My take on the reason is that Kevin probably knew something embarassing/ a secret that this guy didnt want him or anyone to know about, thats why he never told the police exactly why he killed him, hed rather just say for no reason rather than the truth that he didn't want anyone to know...I'm only guessing but thats the only thing that could possibly make sense other than if he was psychotic

I think it's crazy to put someone like this in prison at the tax payers' expense and give them free everything just for being in prison. How many serial killers have received free college educations at the expense of tax payers? Some loses their job and they lost their health care, but someone like this is covered by tax payers. Unjust!

@DASRH the act of stabbing as a substitute for sex is only valid if the perpetrator of the crimes is impotent. It's far more likely that he killed them for some reason he'd made up himself; in fact, the intensity of his response when his girlfriend broke up with him or whatever suggests that he was heterosexual. And a psychopath.
