The interesting thing is: why is it so easy to claim a musician nasty and arrogant? Why did never anybody think about nasty and arrogant music managers behind the scenes? Or TV or radio producers? Haines is not the only one to write about things like that: so did Lemmy Kilmister, so did Tommy Lee, so did Ozzy, so did Keith Richards, etc.... Think about one fact not to be discussed: first there were the musicians making music, any image fall into place later, very often created by someone else!
absolutely brilliant version of an excellent song - brings back wonderful memories and makes you ask why they never got the appre3ciation they absolutely deserved.
Nasty and arrogant people in the music business?? Surely not... Actually, I think there were probably a few of those, but there's not many could write a song with the intelligence and wit of Luke Haines. ..
Yes, his songs are very clever, but you have to be able to work with other people, who's ideas may well be different to yours! He may have been the best musician in the world, but I think the main reason that they didn't get as big as they deserved to be was the fact that he was so incredibly arrogant, thinking he was better than everyone else, that prevented him from taking the advice that may pushed their fame to the higher grounds! He admits his arrogance himself!
Inimitably delicious music!! All hail Haines in this blistering performance!

He's doing a very good Ian Curtis impersonation here.

I'll have large fries with that please Haines.
His book is hilarious, his music is beyond shite. Maybe that fall when he broke his ankles was an opportunity wasted, what a loser.
