its more of an irritating burn that you wanna rub, rather than a pain the only place in my experience that 'hurts' is your back especially on the spine. the WORST part about getting a tattoo is about 4 days later as it heals it itches like crazy but if you keep it moist it should be fine. enjoy it and wear it with pride.
