yea this is what every audio shop tells me i need, but when i do some research on it people say the problems still come back after about a week, lots of cadillac owners say the radio has to stay in the car for the security system to see that its there....
@trailertrash20010 the other option is to run the factory harness to the rear and connect your stock radio. Then just run all new wires for the aftermarket system. Its a pain in the ass, but is what was done before the gmrc-03.
That's weird because I own a 98 Deville also and the GMRC-03 harness didn't work... it only shuts off my headunit half the time and the other half it either cuts the power to the headunit completely or nothing happens. Got it exchanged and the second one did the same. I ended up extending some wires from the factory harness and installed the factory deck above the right tire well.
not too shabby for stock alt and battery... got big 3 at least???? definitly look for a bigger battery if your on a tighter budget.. if not, get that alt and do a big 3..
Saw your vid that showed some fabrication of the FI18q enclosure u made... thats an insane amt of fiberglass, how much did u finish off?? I started a q18 fiberglass project a while back but it ended up staying in my basement while & now I'm gonna scrap it and put a 12 in so I have sound & precious trunk room. (not to mention spare tire access)
just finish it. you'll love the sub, i did. super amazed at the sound quality of such a large sub. not to mention glass projects can get very expensive. the entire inside of the enclosure was glassed on mine. plus the face where the sub was, all glass too.
im glassing, just a smaller one that fits tightly in the back of my trunk. Im thinking about putting together a build vid kind of like yours - slideshow with sound kind of deal
Not bad... some HDC315's would eat those subs for breakfast though. a single HDC315 on about 1500W rms snapped my mirror off and popped my trunk open one my ETC... switched over to an RE XXX-15 now running on a Memphis 4Kw with a pair of BatCap 2000's and a 300S alt...
