@blkmanrule Dellums was a terrible mayor no doubt but I agree with his attitude towards the PoliceDepartment. They refused to acknowledge him as the City's top adminstrator as well as prevented him from attending a slain cops funeral.Any politician who's willing to speak out against law enforcement's abusive treatment of minorities gets kudos from me. I bet you're one of those white liberals who's moved to Oakland after they couldnt afford the rent anymore in SF and the Peninsula.

@nfusionlabs the issue isn't about where when who or why, it isn't about race, it isn't about detroit or Oakland, it isn't whether or not he was a black, white or asian kid, or whether or not he was a criminal.....it is about the abuse of power by an authority! We are all criminals, it doesn't matter where you go, yes some areas are more violent than others, so we go to a ''peacefull neighbourhood/city'' where no one shoots or stabs or curses, or wear their pants under their hips, or rapes, or where there're no pedophiles, or theives, or corrupt politicians and cops, nor drunk drivers, redlight runners, or drug users, or incest, or bombs, fights,where crime is only 1% you still run the risk of being that 1%.

@AlanMolstad well to be honest and shall i say sadly, whether his actions was intentional or not, you're right the verdict might be just that! although i must admit mistakes are a part of the drill, but it's just hard to imagine that the cost of ones mistakes is the life of another. Then, the way it happened was like what you see in a mafia style killing on tv this is what really makes the issue so grafic and well, unacceptable. However its tough being black, but it's also tough fighting crime.

Also, I dont have a clue about Bay area politics but from some YouTube videos I have seen as of late I have learned the Mayor and other elected officals were working very, VERY hard to get more cops trained and hired!

I got to believe that everyone in leadership would have raise a stink over an idea that just as a guy starts to get good at working in the community as a cop he gets rotated out and some cop who doesnt know the community at all is dropped into it.

From my point of view: I have yet to see any proof that BART or the Mayor or anyone in the Bay Area law enforcement community was at fault in this case, except for the cop who shoots, and or perhaps a few other cops there at the time.

After the shooting I dont see any problems with the way the shooting has been handled by the system set up to review all cop shootings.

The shooting was reviewed, the results turned over to the DA, charges soon came and an arrest made.

@AlanMolstad I did! The DA after all the eyewitness accounts wouldn't even arrest the officer. It wasn't until the video was turned over to the media was a warrant Issued. About this video.
