dont ever put your bottles in the oven to sterilise them!!! doing that may lead to shorter life for your glass at best and catastrophic failure and/or explosion plus or minus injury at worst. these vessels are not tempered to the same standards as Pyrex, so you should not rely on their integrity after sticking them in the fire. use dilute bleach, star san, iodophor or some other sanitizing solution.
this isnt for those people making thousands of gallons of wine to sell this is for people who just want a homemade batch of decent wine and can tweak the process to fit what they like. this is just an overview of the process to show you how it basically works.
Over the past 16 years, I've made over 2,000 of bottles of wine. So, I pop onto youtube to look for any new tips, tricks or technologies, and I stumble across this guy.
Buddy, I share your affection for what we do, but don't teach people to make wine ever again. This isn't even a good overview of the process. Towel covers, t-shirt filters, pouring between containers, incorrect terminology...Come on, man. These people are trying to learn something here and you're setting them up for failure.
oh wow - are your sure you haven't made 2 Billion? your name is Moet? isn't it?
Oh well simple typo I guess. By the way, where are your videos? - I hope they aren't commercially sensitive. but thanks for the criticism - I'll look out for your name on all the homemade websites out there... I mean come on this guy doesn't even use fish to filter the wine - fish are organic aren't they?
@9114steve the main issue is there are better ways to do these things now. that will add to your chances to make a good wine or beer thats what this is all about.
clean everything well
sanitize everything that touches you juice fruit or wine. it isnt cooked so you have to be careful.
use airlocks towels dont keep bacteria or mold spores out.
