Dark Night of the Soul; What Happens After Mystical Union?

I had one spontaneous mystical Union when I was 16 - I was a devout institutional Catholic who had no knowledge or understanding of what I experienced. I had no one I could share this with. My adulthood evolved exactly as you described and soon after I entered into the dark night of my soul with all of the entrapments & pitfalls. It lasted for more than 30 years. I understand now my life's path has been perfect for my spiritual advancement & I learned to bless all the struggles and pain.

Thanks for this video--important reminders as I find myself in this Dark Night; however, finding the way through that Dark is a powerful way to learn. I do still have a small bit of irrational fear (all fear is irrational, really), but mostly it's impatience for the light to return...which it will.

I felt moved to listen to this video again as I need to remind myself that its natural to go through Dark Nights of the Soul, post illumination. I'm being made aware of parts of my character which are still very immature and its very painful. However I am acheiving acceptance and becoming willing to change and grow once more. These dark nights are something else! but I'm getting quicker at identifying them submitting to the process.

How did I respond to this video? I cried with joy. I don't have to analyze to verify truth, I recognise it instantly. This information is being conveyed by a true master. I intuitively feel that no one else has acheived such mastery and insight on this subject. This can only be coming from a spiritually awakened person.

I also stumbled frequently. Not stumbling seems to get easier with age. Living in a society with Kali Yuga (dark age) values can be a great challenge to a mystical spirit. If we can overcome these challenges, all the greater will be the victory.

You described me to the "T". The Great Friend provides me with a wonderful expierience, I am uplifted and charge forward on my path, only to stumble from it a short time later. Fortunatly, the Path will not let me go, and, as the years go by, I find myself stumbling from the Path less often, and for shorter periods of time.
