can play metal with anything, I mean from a basic perspective -- just find a high gain voice and go to town. I've used this amp and would not consider it loud enough for practicing with a drummer, however live, mic'd, it'd be great.

  • @dieandgoaway Its not that loud and has, in my opinion, not enought gain built in for metal. So only if youre going to use distortion pedals and even then the volume is borderline loud enough.

  • Thanks for the reply ! Yes , I am into Chicago Blues , Santana , Clapton . I also like the Beatles , James Taylor , John Mayor . I'm just looking for what you think would be the best for me . I'm not sure if the Vox 4W Head with a 12" Cab will be able to handle my pedals . They are all Boss , A "C/S3 , BD2 , CE5 , Boss FRV-1 and a DD-3" . What do you think ? Thanks again for the reply . Jerry AKA HUTCHfromBA

  • I love and want Great tube tones but I have a real problem . I live in a attached house with many close neighbors . I desire a tube amp with good tone when it's played at very low volumes . Money is less of an issue . Any sugestions other than moving ? Thxs , Jerry .

  • @hutchfromba what style of music are you looking to play? from looking at your channel it seems you're into blues... I would say the vox ac4tv would be a great choice. I could list some other low watt tube amps if you want more choice

  • @hutchfromba

I'd definitely suggest a Blackstar HT-1R, 1 watt valve combo. Sounds really good at low volume, 2 channels and the clean channel breaks up really nicely as the gain is brought in. It's loud enough for practice but will not blow your head off (or piss off the neighbours)

  • Jack Black, whatcha' doing on YouTube?!

  • hey can somebody tell me how hard I can push this amp on the gain and volume settings, I was told not to go too loud because of the risk of blowing the speaker but in the demo i saw the gain on 7 with volume on 6

  • This amp sounds great!

  • @marc1kim lol for how you play it is the best!!

  • Gain 7

    Voice 4

    treble 10

    bass 8

    f/x 7

    f/x first reverb

the amp sounds great with those exact settings

  • Voice 15 is the most interesting for Jazzy sounds imo

Is this amp a full tube amp?

  • Voice 15 is the most interesting for Jazzy sounds imoIs this amp a full tube amp?

  • Jack, what do think...

I can ONLY afford one amp under $300. In your opinion what is the best / better sounding tube amp clean tone wise to get?

Does the Champ 600 sound better?

I'm a recording artist so would be ONLY using the amp to record with a mic in front of it / inside a baffle soundproof case, anyways.

Tone quality onto tape is imperative.

  • Sounds like Jack Black lol

  • Nice review GMD. After spending quite a bit of time in a music shop with one of my guitars.........a Tom Anderson Classic with M pickups. The victims of my comparison were the Vox AC-4TV, VHT Special 6, Marshall 5 & the Vibro Champ XD. All the of the amps had their charm but I was most impressed with the Vibro Champ due to its versitility. All the amp voicings are very useable. The built in digital effects are a huge plus. I have now found the perfect practice amp. Guitar > Chord > Amp!

  • i just bought it...awesome..your demo sold it!!!

  • @tripfall224 Do you have to play with a lot of volume to get a good sound?

  • awesome demo...thanks so much for that...i am so impressed with that amp!!!!

  • better than the Blues Junior III?

    I'm getting convinced!

  • This is a great tube amp. There was a fender delux $699... and it sounded like all it needed was a 12 in. speaker and it would sound "exactly" the same. It's ALL tube sound "bigtime". If your sitting in front of a solid state amp for hours it's not good for you. It's not about Solid State vs. Tube amps. Solid state amps are not good for you and your ears. I fucking love this amp it is a tube sound on "steroids", really!

  • I got a super champ xd two days ago, which is pretty much the same, just 15 watts, bigger speaker, and two channels- got it used for the price of a vibro champ. I like it, but I find almost all the gain (with a couple exceptions) to be largely unusable. Also, the delay is limited and kind of boring, while the tremolo sounds bad. Chorus and reverb both sound pretty good. The clean tones really do sound great, and the light drive on the bassman setting is nice.

  • it's actually jack black

  • @jibbajabbajojan i dont know wether to belive you or not... XD

  • 0:35 ... what kind of candybar is that....

  • Can effects pedals be used on the clean channel of this amp?

  • Is it me or does this vibro champ sound better than the super champ xd....seems to be something about this one...

  • @stevoe1000 yes, it does to me also. I had a Vibro Champ XD, thought it was great, so I sold it and bought the Super Champ XD. It wasn't as nice sounding, but alot louder. I think it is the single ended output stage. They have the same effects and amp models, and the Super just has one clean channel, and then one modeling channel. I like the ability of the Super to channel switch and effects switch with the footswitch, or I would have went back to the Vibro.

  • @bhxxbtx Thanks....the super does still sound good but too loud for my apartment :)

  • Hey GMD do you know if this and the super champ are basically the same but with a larger speaker...or are there other differences apart from the wattage

  • sounds quite amazing, I think it's good what they're doing with emulating the tube amps...but ...well I don't know....

  • If it had a headset out for late night it'd be near perfect!

  • @RickenVoxster There's a line out on the back of it :)

With a normal Jack-minijack-adaptor, you can just plug in you headset :)

An adaptor is like 5 bucks or something, so that's really nothing :)

  • @trolden9520 Cool! I was looking at one of the Weber Amplification headset/line out adaptors for some of my amps for late night playing. I gather that this Champ line out is also meant for external speaker cabinet use and will mute the Champs internal speaker when in use?

  • coulda sworn that was jack black talking at first.

  • Fender Vibro Champ XD... XD

  • hey german dude...is there a line out on that amp?

  • You could make any guitar with a Bullet coily cable plugged into a turd sound good.

Great vids...love them & they've helped me find some great pedals. Just picked up a silverface Vibro-Champ which led me to this video.

  • Can this make, say, a fender starcaster sound good? I really need a new amp, but I don't want to waste my money for my guitar to sound the same...

  • @hiphopsucks96 I play a Fender Stratocastor (MIM Players 60s strat) into the larger Super Champ XD and I am very impressed indeed. I originally tried out the Vibro Champ in a shop and was fairly convinced I had to buy it until I discovered there was a larger model with 2 channels, 3 valves and 10" speaker.

The VIbro Champ is a very good amp, none the less.

  • I own this one. Its a great little amp, lets me torture my wife with my shitty guitar playing real good. She's kind of a bitch though so it's ok. Anyway, great amp.

  • @197669666 Awesome, man. Real cool.

  • @197669666 can i know your wife?? just joking :D

  • jack black?!?!?!

  • I only heard half the video to know that I want it.

  • is 5W enough for gigging? I mean overall the amp

  • @letterbekmen It really depends on the situation. It wouldn't be enough to be used without a PA in a typical rock setting - but mic'd up with a full PA, anything is potentially loud enough.

Also consider that you need 10 times as many W to get twice as many dB.

  • I have a cheap 'lil Roland 15x, and i know the tone on this is far superior, but volume wise, how loud can you go, especially on the clean channel, with out getting extra distortion just from clipping. Compared to mine that is, because two thirds the way up on volume, and i'm already clipping! its awful I tell you!

  • is this a 100% tube amp or is it s modelling amp?

  • @gaycake It's both, but who cares? The only things you should be interested in are the sound, cost, and reliability, all of which are superb.

  • Hey dude, how much it cost?

how many watts does it have?

    Great demo!!!

  • @mapordos 5 watts (plenty loud) Pretty much everyone has it for $200

  • Is this good enough for performing?

  • I picked up my Fender VCXD at AMS a couple of months ago for $179.00 ( the price of shipping was free ). Good deal. Great amp. Dropped a Weber ALNiCo 8" Signature Series speaker in her, sounds sweet.

  • jack black is that you?

  • can this be turned down to play at low bedroom volume and still sound good?

  • @racerfreed

well if you want such an amp you could buy the fender but there is vox i think it's the AC4 or something like that there you can switch from 1 to 5 watts! of course it has tubes :-)

go to your local guitar dealer and test the two amps and take the one you prefer :-)

  • I'm deciding on a new amp between

this, a peavey vypyr 30, or a Vox Valvetronix VT15.

I'm actually going to try to play a small gig with it though since I'm really broke and can't spend more than 200 bucks without breaking the bank.

  • @ZomgGuitarz1234 don't buy the peavey vypyr it sucks big time. INstead im bying the fender vibro champ XD and hooking it up to a Vox cab.

  • go for the super champ if you can. big difference

  • You sound exactly like Jack Black. I like it.

  • Super Champ vs. Vibro Champ?

  • no reason to max out the bass like that, just muddys it up

  • does it matter what guitar you use for it? i mean will the sound be effected with lets say a Washburn vs. a Fender? i want this amp and i just got a washburn

  • @kdavis0660 you'll be fine. it will sound alittle different cause the guitar is different, but the amp will still work the same

  • This amp is great. I own one. ;-)

  • hmm...sound too good, it might be youtube

  • I have one its got some magic >i tried the super champ xd thinking it was going to be better but it lacked the mojo the smaller vibro has for some reason

  • The same thing happend to me. People with the Super are all hyped about mods and trying other speakers. The Vibro Champ puts out great tones as is. I love mine.

  • just got one of these the other day because of this review. this amp is a steal at 200 bucks

  • I'm definitely buying it...great review!

  • @locohellraiser

    Metal head is pretty good.

  • @locohellraiser

In fact wtf you talking about you can get any tone out of a strat, thats the beauty of them...

  • @locohellraiser

Yeah that Yngwie Malmsteen is some farmer then.

  • he's just a old flowerpower dude

  • @locohellraiser

I'd like to think that you are trolling but after actually hearing your playing I've realized you know jack shit about music or guitars lol.

  • Well i had a listen...not my kind of music but yo sure as s**t can play and you're 16 !?

  • @locohellraiser that's horse$hit. Sure you can

  • @locohellraiser

    Two words: TOM. MORELLO.

  • six words: that are four words

  • that are fours words? lol, SOMEONE failed English.

  • iron maiden used strats

  • sounds like a 200 dollar amp.. at least no one is getting jipped.. I like the older champs w/o all the voicings

  • @locohellraiser well amps yeah.. fender's more mid-high sweet womans tone.. but you can use fender guitars for metal..

  • Thanks Jack, I'm thinking about getting one of these for my Rhodes.

  • Fender amps slay Marshalls. There, I said it.

    Marshalls are overrated.

    What's your opinion, Jack Black?

  • @Polyfusia Dude,.. they are both really good amps. I think they both offer options for getting economy or high class amps.. for different styles of playing. But for my dollar, and I like blues and classic rock more,.. so I think fender is a better deal.. But they both make awesome amps.

  • I owned this amp I had to get rid of it cause I needed money, but it was and is one of my favorite practice amps, I even used it live once I just mic'ed it, its an awesome little amp, I might get another one soon hopefully.

  • Thanks Jack black for the demo.

  • So its not a pure tube amp? I am trying to understand tube amp design but there is not alot of people that can explain it to me yet. Are any of these little "tube" amps actually pure tube? Is the little VOx or BlackHeart lines tube? I think I can hear the warmth when listening to tube amps but people have become so religious about tube vs. solidstate I have to wonder how much is perceived versus actual. Yeah, chase that can of worms across the floor a while.....

  • This is a simple class A amplifier with one 12ax7 and one 6V6. The 12ax7 is used for a pre-amp circuit, not a phase inverter. None is require in class A as there is no push pull going on. Having said that it sounds like alot of solid state stuff built into the circuit. Not my cup of tea.

  • I agree with you on the 12ax7 not being used as a phase inverter. I don't know why some people on forums are saying it's a PI tube when this amp is class A.

  • Damn Fender should just name this amp 'Toney'...Tone Tone and more tone! Impressive...TY Gearman! Another great vid..

  • I'm not sure what he's doing now. Seems like he's doing an intro as usual, and then editing in the actual demo, but the voice isnt so good. The amp sound is much better than early demos. If the small problem with the voice mic was handled the awesomness would be 100%. Right now it's maybe at 85%

  • sounds great, being in the same room how would you compare it to a blues junior or pro junior? does it take pedals well? thanks man!

  • i can smell and taste it!!

  • @patch9894 there are plenty of Tube modeling amps out there...

  • i like vox'z modeling ones beter as for hyprid modeling amps go

  • Oh man I have been thinking about picking one of these babys up!

  • I've used Fender amps and guitars exclusively for years now. Pretty impressive amp for the price!

  • Oh come on give him a bloody break!!! Gearmandude puts out some of the best pedal/gear demos on the whole internet, no wireless lapel mic needed! A little bleed or even a lot of bleed never killed anybody, its bloody you tube for goodness sakes!! his videos a far superior to pretty much everyone. Only pro guitar shop produces demos that are as high caliber/entertaining/informative.... A lapel mic? amp in the other room? Editing out his voice???? :U???????

  • Hey man, I wasnt knocking him. The videos are invaluable. However, the sound on the earlier ones was not so good. He's made some improvements. I'm just suggesting how he could increase the level of awesomeness to a new realm. A new realm of awesomeness.

It doesnt take much to run the voice mic through a little mixer and slide the volume down when youre not talking so you dont get the room sound like most demos on youtube.

  • I'm genuinely surprised by how good this thing sounds.
