  • This is a great song! The only book I took with me when I left Tehran in 1978 was "Shams e Tabrizi" and I still treasure it. we should be proud of being persian with such a rich culture.

  • is this a religious song? I dont understand all the words, but they dont seem religious :s or do they...?

I would be happy if someone would answer this...and I would be even more happy if u would say that this is NOT a religious song, because I really like this song :)

  • Its Rumi, therefore its Spiritual, not religious! So u can keep enjoying :)

  • @nashenas786 yes but my friend, Molana was Sufi, and his poetry is the Qur'an in the Persian tongue. Molana was student of Attar and Sanai.

  • @iiNDiTC Yes he was. I agree with you. He was born in Balkh Afghanistan. I have alot of relatives who are Sufis as well. My family is well versed with Mawlana. My grandma was born in his city.

  • no dear friend it is not a religious song, this song is with the poem of Molana, singer is the most famous one in iranian music history, Maestro Shajarian.the poem is so mystic, i hope you know Molana, or the Rumi, as they call him in West.

  • @someleili

This is a poem of Molavi (Rumi) about Shams. Shams was his mystical and spiritual guide and coach. It's not religious but a description of the spiritual beauty of Shams that has made Molavi crazy and astonished.
