Our subtle aspects are held within the egoic, emotive and mental bodies. Each of these centres is the focal point for the various memorial forms that remain from our past experience. The ego is a lenticular structure that serves to focus the passage of psychic energy from the spirit to the physical plane. The personality is the expression of the person as it is colored by and filtered through those memorial residues.

We appear to be what we were but not what we are about to become.

  • Trompe l'oeil is an artistic method that the eye sees but the mind remembers what the image should look like so it replaces what you know (see) with what you think (remember).

This is obviously incorrect if somewhat comforting (for the ego!) but clearly demonstrates the situation.

Comparison is used by our internal referencing to situate our "feelings", once again by memory and so not exactly referring to the current moment.

Feeling emotion should not oblige us to be subjugated to another memory

  • The memory is an adjunct to our perception. It allows the intellect to provide comparative data to the ego.

Psychically, it is the repository of all of our signs and clues as to the path that we chose and the direction that we have taken.

Once we realize it's usefulness and take advantage of it's characteristics, we are no longer subject to it's restrictions and limitations.

The exchange frees us from our memorial fetters because it forces us to be in the moment. The only creative place to be

  • Very true, and inspirational! Keep it up.
