  • WHat Is the Best HDMI CABLE FOR THE PS3

  • Thank you for putting the time to put the video together.

  • I LOVE YOUU!!!! THANK YOU ! I WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD FIGURED IT OUT

  • I've got an Full hd tv with hdmi, the quality on the menu is perfect. but when i'm ingame it's awful! Do anyone know what's wrong??

  • @TheDaaale Not all games run at full HD. Most games still run at only 720p. So if you are trying to play a video game at the same quality as your menu, it might just be because the game isn't capable of that resolution.

You can easily tell by checking the back of your video game case. They usually display the resolution in the game statistics or somewhere near the bottom by the copyright.

Sorry I'm so late in replying, but I hope this helps :)

  • @ZakeirSnake Im playing MW2 and Blackops, It says 1080p but it wont use it in game. Maybe the PS3 is automatically changing it or maybe it's broke? :/

  • @TheDaaale Hm, this is quite a head scratcher. I searched around, but couldn't find any real differences between 1080p and full hd, so they are pretty similar in my opinion.

My best suggestion now is to call up the Sony hotline and see if they can't explain what's going on. Their number is:

    1-800-345-SONY

Let me know if you figure anything out :)

  • @ZakeirSnake the word HD is a mask for saying 720p or lower without really saying it. 1080p is crytsal clear sharp image with hardly any jaggies, you can tell the difference when playing

  • @TheDaaale black ops is 544p, it says supports 1080p on box, thats a marketting tool, supports basically means you can play it on a 1080p TV. the back of the box says you can play this game on a TV. what a joke

  • @ZakeirSnake I have the same problem and when i play black ops its terrible

  • i love you

  • wow thanks

  • thank you

  • doees it matter if there off

  • @xBENWASHEREx Does it matter if what is off?

  • @ZakeirSnake nvm

  • Thank you so much =)

  • PLZ HELP ME!!!!

DO U NEED A HD TV TO USE HDMI ON UR PS3???

    PLZ PLZ REPLY

  • @xXEpTicDreamZxX Yes. Yes you do. Otherwise, it wouldn't have the HDMI plugin now would it? ;)

  • actually the hdmi is only needed the other AV cords can be saved for something else like and xbox or wii etc

  • Ok is it really that hard to do? all you do is plug your hdmi were it says it, go to input on your tv choose hdmi 1 or 2 turn your ps3 on and set it up done.

  • Thank you =)

  • this was sooooooo helpfull!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much!!! I am subscribing just because of this, I've watched like 10 videos and all of them did not help one bit :D THANK YOU :D

  • god video but if i were you i would organize the wires i hate when my wires are a mess but a very helpful video

  • OMFG thank you so much i watched at least 50 other videos and yours was the only one that made a bit of sense hahahaha THANKS again..

  • omg thank u =]

  • Uh...do you need all those colorful cords plugged on the back of the TV (not the red, yellow and white one, the other ones that I don't know the name of) in order to make it work?

  • @Kamek20xxExtra You're refering to the HDMI cable. When hooking up the PS3 via HDMI cable, set the TV resolution to around 720p(depending on what HDTV you own), then fire up the PS3, go to Display Settings, choose Custom, click on 720p, and you're done.

  • @wii1245 Gosh, it took over 4 months for an answer, but thank you so much!

  • @Kamek20xxExtra YW. Glad I could help.

  • thanks alot it was a great help

  • Don't setup nothing! I have problem to get PS3 working on my LCD with a HDMI cable (black screen) and realise that the only thing I have to do was to change the LCD connection to HDMI instead the normal connection. DONE! So many days to discover this shit! OMFG!

  • Thanks...but it's not fullscreen and the top and bottom are cut off!!!

  • Thank you

  • you can connect the ps3 using only the hdmi cable , i don't have av cables :'/

  • so you have to have your av cords in when setting uo hd?

  • @qwerty121ist Let's just say that when setting up HD, you have to have some kind of output already set up for your PS3. Pretty much, you should be able to adjust the Display settings to anything as long as you can turn on your PS3 and it shows up on the screen. It doesn't have to be specifically AV cords, just as long as you have an HDMI cable, and can open the Display settings.

Sorry for being redundant ^^; Hope this helps.

  • @ZakeirSnake thanks so much got it workin hd followed enry step 1080p woo

  • @qwerty121ist Glad to hear :)

  • @Zman15136 Believe what you want, but I'm the only girl who will reply to such a vulgar and, not to mention, positively rude comment.

  • i want to like your balls! Thankyou, mine is zoomed out is that normal :D

  • @MrsSmigel Wait, what? I don't even-

  • Mine still isn't working. when i choose hdmi, the screen goes blank. I change from video 1 to hdmi 1 but no picture is displayed....is my hdmi cable broken?

  • @soccerisamazzin It could be a number of things. The blank screen could possibly indicate that you are not switching over fast enough, you cables are not plugged in to the correct slots, or, as you put it, the cable could be faulty.

I might try to find a different HDMI cable to compare, but if you are still not able to get it working, feel free to call the number I posted in the video for the SONY help line :)

  • thanks soo much

  • Hey thank you heaps for the vid it worked exactly the way you showed me, stupid hdmi setting on the remote control for the tv how would I ever have found that

  • That was extremely helpful. Thank You.

  • Jesus Christ... i have that same controller, same model of PS3, same tv, same remote, and same background..... i also have the surrounding set up stuff kinda similar... scared the crap out of me......

  • @Cheaterboy7070 Omg what are the odds O.O I swear, I don't know who you are lol

  • @ZakeirSnake Haha, ya i know u dont, but still thats wicked crazy. i was just tryin to figure out how i can switch my PS3 from HDMI to AV without seein and bam lol.

  • MINTAAAGGGEEE! .. Very helpful cheers =D, great vid!

  • It say for me that the input is not supported

  • @mato12052000 I'm afraid I have never had this error before, nor have I heard of it. I would like to suggest you contact the Sony hotline listed in my video. It's 1-800-345-SONY. They are only open around the afternoon I think, but they usually have lines open and ready to help you. If anyone has an answer, they do, as they are sure to get several calls about these things.

Let me know if you find a solution :)

  • THANK YOU i kept getting stuck on the change part

ps i love how you said all those av 1,av 2,conponet 1,ect. really fast it was pretty cool so thanks

  • Thank you

  • Manual or no manual, this is a VERY SIMPLE task.

  • @NKmKClan The reason manual and automatic are both options is because each are necessary. Automatic is great, as it can detect min to max usage of your OS (operating system) and adjust accordingly. Manual, however, can adjust settings so that your OS can run at controlled settings. I personally am learning that manual can be quite handy, such as tweaking computer graphics so that my computer can run games at optimum efficiency with the best graphics it can generate accordingly.Hope this helps :)

  • YOUR A LIFE SAVER THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! :D

  • actually it is about watching movies on my ps3

it worked correctly before but since i moved to another country i couldnt find the way to make it work

  • i dont know what the fuck you say but you voice is so hot yoooooooo! lol

  • @ruben7141 Cool beans :D Glad it worked out for you ^^ I thought that was an option, as it happened to me once before, but I couldn't for the life of me recreate it. Good to know it still works and I'm not crazy ;)

  • Thanks for the video helped alot :)

  • would 1080p be better HD then 1080i, 720p or 576p?

  • Thank You. I had my setting on 480 after I moved to my new place. I orginally had it in higher quality but I couldnt figure out how to get it back to the higher quality until you showed us on your post. Now Im in 1080 and I am loving it. Thx!

  • Hey! Thank you! I had previously had mine set up, but it reset, and I ACCIDENTALLY clicked no, and I couldnt put it back :( but it's all good now, MGS4 HERE I COME!

  • You said you did not know you had an HDMI port on your TV, same thing happened to me! :D Very good video, explained it very good for the noobs out there, subscribed, for hope that u make more videos! :)

  • @MrSham3less Why thank you ^^ Feel free to make suggestions. I enjoy learning new things.

  • @ZakeirSnake I like you. :)

  • its to far how do i zoom it in ?

  • @2011TheMw2 As far as I know, there is no way to "zoom in." Changing the resolution to a higher setting will always make everything appear smaller.

This is because smaller screens with lower resolutions are hard to see at a distance, so the icons are made bigger.

But larger screens with higher resolutions are easier to see at a distance, so the icons are made smaller.

And with a big TV, large icons would just take up a huge amount of space.

Still, I don't know how to make them bigger, sorry hun.

  • @ZakeirSnake its okay....i got it, i just had to go on \the Menu and justify some stuff (:

  • @2011TheMw2 Interesting. Mind sharing your secrets with me? Since I haven't been able to figure it out myself :D

  • @ZakeirSnake okay but how can i send a private message?

  • thanks dude you rock, had no fucking idea how to set that cord up. Thumbs up fo sho!

  • thanks for much - i thought i had 720p and i actually have 1080p ahahah sweet :)

  • theres 3 hdmi slots on my tv, i plug it in hdmi 3. i tried it like this but it dont work. all the slots are same right ?

  • @Gencturk92 All the slots for HDMI should look the same, since they are all HDMI slots. The only "difference" is their corresponding Inputs on the TV. For HDMI 3 on the back of the TV, you would need to change to the Input on the TV screen which says HDMI 3. Hope this helps.

  • @ZakeirSnake i have the slim ps3, that thing comes up on the screen at 2:37, then i change the input to hdmi3, thats where its plugged in but the screen at 3:01 does not appear on my tv

  • @Gencturk92 HDMI 1 :)

  • @BrandtKAB the hdmi slots are same, dont matter which slot u put it in.

  • THANK YOU it was really helpful cheers

  • @bombark I'm sorry this didn't work for you. Perhaps you would prefer to call the Sony hotline mentioned in my video for further instructions.

  • thx u so much
